I wasn't to create a Windows 7 installation disk that does not have ANY of my old files on it. I'm going to install Windows 7 on another computer other than mine. (And yes I have another license key) Is there any part on my hard drive that contains just the installation files?

It has a so-called OneKey Recovery button which will in theory recover or re-install Windows 7 from the O/S info stored on a special HD partition. But I would like a DVD-Rom that boots the computer and does a re-installation of Win 7 should Windows break down. How do I create such a disk?

I ran this diagnostic and it says my stuff is genuine? i cant do much on my computer now for the exction of going on facebook, but i constantly get the "aw snap" page. I'm wanting to go about this the right way before I throw it out the windows.Steps to take after a clean all command?I'm using a usb to install because my optical drive is a no go. I tried this previously and ended up with a dual booting system. Trying to remove the old Windows 7 installation and format that disc created much trouble so now I'm starting again, how to: Install Windows 7 on the new SSD disc (I'm assuming this will work ok as I've done it before), Have the system recognise only the new Windows 7 installation at boot & not the old Windows 7 installation so I don't have to select which OS to use, Reformat the old Windows 7 disc and remove any boot references that it might hold.

When I go to create the partition, I get to the final step and this is what I run into (see image below).I'm thinking of just leaving the space unallocated and formatting it when I do my install of 8, but then I'm afraid that might render my Windows 7 partition unbootable. Note: this would be in case my hard drive fails so that I can reinstall W-7 on a new hard drive. My first computer came with the disc (Win-ME). My second computer had a procedure where I was prompted to create/burn a disc of W-XP when I first started the computer. This time - nothing. I contacted Lenovo and they said I would have to pay $40 for such a disc!! Isn't there some way I can do this myself for free? Not exactly sure how to explain or even exactly what im looking for but basically I had an older laptop running windows 7 home premium that allowed me from the boot menu to re install windows & home premium w/o key or anything. It was placed on a partition of my hard drive. I would like to do this again but im not sure what exactly im looking for or how to search for it in shorter terms. It was an MSI Intel duel core laptop. I would like to put it on my toshiba quad core. Im familiar with partitioning software and image restoration but not sure what exactly i should be looking for to do this. Just a clean Reinstallation of my OS without needing keys i dont care to back up any information except my os which is a clean install. Update Toshiba has this HDD recovery but i am not sure if this is what i need/want. MSI had a MSI recovery which did what i want. Is this the same/similar?

It was in 2 partitions, so I ran the windows 7 disc and it ran through the motions, I formatted the c to re-install windows and it wouldn't let me. I went into dos under diskpart to try and format it that way, still no luck. I connected it to my computer then under disk management deleted the 2 partitions so there was only 1 now which had the size i.e, 600GB Unallocated. I connected it back into my dads computer and ran the set-up again. Now the computer wont even detect the drive. I need to re-format the drive to like factory default, is this possible, also do I have to do it in dos.

I didnt have the battery in when i tried to do the restore and unfortunately half way through the charger came out and switched the laptop off. i turned it back on and it says i had to insert my windows disc which i dont have. it wont let me do anything else now. ive tried downloading windows to disc but when it gets back to the restore page it says i need to have the windows installation disc and wont let me restore from an earlier time as these have all been erased. its a dell inspiron n5030, with windows 7.

It wasn't the black screen of death , looked like a windows black screen but it just wasn't displaying anything. Its almost like windows is operating normally in the background , its just not showing me. I own a Dell xps M1530 with a: 2.0 ghz dual core processor, 3gb of RAM, and (currently) a 360gb 7200rpm hard drive. I have purchased Windows 7 professorial 32bit to upgrade from Vista. Not shortly afterwards my hard drive started to go so I bought a new one(better on of coarse) I want to upgrade the RAM in my laptop to 8gb and I need a 64bit os to do so. I now am using Ubuntu 64bit on my laptop until I install windows. I have legally got the installers for the 64bit version of Windows 7 professional. I am planning on using the same key for the 64bit version which after research I believe will work. Right now I am having problems installing 7. I would really like to not have to waste a DVD to install it. I used some Microsoft utility to extract the ISO to a thumb drive which, I believe is bootable in the purpose of installing 7. Every time I try loading the os from the Thumb drive I get this error message:
Error: Unknown file system
Grub Rescue
Also, the Setup.exe file for installing windows doesn't seem to run under a linux operating system even with wine.
My friend's Gateway laptop has problems and I want to install Windows again. But when I try to boot to the installation disk, after I select the DVD in the boot selection menu, I just get a blank screen with a flashing cursor. After a few minutes, one time I saw a message that said something like "bootmgr cannot be found" or is missing or something like that.
But the computer can successfully boot to a Puppy Linux boot disk.
