I don't get it. i upgraded from vista to 7 when it came out. a few problems i have that i need explained by someone who knows more than me are:
1. How come when i raise or lower my volume it doesn't show on the screen that my volume is being raised or lowered.
2. How come when i use caps lock it does not show on my screen that its on all caps or not. (i need this because on passwords i have no way of knowing.)
3. How come when i press my battery button it does not display how much battery i have left.
it seems like none of my F1 - F12 keys work. why is this and how do i fix it so it shows up on the screen like it did in vista.
another problem i have is when i type fast, my keyboard spazzes out and it types random stuff, it freezes, and it opens files/folders all at the same time.
my computer wont let me turn on notifications icon for battery and sound when i try to turn on they are grey out and wont let me idk y i have a window 7 starter intel atom hp mini laptop
I recently noticed my network and battery icons have disappeared off my taskbar. When I tried to put them back, the check boxes in customize notification area were greyed out. I did a little research and people who had the same problem said to run "sfc /scannow" in command prompt. After attempting that, cmd gave me an error.
I have a HP Pavilion dm1 laptop. When I switch to battery I lose colors. Light greys turn to white etc. I think this is a power saving measure but it is really annoying. This does not occur when I am using my power adapter.
Does anyone know what this is and where I can disable it?
I just completed a fresh install of Windows 7 on my Dell XPS 17. For some reason, when the computer is on battery power and is idle, the screen will flicker. Basically if I am on battery power, the moment I stop typing or using the mouse, the screen will flicker after about a second. Then as soon as I resume using the computer, it will flicker again. It will also flash at random other times... Only when on battery power (so far).As I mentioned, I just completed a fresh install of windows 7 after reformatting my drive because of virus issues. I did have some issues with getting drivers installed and still have have that are missing (see attached photo). I have not been able to get these drivers to install. One thought I had is that the screen issue may be a result of improperly installed graphics drivers? Just a thought. System Info:
I have an ASUS K50IE laptop that i had for 2 years now. been working fine until 2 days ago.this problem has been bugging me for the last 2 days. here's why.my laptop suddenly didn't detect my battery. thought it was because my battery was dead. I searched the net on things to do before "throwing in the towel" on my battery and today i came across a blog where the instruction was to uninstall the Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery driver. I did just that and my battery suddenly worked! well sort of. now here's where it gets all weird.every time i open my laptop i do the following:1. plug in AC to laptop.. turn on laptop.3. unplug AC.3. laptop runs on battery.4. log on to windows.5. battery icon shows up as an empty charging icon then shows the "Battery is not detected" icon again.please take note that my laptop is still ON and WORKING. so this means (MAYBE?) that my battery is working.
Searching for a piece of software that can have me see the volume i raise up and down.Important thing is i also want it working in games. I didnt found any that worked in full screen games.
My volume slider in the middle of my screen. Any ideas why? I use two monitors and have the task bar on the (What windows considers) "Secondary" monitor.
is it possible to disable the volume that pops in the middle of the screen whenever i mute my pc, because when i'm playing a game with "fullscreen" and i mute, it exits(doesnt close the game just alt tabs) the game to the desktop thingy.
How do I get rid of the volume pop up in the middle of my screen. It mysteriously started appearing 3 months ago intermittently, and now is permanently on my screen.
When I start the laptop (toshiba satellite) it runs and boot logo comes up, after that a black screen with a cursor.Using one of the option that stop windows from restarting during crash I seen that the blue screen says "unmountable boot volume".I have windows 7 dvd which I used, it says to press any key to contnue, once done nothing happens, a boot logo comes again and the black screen with the cursor.
I have these problems with my dell xps m1330 and I also can't boot into safe mode, what do I do? Also when I try to reinstall windows from USB it loads a black screen with movable mouse.
so i have a blue yeti, and i'm an online animator/voice actor. whenever i record audio on my blue yeti (or any other mic) i record about 4-6 inches from the mic, and turn the gain down enough that the audio doesn't peak as i yell or whatever. this is what you're supposed to do if you don't want your audio levels peaking and making your recording sound horrible and corrupted. however, afterwards, it means i have really quite recordings. not a problem right? now that it's recorded right, i can boost the volume of the entire clip afterwards right? wrong. i'm not an audio expert so i must be missing something. but why in gods name would the audio distort and peak after it's recorded successfully? it's all there, it's all clean audio. if i turn the volume on my speakers all the way up it sounds crystal clear! all i want to do is do that inside the computer so that when i upload it to Internet people don't have to turn their speakers so far up. but if i increase the clips volume in the computer, it distorts! it sounds awful! why?! i tried in sony acid and audacity and they both do the same thing! i can take sound effects, and recordings made by other producers and crank them up nice and loud, but mine just fall apart!
I bought a USB A4 Tech HU-200 HeadPhone Its volume is quite high even when the windows volume is at 0, When its at max 100 it works like dedicated speakers Is there any way to reduce the volume beyond the lowest volume of windows 7?
Note: My Headphone does not have any soft of driver or software
I just received a new keyboard today: Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate. I went from a Logitech G15.
First thing I did was connect the keyboard and install the software that came along on the CD, it probably also installed the correct drivers. First after this did I uninstall the software and drivers from the old Logitech G15. But before that, and now after, the volume buttons on my new keyboard is still not adjusting the volume when I press them.
A speaker-icon like this shows up when I press the volume buttons, so its not that the keys are not working: (ignore the text behind it, its me writing an assignment)
I recently got this problem, that my volume hotkeys stopped working, (Acer Aspire 5560G) AMD High Definition Audio. I also tryed plug in other keyboard that have's volume hotkeys but still doesn't work.
I like to listen to music loudly sometimes. I have both the volume mixer and my application's volume set to maximum levels, but it's not loud enough for my liking. Is there any way to increase the maximum sound volume in Windows 7?
I have an acer laptop and it has been working great for the past year but now my battery won't charge to 100%. This only happened recently and my laptop is plugged in for awhile but it'll only read to 80%, 2 weeks later; 53% and now its only 28%. The thing is.. my laptop IS charged. when i unplug it, I get my usually lifespan of the battery before i have to plug it in again to recharge and it only charges to x% again. I've tried "draining" my battery and letting it charge again but it won't charge to 100%. Is there anything I can do to make my laptop read my battery correctly again.
*I should add its an Acer Aspire with a 6-cell Li-ion battery and this is the only problem I've had thus far with my laptop
My husbands laptop has been having this problem now for a few weeks Win 7 32 been working fine for over a year. The red x showed up on the battery a few weeks ago saying replace battery soon. We all know this is NOT a windows 7 problem b/c MS says so I let it charge to a 100% and die on its own a few times and the x went away for a few days. Then it came back and now the computer will not sleep. Power setting on all the laptops are the same and have been the same. Low battery 10% do nothing critical 6% sleep. But when it reaches 6% it acts like it is going to sleep and then it starts again. I checked to see if there is anything new waking it but nothing shows up when I query it in cmd Also when I press the pwr button which is supposed to make it sleep nothing happens when on battery but when plugged in it sleeps.
So I just moved to a new school which uses ACER TRAVELMATE 6293 as their laptops. When they first gave it to me they put a brand new battery in it and they gave me the wrong charger, greeeat, but I went back and got the correct one. Now, the laptop DOES charge. When I turn it on, it displays the battery icon with the charging icon over it if that makes sense, however it has a red cross over it and if you hover over that it says "no battery is detected". So you have no idea how long it has left to charge and so on. BUT if you take out the charger, the laptop will not turn on (as if the battery is flat, but surely it cant be because it has charged for 24 hrs.)Usually, I would just go to the IT guys/girls at school but seeing as they keep stuffing up and it is school holidays, I am hoping you kind and smart people have a solution. I have tried to get any dust out of the charger port/hole thing. And have also taken out and re-inserted the battery twice. This is driving me a bit stupid as I have homework to do. So just to make things clear, the laptop works completely find when connected to the charger except for what I said before. Oh and this is happens when I am on either the home or school image. And it runs on windows 7 of course
I have a 3 month old Del XPS 15z,I charged the battery and used it till it was drained I plugged in the AC adapter and i noticed as soon as i plug it in the little green light on the adopter goes off and the battery wont charge,my battery is drained and i can noteven turn the laptop on,does anyone know what i should do ? any one from Dell ?By the way i tried the AC adopter with another laptop and it works,so it should be OK.
I have a laptop Presario B1200, I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate. The problem of Battery charging had start from here. It works directly. If I plugged it out directly, the laptop get off without proper shut down.
