Nov 18, 2011is it possible to disable the volume that pops in the middle of the screen whenever i mute my pc, because when i'm playing a game with "fullscreen" and i mute, it exits(doesnt close the game just alt tabs) the game to the desktop thingy.

Oct 28, 2012My screen goes black no matter what game I am playing. Can be an old game like Condition Zero or Left4dead2. screen goes black but there is still sound, then the monitor shuts off unable to find a signal. I have two computers with pretty much the same specs- pentium core duo 2.8 ghz, 3 gigs ram, both have Nvidea geforce 9500gt and one has XP and the other windows 7. One is an emachine and the other a Dell.The thing that is wierd is that both PC's run games perfectly with the same gpu's in both, Nvidea 9500gt, but one gpu developed a bad fan after awhile. and so I took that 9500gt out of that one and took the other 9500gt with the good fan out of the other PC and installed it in the computer with a bigger HD. Now when playing any game it can play perfectly for a few minutes to an hour then the screen goes black and there is nothing you can do about it. ctrlaltdlt won't bring the screen back on to get to the task manager, and the monitor shuts off and I must do a hard shutdown at the power button and restart.
I reinstalled both the drivers that came with the gpu and updated drivers from Nvidea's website. neither works and the problem still exists. If I install the gpu with the bad fan back in the computer having the issue, the problem is resolved and if I install the cpu that I switched out back where it was originally in the original pc it works in that one as well, so placing the two gpu's back in the original pc's they were in works, so this means it's not the operating system causing the issue.

Nov 28, 2009I don't get it. i upgraded from vista to 7 when it came out. a few problems i have that i need explained by someone who knows more than me are:
1. How come when i raise or lower my volume it doesn't show on the screen that my volume is being raised or lowered.
2. How come when i use caps lock it does not show on my screen that its on all caps or not. (i need this because on passwords i have no way of knowing.)
3. How come when i press my battery button it does not display how much battery i have left.
it seems like none of my F1 - F12 keys work. why is this and how do i fix it so it shows up on the screen like it did in vista.
another problem i have is when i type fast, my keyboard spazzes out and it types random stuff, it freezes, and it opens files/folders all at the same time.

Windows 7 With A Vista Boot Screen
May 20, 2011I am running windows 7 and I booted into safe mode to do a sfc /scannow. I was having another small issue and thought that I would just do that to check if it would fix it. After I rebooted I got a boot menu that said that I have Windows 7 and Vista installed and I should pick which OS I wanted. This was upgraded from Vista. I picked Windows 7 and it couldn't find it. Tried again and picked Vista and it couldn't find it either. That wasn't good. I had a Vista recovery disk from Neosmart and tried that. It booted on that and detected right away that there was an issue and offered to fix it. I let it and when it rebooted, I got the Vista startup screen but it was my Windows 7 that I ended up with. It couldn't be any different because that is all that is on it.
I am assuming that because I used a Vista disk for the repair is why that happed but when I try to now use a Windows 7 recovery disk, it doesn't change back. Not that it is really important, but wondering if I can change it back. Otherwise, I guess as long as it is working, not going to worry about it.

Aug 25, 2012I am using w7 ultimate with a GT 9600 Nvidia GPU, connected to a samsung 22" wide screen via a HDMI cable, when I boot up the OS loads the startup screen in the old Vista format instead of the new W7 screen. It appears that my issue is the initial low resolution output via the HDMI cable. I have tried a DVI cable onto anther screen and the issue is not present as the new 3 ball bootup screen appears. Is there any way that I can tell the OS and or the GPU to start up immediately in a higher resolution which will enable the W7 newer boot screen.

Mar 28, 2012so i have a blue yeti, and i'm an online animator/voice actor. whenever i record audio on my blue yeti (or any other mic) i record about 4-6 inches from the mic, and turn the gain down enough that the audio doesn't peak as i yell or whatever. this is what you're supposed to do if you don't want your audio levels peaking and making your recording sound horrible and corrupted. however, afterwards, it means i have really quite recordings. not a problem right? now that it's recorded right, i can boost the volume of the entire clip afterwards right? wrong. i'm not an audio expert so i must be missing something. but why in gods name would the audio distort and peak after it's recorded successfully? it's all there, it's all clean audio. if i turn the volume on my speakers all the way up it sounds crystal clear! all i want to do is do that inside the computer so that when i upload it to Internet people don't have to turn their speakers so far up. but if i increase the clips volume in the computer, it distorts! it sounds awful! why?! i tried in sony acid and audacity and they both do the same thing! i can take sound effects, and recordings made by other producers and crank them up nice and loud, but mine just fall apart!
