Unable To Print Out Of Browser - Printer Not Installed
Mar 29, 2012Printing's been working fine up until about a week ago. Suddenly I'm unable to print out of chrome. Whenever I try to print I get an error that says "Printer not Installed" in the browser. I disable the "print preview" chrome has recently implemented but that doesn't work. I reinstall Chrome to no avail. I try to print in Firefox and get a different error... "An Error Occurred while Printing." I do some research and then realize I can't print out of Acrobat Pro. My print settings dialog in Acrobat is unlike any I've ever seen and no options work. I can't change the paper size or access the printer settings from the Acrobat Print Dialog.
Steps I've taken so far:
Reinstalled the printer
Restarted Print Spooler
Deleted the Port
Reinstalled Printer again with new drivers
Successfully Printed Test Pages after each of these steps. Still could not print out of other programs.
Successfully Printed out of MS Word
I logged in under a different user and was able to print out of firefox.

May 5, 2012I used until now a virtual printer who makes PDF files and send them direct to an editor. It's called BoD_easyprint_de.It always worked on XP and now I was told that it works on Windows 7 64x. Just on my Windows 7 64x Laptop doesn't work. I can download the program and start installing it. Right at the end the installation stops, shows a problem by installing the driver and error 216 and closes the installation.

Sep 6, 2012Got a new Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit machine, found that it did not come with virtual PC. Downloaded the critical patch Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu and installed it. Windows Virtual PC shows up in my Start Menu. Good so far. I go through the steps to create a virtual machine and use the option to 'use an existing vhd file' and when I click 'Create' I get the above pop-up message "Cannot attach the virtual hard disk to the virtual machine. Check values and try again". A factual message but completely useless as with all error messages from Microsoft. I have tried the following:1. When I attach that vhd using Disk Management, it mounts in drive E:, I can see the files and browse the dirs in E:. In the Disk Management View, the drive shows up as 127 Gigs but 107 is unallocated space. The physical size of the vhd is only 25 Gigs2. Others in my company were able to create the virtual machine with the same vhd, checked the byte size and timing, so nothing is wrong with the vhd file itself.
3. Tried to create after shutting down all virus protection including the Micorsoft antimalware protection service. No luck4. Tried Vhd resize to resize the vhd to a smaller size (since it showed up in disk management as 127 Gigs, I thought maybe it was that size), but VHDResizer could not open the input file, gave an errors "Can only load fixed or dynamic drives"
IE9 Browser Not Opening More Than One Browser
Aug 3, 2012The definetion of an EXPERT was "anyone more than 25 miles from home" not sure about that.If memory serves me I used to be able to open more than one copy of the Microsoft IE Browser, however am unable to do that now. Oct 26, 2011Our office has an old program that we still need to use when upgrading our PC's to Windows 7. The program will run fine if you start a windows virtual PC and install and run it. However, based on the needs of our office, I need to be able to run Windows XP mode and simply have an icon for our users to click to take them to the application.If I install the program in windows XP mode, and then add a shortcut to the file under all users/start menu, a shortcut is placed in the appropriate place on the windows 7 machine and I can copy that shortcut ot the desktop. The program runs fine until you restart the computer. Once you restart the computer and double click the link on the windows 7 desktop to the program running in windows XP mode, it says:
Cannot start virtual application. The application is blocked from running as a virtual application.
I read some other posts saying to put a new shortcut in the all users/start menu folder. This works, but only until our users restart their computer. The next time the computer is up, the problem happens again. This is not an acceptable solution to have to create a new shortcut for each workstation each time the computer is restarted.

Changed Browser Settings?
Nov 22, 2011i ran the program speedbit video accelerator and ever since then my computer notifies me that my browser settings have been changed. It does it more frequently at times and not so frequent at other times. Iv had another program on my computer for a few months that has run great everyday of the week up until today. Iv always run this program from the desktop shortcut, it has a system check and it always goes good except now when i try and open it from the desktop shortcut the system check looks like what i attached its supposed to have all green check marks. i can run the program now but i have to open it thru my internet explorer. and the desktop icon changed for the programs shortcut.
