i have a usb headset that i use for gaming, but want to use the 3.5mm jacks on the back of my pc to run a pair of desktop speakers to play music or Internet, etc. i do not want to have to switch the default between the usb headset and the speakers, but to have sound coming out of both at the same time. is this possible with windows 7?

I had an issue recently where I upgraded from OEM Vista x86 to Windows 7 Professional x86. There was very little sound coming from the internal speakers. I also had major BSODs from then, so obviously I was focusing my attention on the BSODs as a priority. That issue has been resolved, however, or, at least, I implemented a workaround - reinstalling Vista. I no longer have BSODs. The audio, however, is still extremely quiet. I've checked the following:
- Went into properties and maximised the 'levels' on everything.
- Went into volume mixer and maxed everything.
- Went into Devmgmt.msc and tried updating drivers - drivers already up-to-date.
I have two internal speakers as well as what I guess is a subwoofer (I'm terrible with hardware - its icon looks like a box server or something. I'm currently at work so I'll upload screenshots when I get home). Only one speaker plays at a time. I can change between the speakers by right clicking and saying "set as default speaker" and that plays sound out of one at a time with no problems, unless I choose the subwoofer(?). Is there a way to make both speakers play at the same time, instead of just using one of them?
Yesterday when I got home I could not get my headset working on my PC. It's a USB headset (Tritton AX720) but it works perfectly on my Xbox 360. There is sound coming from the headset but it is really quiet. My speakers to my computer work fine, it's just when I plug the headset in I'm not getting sound. I was working on it for about an hour last night and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. So far I've tried to make it my default audio device, I did a system restore to a few days ago, and messed with the setting a little bit. This headset has worked on my PC for about 6-8 months up until yesterday. By the way my audio for my computer is still working perfectly. It is only when I plug my headset in that it isn't working properly. I'm completely lost on what is wrong.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWith Windows XP SP3 I was able to transmit audio which was digital and sometimes multi-channel to my Denon reciever through the HDMI output on my motherboard; I was also able to simultaneoulsy display my computer through that same HDMI connection through my Denon reciever and on to my my Toshibe LCD TV.But when I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit the HDMI audio was very limited (only 16 bit 2-channel @ 48,000 Hz) and can only select it when the reciever is on (which makes sense, but it's anoying to have to go into sound properties and switch to HDMI if I started the computer before the reciever, I hate technology trying to pretend it knows what I want it to do, it should just be able to do what it's told.) Then, when I turn on the TV this message comes up (which I would see when I was using XP but it didn't change anything)An HDMI-to-DVI display connection has been detected. In order to hear audio on your HDMI based TV or display, you will need to have a seperate audio conecction from you computer sound outputs to your TV or audio equipment.However I'm not using the DVI at all I just want to use the HDMI into HDMI because that's the way it's supposed to work because HDMI is supposed to handle both and I shouldn't need to use another cord when I'm already using one that does both.And so then my sound no longer works but my computer shows on my TV.Whoopdee doo! why can't I have both. HDMI is supposed to support both and when computer/motherboard/OS manufacturers put these technologies on computers you'd think they should commit to applying them flawlessly the way they were intended to be used.I understand this may be a driver issue and I've tried many combinations of the newest & the just HDMI Realtek Driver as well as the Gigabyte mother board drivers and the appropriate ATI/Catalyst driver/downloads.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Speakers and Internal Speakers along with the Microphones are screwing up.This problem only started today, I haven't got a clue why and I haven't changed any settings whatsoever, Everything was working fine until one moment they weren't.I've gone into Sound to try and fix the issue, I set my Sounds as Default for the headset, and I still have them playing through both, and I did the same for the Microphone, only on that one.In Playback Devices, Speakers / Headphones is one and Communication Headphones is another, even if I disable the first, I can't get the second as Default for both, it won't let me have Default Device for only the Communication Headphones.Under Recordcing it's much the same issue except the first one is Internal Mic, it's allowed me to put the Microphone / Line In as Default, except it won't pick up sounds from the Mic, only the Internal Mic even if it's not enabled.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 2 speakers, nothing fancy. And a Sennheiser USB headset. Problem is when I set my default audio device to Realtek High Def Audio, my speakers work and my headphones don't. I have to manually set the default device to my headphones, but then my speakers don't work.
Is there a way to have audio through both?
Since upgrading our Fujitsu Siemens Amilo PI1505 to Windows 7 in the past few days I've only been able to get sound through a headset and not through the speakers. Not particularly having a clue what to do I've tried installing the original audio drivers but can't do so as Windows tells me that more up to date drivers are already installed.
Any ideas on how to resolve this problem and if indeed it is a driver issue any ideas how I can get the old driver to replace the new without Windows reinstalling the latest ones on Restart.
NO SOUND. Razer Megalodon USB headphones. Asus P8P67 LE motherboard 8.1 surround sound using Reaktek audio with latest drivers. Headphones show in device manageraudio. Configured sound settings to 7.1 audio. There is no sound through the headset when running the test sound. The volume control dialogue box shows audio levels are being produced (green level indicator moves up and down).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavilion DV6700. I am trying to get my Motorola S9 bluetooth headset to play audio. I just installed Windows 7 and the bluetooth drivers won't support audio. It pairs with the headset, but can't find the drivers for the headset. I told it to troubleshoot the problem and it sent me to this link: Broadcom.com - Bluetooth Software Download
I tried to install that driver, but the installation stopped very early giving me a message saying it can't update my bluetooth device. All of my internet searching always leads me back to this being the only solution that is supposed to work.
Has anyone found another way to get audio bluetooth support for windows 7?
I installed the latest realtek ac97 drivers and so far my speakers (playback) and mic (recording) works just fine. Unfortunately I cant get the sound to playback through both my speakers and headset at the same time.
It only allows me to set one or the other as my default playback device, is there any way I can have both playback at the same time?
Using my headset when I talk on Skype/Ventrillo/Mumble, when I transmit, everyone can hear my computers audio. This isn't the mic picking up bleed from the headphones, they can actually hear everything I hear very clearly, whether its in game sounds or music. I have almost narrowed this down to either my Motherboard, or Windows 7.
Hardware info:
Motherboard : ASUS M4A79XTD EVO
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 64
Soundcard - Creative Xi-Fi Extreme
Headset : Razor Carcharias
What I have tried:
- Uninstalled all Creative software, removed card from computer and activated on board sound instead.
- Activated both sound cards, plugged in the headphones into the X-Fi card, and the Mic into the on board.
- Made sure I have the latest drivers installed for both Xi-Fi and on board (creative driver is pretty ancient)
- Used a completely separate microphone not attached to the headset.
- Made sure all recording devices are switched off except the Mic.
- Tried every kind of input and output volume controls, adjusting these does not seem to make a difference.
- Made sure Stereo Mix is disabled (this option was only available when using the on board audio, not seeing this option for the Xi-Fi card)
- Listen to device disabled.
I've also tried 2 other headsets and issue still persists. Is there something I can do within Windows 7 to disable this from happening?
I buy another headset and its the same problem and when i plug the usb headset in the audio stops working. I know nothing wrong with the headset because i heal popping noises through the headset when i restart the computer with them on. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Network Media Tank A-110 Media Player (NMT) which I love, but I have never been able to browse my WORKGROUP through my homeplug home network. Instead I have had to use iHome server installed on my PC (connected to a homeplug) and a standard UPnP server on my NAS (also connected to a homeplug) in order for my NMT to see my media files. My NMT is connected to a Netgear gigabyte ethernet switch (as is my blu ray, AV AMP, TV) which itself is plugged into a 200gb Homeplug. However today I decided to plug my PC directly into the gigabyte ethernet switch using a 10m cat5 cable, and lo & behold - my NMT can now browse my entire network!Of course I wanted to check that it wasn't a fluke so I unplugged it and plugged my pc back into the homeplug, and the NMT cannot now see the WORKGROUP to browse at all.It seems that, somehow, the homeplugs are stopping my NMT from browsing the network.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HDTV connected to my computer to serve as a monitor. I used an HDMI connection so therefore I get the computer's sound through the TV. I also have a 5.1 digital surround system that I use, connected through a Optical Digital Audio Cable.
Now my problem is, I can change between the 2 devices by going into "Playback Devices" (right clock the sound icon in the bottom right corner) and then setting either audio device as the "Default Device". However I want to play audio from both of them at once, that way I don't have to switch the settings everytime I decide to use surround sound.
Is there any simple way to do this? Or do I just have to resign myself to switching in between each time?

Asus M5A97 motherboard
Asus Radeon HD 7850 graphics card with HDMI out (this is what my TV is connected to and gets Audio through)
Realtek HD Audio (onboard), I have both regular jacks and an Optical jack, I use the optical jack for my surround sound.
I am wanting to use both of my monitors on my PC, I have 1 GPU PCI and the onboard GPU. Both are nVidia brands.

it's using the intelhd graphics as I tried /disabling it in Device Manager and my screen went black. I restarted the computer and dxdiag/display showed no existing graphics display (neither the intelhd nor the nvs).
Asrock e6 z77 board, uninstalled and reinstalled latest drivers for gigabyte 6870 but Windows 7 64x spits a colada-scope of colors and crashes severely sometimes with blu screen the moment I press play, plays standard blurays fine. If I switch to onboard no problems. 750 psu, i73770k, 16G ram LG bddvdrw.

I just formated my comp, nothing new added except two older hdds from another comp, removed them so thats no worry atm, but the onboard lan just stopped getting detected for some reason?, i cant understand it, its been working perfectly, and it does work if i use the "MSI WINKY" browser and the onboard lan with cable connects to the internet without a problem, but as soon as i enter windows, its gone, nowhere to be found in device manager, when i flashed my bios to the latest version the onboard lan got detected for a few minutes but was gone after reboot, so.. im kinda good with computer and it feels like ive tried everything but now im lost.

I then proceeded to install a PCI type network adapter card in one of the available slots and it was recognized by the OS with drivers installed. I connect the cable which I tested to be working fine on my laptop and it shows the led's working on the card but I still have no network capability. Is it possible to have both the onboard LAN and external NIC not work because of a chip issue, etc.? This is the first I have ever seen both not work. If I need a new board...fine...but I just don't want to waste my money if it can be fixed. BTW, I did check my BIOS and everything is enabled properly.

I keep my hdmi plugged in as a watch dvd's everynight through media center, onto my 32" tv.
The thing is, the sound taskbar used to automatically switch from hdmi to the laptop's soundcard automatically. It doesn't any more. Basically, if I turn off the hdmi mode on my tv, it used to switch from hdmi sound output to laptop's card. When I activate hdmi again, it would automatically switch to hdmi output.
I'm using the nvidia provided drivers via windows update.
