The only visible option is the OK button which cancels the install. [code] I am running Win 7 64 bit on a P6TD Deluxe board with my main drive a CORSAIR CMFSSD-128GBG2D.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed a Crucial M4 256 GB SSD in an Acer Aspire 5742 laptop as a replacement for it's aging HDD. This was followed by a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on the new drive.
So my next step is to ensure that the system has all of the appropriate and up to date drivers installed. Most of the relevant information I found on the Acer website:

I am familiar with most of the device drivers listed here and don't expect to have any trouble tracking down the best versions currently available but I am not sure about the "Intel SATA AHCI" driver in particular. It has been my understanding that to enable TRIM on an SSD dedicated as the system drive you just have to set SATA mode in BIOS to AHCI and windows will take care of the drivers during install of the OS.
So my question is will I see any benefit in installing the latest Intel AHCI driver (ver 11.6.0.1030) over the MS one originally installed with Windows?
Alternatively is it a better idea to leave the configuration as it is (working pretty well) and avoid potential software conflicts?
I have installed Win 7 32 bit O/S, have installed Ati Radeon Hd 4350 driver and control suite for pci-e video card, trying to install. Intel Graphics media Accelerator driver installer, get error. This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software Set up will exit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter four or five trial and error attempts of system restores to find why my computer was having such an insanely long boot time I finally discovered that it was an optional windows update titled "Intel Corporation- Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics." I avoided the update and my computer worked amazingly. However, my girlfriend recently used my computer and decided to perform some updates...the Intel HD Graphics update being one of them. So of course now my computer is experiencing the same slow boot time and general sluggishness.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm out of ideas. I've been running Win 7 on this machine for more than a year without issues in updating etc. Now it will not search or update/install critical items. I'm running Symantec (even tried turning the firewall off without any success). I get an error code 80072F7C. When I run hijackthis, I get an error message that my system denied write access to the Hosts file. I proceed with the scan but am unable to produce a log file. I've included a screenshot from the windows update error as well as the error I get when trying to run hijack this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to Windows 7, and unfortunately I have to deal with some compatibility issues.
My crate contains a DG965SS mobo.
Unfortunately Intel announced that there wouldn't be any driver support for 965 chipset series.
I need the audio driver to set up my microphone.
Any suggestions?
I am trying to install an update to my x79 chipset drivers but everytime I run the exe it tells me drivers successfully installed though when I check in device manager they are still the old version and I do not get the installation screen (bars loading and progress) before it went to successfully installed. what I should do to get it to work. Firewall was disabled when I tried.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.
When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.
I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.
I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.
I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.
I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mode before recovering back to the pre-driver point.

Ok, I tried to install Windows 7 a while back, and it would freeze every time during 'expanding files' section. I also run into similar problems when it comes to installing Vista. I've gotten Vista to install maybe 2 times and both times it ran fine for a little then it refused to boot (not sure where in the process anymore).I checked the Windows Vista / 7 compatibility guide on Microsoft's page and everything i have SHOULD work, so I'm not thinking its hardware issues.I read another post on these forums that had someone saying it worked when they swapped out the dvds when it froze. I don't believe its the disc either, because both Vista and 7 had no problems installing on other computers that i tested it on. Running a Virtualbox with 768mb RAM assigned to it installed flawlessly as well. Why does my install keep freezing on the machine I plan to activate Windows with, but not on any other?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to uninstall a program (GTA4/Grand Theft Auto game), but the setup for this game does not work on Windows 7.
To make the setup work we need to edit the compatibility for it.
It's the same problem to install the game, the same error "incompatible with %P". The solution to install it's the compatibility mode.
But I don't know how to change the compatibility to the uninstall setup. The setup.exe, I don't know where it is, when I click to uninstall the system always generate a setup.exe on a temp folder like:
C:UsersSauloBAppDataLocalTemp{E5FDAAC7-1D94-43B7-BB89-F0762501AD15}setup.exe
The {strings} always change. So I cannot edit the setup to open on compatibility mode.
Does anyone know how to change the compatibility for setups on the uninstall list?
Btw, there's no uninstall shortcut on the game start menu
I recently read an article about using a USB thumb drive to install Windows 7.Set Up a USB Drive as a Bootable Device to Install Windows 7 IT Professionals.I would like more information about how to do this.
