How do I: a) Stop Windows from asking permission to run Outlook every time I open it?
b) How do I stop Outlook from running in Administrator Mode i.e. When I right click on my outlook.exe file ==> Compatability tab ==> Privilege level has "Run this program as an administrator TICKED but in a greyed out box so that I cant change it!
I tried doing a google search to help fix this issue. Anytime I open iTunes to listen to music, or do anything with it, the program keeps opening itself up, re-maximizing itself, I exit it and then it reappears. I have no clue what is going on. This happens when I don't have anything going on with it. Its becoming rather annoying that less than 5 seconds after I minimize it, its pushing itself right in front again. I updated the iTunes Software a few days ago but that's about the only major change I've made to it. And it only started glitching the past day or two.
I have been getting BSOD errors whenever booting into regular mode. Safe mode is fine (I have tweaked the registry so I have sound in safe mode) My system specs are in my profile, but used Winaudit for full specs. The winaudit report in formatted text is too big for an attachment. I have 2 attachments to this post, including zipped up minidumps. Could my registry tweak for sound have something to do with this? Perfmon /report was run, but it says:
An error occured while attempting to generate the report. The system cannot find the path specified.
Is there a way to stop internet explorer or any browser from opening up by itself...? New computer is launching internet explorer on its own and multiple windows of the MSN homepage when I do attempt to browse. Is this problem caused by a virus, or a defect in the operating system? I have not downloaded any programs other than the manufacturers Windows Office., and my setting are still the "defaults"
How can I stop WMP12 from opening the last file that was played when I load up a new instance of WMP12? Say I watch a video, close WMp, I click the WMP icon to load the player up, it wants to continue playing the video where I left off. I disabled it before a long time ago, but just reformatted and its doing it again and I cant remember how I did it!
For the last two years I have had no problems using Office 2003 in Windows 7. Now the Outlook program will not open any files created by Office 2007 or 2010. It did before, but now comes up with a error message as it tries to install an unknown program - "an error occurred when sending the command to the application" and then shuts down. A further message then shows indicating that WDVIEWER.cab is not available. So I downloaded and installed this but it is still not found.
I have a new pc running win7. I recently installed MS Office 2007, and use Outlook for my emails. However, as a musician, i get emails from music shops with loads of pictures. On my old pc, clicking on an image would take me to their website and view the item in detail. But now i get the message "The operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" (that's me).
I have Windows 7 Ultimate built from scratch, (although this same issue happened before the rebuild, from an upgrade to Windows 7 Pro from Windows Vista); Windows 7 is build 7600.I have a multiple monitor setup and Outlook runs on the r/h screen. When I use Outlook 2007, I click new mail, and the new message window opens on the l/h screen. Same when I click reply or forward. Whether I am opening a new message, or replying/forwarding an existing message, sometimes, (and it really is sporadic), the new message window won't take focus. So when I started to type, my focus shoots up and down on the Outlook window; e.g. if I hit H to start typing H, it will try and jump to a message starting with H.
I was wanting to know if anyone been having problems with Outlook 2013. The problem I'm having is that it will stop synchronizing. I have my gmail setup to it and it will send but when it tries to receive it doesn't complete. I've let it run hours at a time to see if it ever complete but it never dose. I also deleted my account and reentered it and still dose the same thing.
Our office manager is using Windows 7 with outlook 2007 and is trying to share her calendar with the staff in the office. Two of the office computers are running outlook 2003 and can not accept the invitation to share her calendar. We have gone on the Microsoft website and followed the steps located there to do this but still does not work.
i have to press the power button every time instead. all the laptop i've owned before were never like that, opening the lid would've sufficed. i checked power options settings, i don't see "lid open action", only "lid close action" which is set to "sleep" mode.
I'm running windows 7 ultimate and i haven't run XP mode in a while so i'm not sure if it was an update or what that caused this. but the crashes that i'm referencing happened on 4/27/2012
We have a laptop at work that was never put on the network by my predecessor. It's running Windows 7. Basically, the person who used this laptop has now left and moved abroad. As he was the only user of the computer, nobody has his password, and there is data on there that is important and vitally required. I am trying to log on as Administrator, but when I boot into Safe Mode, the Administrator icon is not there as I'd expect. So I thought I'd try and boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt, and run net user administrator /active:yes. But I'm still presented with the normal welcome screen with just the one user icon, so can't do that either. How I get the administrator icon so I can logon?
I installed windows 7 on my laptop. in the process of setting up my account I deleted my adminstrator access. on the welcome screen it will show my admin name and when i use my password this is what is says:the user profile service service failed the logon. user profile cannot load.I have tried to reinstall windows but I need access to my account. Like noted above safe mode is black and says safe mode on the corners if this is fixable I plan to wipe my system to factory settings because everytime i installed windows before this issue it kept copying my harddrive and now I have less then a 1gb on my computer.
i got a laptop and i have windows 7 on it now the problem is that the admin password is lost to me and the admin is the only admin on my laptop so i have no elivated privilages to change or do anything with my laptop i tryed to go into safe mode and loginto my admin but it says to type in the password and the password is one of a kind so how would i get into my laptop and do anything if the admin has full control over everything i cant download adobe flash player i cant change anything but my password for my user not the admin i have no disk for reinstalling or formating and i cant use them becuse of the admin
During the day, if we leave the computer alone, screen goes black, after a while, fans turn off. Wireless mouse wakes it up just fine. Fans startup before the screen is completely ready to go. During the night, the screen is dark, but the fans almost never stop. Why?
I was on the internet this morning and suddenly I lost connection to the internet, I'm connected by ethernet so I tried a different cord and it wouldn't recognize anything, that there was a connection what so ever. So I restored to a previous date assuming the new update, as usual, screwed my laptop up. Same issue happened, but then this time as administrator I cant run chkdsk, tells me access is denied and that I don't have sufficient privileges, even though I am the administrator and only user on the laptop. Also troubleshooting things, anything, it can't continue due to an error, it the details of the error it used to say Restricted but now it says Elevated, like the chkdsk thing as well which mentions that I have to invoke the utility running in elevated mode. My internet after shutting down is back but I'm still confused.
I've come across the following BSOD:STOP 0x0000007F (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAPThis appears to have started shortly after I installed a network drive. The drive is a Western Digital MyBook Live 1TB.Here's the sequence of events:1) Installed the drive and ran the software from the CD. I only installed the WD SmartWare Drive Manager, NOT the backup software.2) Evaluated and tried out the drive for a couple of days - no issues, everything worked fine.3) Then, Windows Update notified me of 2 updates...which were rather strange...a) HD - Other Hardware - WD MyBook Live - IMPORTANT HD - Other Hardware - Storage Media Update - OPTIONAL (not the exact description, but similar)4) I noticed a yellow bang in Device Manager. It was under other devices, but it was obviously my network drive that I installed. It said that "No Driver could be found for this device." However, my drive was working fine and no issues were noted.5) I installed the 2 Windows Updates and the Yellow bang went away. The device now had a driver and was viewed under the appropriate device category.6) Went to bed, I restarted the computer the next day and within 1 minute of bootup, I get the above BSOD. I rebooted and the same error occured.Things to note:a) The error happens often (about 50% of the time) but not always. However, it always occurs within 1 to 2 minutes after bootup and the error code is exactly the same each time. If I don't get the error after 2 minutes of bootup, I will not get it at all. Safemode & Safemode with Networking do not appear to experience the BSOD.c) When the BSOD occurs, it usually happens when the boot drive (System partition) is very "Busy" (like after a Windows Update, new program install, etc.)d) It references the same file associated with Acronis True Image as the culprit (see below).
I am using Outlook 2007 on Windows 7 RC1 (7100) with Franklin Covey PlanPLus for Outlook v.6 add-on. This add-ob really gets slow at times. I asked tehir support, they said windows 7 is not supported (ah, that was easy to forsee).
Before I try the thing on XP - I want to try running Outlook in XP Compatibility Mode. When I try this Outlook starts, but cannot find my profile (or any profiles whatsoever).
Ok, windows 7 keeps Outlook data differently from Win XP. But how can I create a profile for XP compatibility mode? The craziest thing is run a control panel which creates profiels in XP Compatibility mode, or reinstall outlook (or start it with some command-line switch to pretend that it runs the very first time and force it to craete a profile while running in XP Compatibility mode?)
When I try to install some programs and drivers i get error: 'Setup will only run in administrator mode. setup is aborting.'. I only have one account which has administrator rights. I have already tried to enable and disable UAC, booting in safe mode, run as administrator, enabling original administrator account, adding permissions, taking ownership, changing compability mode and other but nothig is solving my problem. I'm running windows 7 x64 build 7000.
wreaks havoc with my Norton full system scan. It is scheduled weekly, but never does it, because my computer is on, but sleeping. How can I get the scan to not stop during sleep mode or scan if it's in sleep mode? I having to constantly unsleep my computer or change my control panel settings then change it back.
A little background and info: I support a number of people who for one reason or another need to be able to do things a local admin can do like install programs and start services (or more accurately allow a program they're running to start a service). All users are in the local administrators group. The local admin account is enabled (and renamed) so that we as administrators have local access when the machine comes in for service. The machines are joined to a AD domain so that we can control a lot of the security via GPO. Everything worked fine in XP.
We are getting a few different "you do not have permission" errors. When the user tries to run OpenAFS (which starts a service) they get a "you do not have permission" error. There is no way around this error.
Also, when the users try to run Lotus Notes they get a "you do not have permission" error. When we go into compatibility mode and check the "run as administrator" (or just right click and "run as administrator) it works fine, but they have to click the elevated privileges. The program was installed while logged in as the user.
Again, all users are members of the local administrators group. When the local admin account logs in all these programs run fine. This behavior started in Vista and I chalked it up to "vista sucks". Windows 7 so far seems to be great, except that like in vista, members of the local administrators group are not really local administrators. How do I make them true local administrators?
I use an old XP app (JetToolbar - available at JetToolBar - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com) and do not want to change but I cant make it work on Windows 7. The application installs and starts up just fine but it is not possible to drag icons/programs/files to the toolbar - I just get the 'no entry' sign (Circle with line through)However, the application runs fine when logged on to the hidden Administrator account. If I set up the application in the hidden Admin account and then log on as a normal admin user and run it from that account, the icons I set up are just not visible. So what do I have to change in my normal user account (member of administrators) to make this drag and drop work?I have tried 'Run as administrator' but that made no difference. Ive read about dropping to 'Run as User' apps from 'Run as Admin' apps but that's not the problem (at least problem occurs when app is run as user or run as admin)
I have an Acer laptop which came with one user account, Acer, with the administrator right. When I tried to rename it to Administrator or administrator, I got an messages saying that user name has already existed
Having successfully moved my address book (.WAB format) to w7 and converted it to .CSV format I can get as far as "Select the Contacts folder that you want to import to" as in the website [URL] but when I click "next" the box is blank where a Contacts folder should be. In outlook 2003 I have some contacts which I added manually to address book so there should be an address book of some sort.
