Icon And Files Not Opening?
Mar 19, 2011All of my icons in startup are of wordpad and all the shortcuts i click on in all the menus are of wordpad and they come up in wordpad as code.I would like to have the icon as well as everything back to normal.

Oct 28, 2011I am using windows7 Home premium and for some reason when I insert a flash card in the slot the menu for which programs to use no longer opens up. I have looked in the default programs set up and they are all set to ask me. I think I have tried about everything I can think of to get the menu back but nothing seems to work.

Jul 19, 2009I read somewhere how you can choose the default program to open a folder with, but now I cannot find it again, and I also cannot find how to do this.
I had done it and changed the default file manager, but I want to reverse the change. I can't get to a window or dialog box that lets me change the file types windows displays, or that lets me edit the default program when I click on a folder icon.

Mar 11, 2011I just loaded windows 7 64 bit os and I am having problem with the taskbar. When I open some programs like my anti virus software it will not open but the icon pops up in the task bar. When I run the mouse over the icon a small screen comes up over the icon but clicking on it will still not open the program. The little screen just disappears. Even when you go to explorer and try to open the program it still won't open. I have several programs that has this problem.

Dec 13, 2011I don't know why this is happening! My Mozilla Firefox (newest version) since yesterday keeps opening up in a default homepage (bankofamerica) and I don't even use Bank of America~! When I go to change it to use it a different default page, it sets it as the different page (or even default) but then when I reopen FireFox, it goes back to the default B of A page.
I ran virus scanner and windows defender and there appears to be no virus or anything wrong with my comp in regards to that..

Jul 15, 2010I recently ran into an issue where this installation on Windows 7 Pro 32-bit is trying to open up all my programs in Word, they all have the MS word icon as well, so for instance, when I click on Nero, it will try to open it up in word and we get an error because it is not a word file. This is on all Program .exe files. There are no options to change the file association in the default programs in control panel. I have only seen a few fixes for this which involve the registry, I have checked these, however, all registry keys are correct. System restore fails as well, have tried multiple restore points to no avail. We have also ran norton, and malwarebytes on the system is it runs clean.

My Browsers Not Opening
Jul 25, 2012Neither FF, Opera or Chrome open on my Sony Vaio 64bit system. I know I have Internet access as Avast updates every day. When the relevant icons are pressed the Blue loading ring appears for a few seconds then disappears. When I try to access Task manager by ctr/alt/del the screen appears asking which service I require but when I select Task manager the Blue ring appears and again disappears and nothing happens. I regularly run anti virus scans and everything else seems to work okay. I've heard a rumour that the Bonjour service could be the problem. I I did uninstall it but maybe there is something left behind.

IE 32 bit stopped opening pop-ups. Nothing happens. Even if I turn off pop up blocker, no popups work. OWA all of a sudden starting giving me some sort of 'out of memory' message which is ridiculous since I had just booted up and my pc has 12 gig of memory.
