View 2 RepliesI have an HP netbook and was wiping it down to clean and now my mouse is moving on its own and there is a little rectangular icon above the pointer. It is a touchpad mouse on keyboard. Did I click something by mistake?
View 8 Replies View RelatedOk this is my first post here. I have installed Windows 7 32 bit clean installs twice now on a Dell GX960 4 gig of Ram. I go to install Groupwise and Norton and I notice installs are going extremely slow, I can move the mouse and the speed seems normal. I have noticed this when I try to open the internet, move something, boot up, shut down I move the mouse and you can see the busy circle works normally, stop moving the mouse and the busy circle stutters and the machine seems really slow.
I have checked the event viewer and there is nothing there except where I have cancelled installs for office or adobe. I have checked the device manager and there is no conflicts. Deleted the Dell Laser mouse and rebooted, it reinstalled and still same issues.
I have installed this on 2 laptops and have no issues with them, they actually run GREAT! Decided to do my office machine and well, it is not going as smooth
Any ideas would be helpful. Anyone seen this before??
My mouse cursor stopped moving and I removed the stick because it seemed to be interfering with the USB.The next day, I was playing a game and the keys were malfunctioning and typing more than one letter each or the wrong letter altogether. I tried another keyboard and got similar, yet different errors. One keyboard types hn instead of n. The other won't type certain letters at all, like d or g. I couldn't even log into windows without using the cursor keypad to log in. The language settings are OK. I re-installed the drivers for keyboard and mouse. No dice. Sometimes the mistakes would change. H works now, but was zh a minute ago. I finally did a system repair and afterwards, I could log into windows again. I then typed every letter of the alphabet into Google and there were no problems, but 10 seconds later, the problem is back. Does this sound like a keyboard controller problem?I could type my password when running system repair, so the keyboard works in the boot area. Just not anywhere from windows log on or further.
Here's an example of the alphabet when typing without me correcting it.

After I put my computer to sleep I can turn it back on by moving the mouse or touching the keys. How do I disable that? My wireless mouse is very sensitive, even glitchy, and sometimes the computer turns on randomly in the middle of the night. Now I have to turn off the mouse before putting the computer to sleep. My old DELL(XP) wakes by pushing the power button. How to I make it so that the computer only wakes after pushing the power button?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt is an 'Advent T9208'.The GPU was previously upgraded to a GeForce 8600GT. Yesterday I upgraded the RAM to 4GB and installed Windows 7 64-bit. Everything was running grand and then the system froze. But the I was able to move the mouse and see it move on screen. Everything else however was unresponsive. There is one driver that windows 7 isn't picking up and I'm not sure what it is, but I honestly don't think that's the problem. As shown in the link, there are 2x 250GB HDDs. They are set to RAID.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI play a game called starcraft 2, when playing this game you drag the mouse off the right side of the screen in order to move right. I just setup an extended desktop with one screen to the right of the primary. When playing this game and trying to move right the mouse just moves onto the extended screen. Is there a way to stop this happening so when I am running the game to lock the mouse into it so that it wont move across to the other screen (so I'd have to alt + tab the game to do so).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a peculiar problem that seems to be related to Remote Desktop Connection in Windows 7.
I connect to my Windows 7 Enterprise x64 RTM box using a Remote Desktop Connection.
When I return to the console session (I log on to the computer when I' in front of it again), the sound crackles and stutters and the mouse is jerky and non-responsive when I browse the Internet in Internet Explorer (or Firfox).
If I log off, or reboot, the problem goes away.
This problem occurs in any music player (in Windows Media Player, or Winamp), and it seems unrelated to the sound card, because I tried two different USB sound cards and heard the same problem. The problem occurs with any mouse also.
Here's what I've tried:
Installed the latest Realtek drivers a scan from PCPitstop indicates the drivers are up-to-date no change in the problem.
Tried disabling the NVIDIA Hi-def components in Device Manager no change in the problem.
Tried using 2 different external sound cards the problem is the same with any sound card or device.
Installed the Codec lite pack no change in the problem.
As per http://www.intel.com/technology/serialata/ahci.htm, I tried setting the Msahci value from 3 to 0 no change in the problem.
Disabled speaker effects (enhancements) no change in the problem.
Reset the BIOS to the factory default settings no change in the problem.
Tried using different apps to play music the problem occurs in all programs.
Ran Hijack this to make sure nothing questionable is running.
use Shell Ex View (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html) and disable all the "Groove" extensions.
Not sure how exactly how to start this, but I am suddenly having issues where my computer will freeze. I could still hear audio and move my mouse. ie if I am watching a you tube video I can hear the video still going but my computer freeze up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy computer qwill freeze for a few seconds followed by system lag which seems to get worse (freezing every few seconds/taking 2 seconds to recognise a click etc.). If i reset my computer it resolves the issue but i was hoping you guys may be able to give me more insight as to what the issue may be.It nearly always happens when i am browsing in firefox. Have never had it happen to me during gaming etc. which is why i'm hesitant to believe it is to do with my GPU or it's drivers which are always kept up to date.i have included pics of the cursor and what processes were running at the time of the freeze/lag
View 9 Replies View RelatedLately I have been having an annoying problem with my wireless mouse. For some reason the pointer will lag, and be very sluggish and jumpy. I've had this mouse on this computer for about a year and I've had no problem. Out of nowhere this problem is happening. I've tried re installing drivers with no luck. I tried uninstalling intellipoint and re-installing it, but when I tried I got the BSOD, and then it completely disabled my mouse and keyboard so I had to use wired peripherals to go in to safe mode and do a system restore. Now everything is working again, except my mouse is still jumpy.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI probably spilled some coffee on the keyboard and now I can not inactivate the mouse pad in favor of the external mouse. The only way I can eliminate the conflict is to uninstall the mouse pad. That works fine but every time I reboot for something I have to uninstall it again. As you know rebooting is common and therefore I have to reboot twice for every time I have to reboot. Anyone with a solution to this problem? This is a HP laptop. The mouse automatically installs everytime I have to reboot. I do not shut down normaly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently rescued a SSD that had seemingly failed, unfortunately i lost all data & my OS (which had to be re-installed) on my one remaining HDD until i did some research & repaired the problem.Would it be possible for me to transfer my current OS (Windows 7 Ultimate x64) wholesale, leaving all files & settings untouched from my HDD to my repaired SSD (as user friendly as possible)
View 4 Replies View RelatedCurrently I have a 120GB SSD, which I wish to have my OS on as well as other stuff such as games and what not. I got a 1TB HDD, which my OS is currently on, along with all my other data. I also have three 250GB HDDs that I want to set up in a RAID0 array (made the mistake of not setting it up properly when i first installed the OS).I am not sure how i can go about doing this. I would like a clean install of the OS if possible, but it's not necessary. I would also like to keep most of my data because I have no other drive to store it on.I would like my program files x64 folder on my 1TB, and I read a very nice guide how to set it up as such with tweaking some registry settings, but I can't find that guide for the life of me now (I have no idea what the hell I googled). Also, if I am able to do this OS transfer, am I also able to partition my SSD to just have a section for the OS and a section for all the other stuff? (The OS has so many ugly folders)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used my Turtle Beach Headset while playing a game and since then the computer has started saying i have two mice connected to my computer. The problem is that since its reading two mice the one i have been using forever has stopped working right.ouble Click is disabled and it moves extremely fast. I go to disable the HID Mouse and everything is working fine again. But when the computer restarts it seems to reinitalize the HID Mouse. So i uninstalled the driver for it. Next reboot it was back again and this time the headset wasnt even plugged in. I am not getting any error messages in my device manager but i cant seem to get the HID mouse to disappear. Whenever i plug anything into the USB port even if its a Thumb drive the mouse comes back.

P.S. This is off-subject but I was only after thinking of it. My wireless adapter is a fair bit away from my router and it seems to have trouble connecting to the router whenever the two other laptops are connected to it. I would think that this is due to interference because all of the computers are on the same channel, is there any way to change the channel and would this be of benefit to me?
I have a latitude d830 running with windows 7 professional(SP1, 32bit). The cursor on my computer has been randomly scrolling by itself and hopping into places where i do not intend to type for a while now. I recently had windows xp removed and replaced with windows 7 because of multiple bothersome issues, but behold the cursor issue remains. My files were backed-up and reloaded to the computer and I now wonder if the "suspected" virus was transferred to my system again.
