Showing Error Message When Ever Run Windows

Dec 30, 2010

Basically, my Windows was messed up so I re-installed Windows Vista 32 bit onto my computer. My copy of Windows 7 is a .iso from Microsoft and its 64 bit. Whenever I try to run i get an error message about it being the wrong type of Windows. I'm guessing that this is because I have 4gb of ram but windows vista 32 bit has reduced it to 3gb and I read online that you need at least 4gb to run Windows 7. How do I go about re-installing Windows 7?

The Message Says "a Clock Interupt Was Not Received On A Second Processor"

Aug 16, 2012

The HP laptop I have was designed for Win XP and someone upgraded it to Win 7 Ultimate before I obtained it. Everything ran fine until recently it started blue screening. The message says "a clock interupt was not received on a second processor". It appears updating the BIOS would work but HP does not offer a BIOS upgrade for Win 7, only for Vista and before. It appears you can use some drivers from XP though I am not sure BIOS would be one of those drivers.

Not An Authentic Copy Of Windows Message Just Started Showing Up

Jan 10, 2012

I have an ASUS laptop with Windows 7 installed. It was purchased from Office Max in October 2010. Never had any problems until two weeks ago when a rogue message showed up in the lower right-corner of the screen telling me my copy of Windows was not authentic. I have the COA attached to the bottom of my computer with the product key, etc.

Might there be a new virus out that is causing this to happen? With that said, my ability to download any MS updates is now gone when up until this time I had downloaded every important and critical update recommended by MS.

Zebra / UPS Thermal 2844

Aug 18, 2009

I have a thermal label printer that is manufactured by Zebra. It's used for printing UPS labels etc.

Windows sees it as UPS Thermal 2844 but says it has no drivers.

I've tried getting all the various driver packages from Zebra's web page for this model and it simply won't work. Windows says it can't even find a driver for the dang thing.

This is my work computer so I'm kinda SOL til I can figure something out.

I figure someone has to have run into this by now. I tried Googling but found nothing.

Applied New Thermal Paste

Jun 12, 2012

Alright, this was my first time removing the current thermal paste and applying new one, the previous one was tough to remove because it was stone hard, although I didnt remove 100% of it i'd say I took out a good 70-80% of what was there. So when applying it, I hear some ppl say to put as much as the size of a bb just a small dot (this is for my laptop cpu and gpu) which I did, then evenly spread it around with the little spreader it came with. My cpu now gets hotter by 4-5c.

Installing Ups Thermal Printers On Windows 7

Mar 8, 2010

Right let me start of with saying it is a zebra ups thermal lp 2844 printer which is connected to the server.it works fine with all the xp machines ( about 15 of them )we have just got in 4 new windows 7 machines, 2 running 32 bit and 2 running 64 bit.i get different error messages between the 32bit and 64bit machines.Let me walk you through, on BOTH machines i go:start > devices and printers > add printer >add network, wireless or Bluetooth device.it then searches, "connecting to ups thermal 2844 on server" windows cannot connect to the printer. cannot create a file when that file already exists. windows cant find a driver for ups thermal 2844 on th network. to locate on manually, click ok. otherwise click cancel and consult your network administrator or the printer manufactorers website. So i then click ok and point to the correct file, which results in the following message: windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. contact your administrator for help loading and installing a suitable driver. The driver i am trying to use is a new windows 7 driver which i downloaded from zebra.com: ( Driver - Search Results)i have also tried all the drivers we have on our server for these machines and also tried the disk that it comes with.

Desktop Was Shutting Down Because Of Thermal Event

Mar 6, 2012

My desktop was shutting down because of thermal event. I cleaned everything, applied new thermal paste, after that re installed windows but still it beeps when booting and shuts down all of a sudden. Occasionally it worked for an hour or so flawlessly. If it is again because of overheating it should shut down after 5 minutes or so when it heats up not when starting it in morning (after keeping it shut overnight). It shuts down even before booting.

Thermal Pastes And CPU Heat Sink?

Mar 4, 2011

Just a quick one (hopefully). The fans in my PC have been making a lot of racket and I was checking them and cleaning them today and trying to pin point which one was kicking up such a racket.During this I removed my CPU heatsink/fan and gave it a clean, but I wondered if I need to reapply thermal paste? I know when changing you're supposed to put it on, but I thought that as I have removed it, but not changed it, the paste won't be as good a contact between the CPU and the heatsink and won't disperse the heat as well (or maybe hardly at all?)Just checked the temp with only Firefox (and background tasks of course) running, and my Q6600 is running at about 45, 45, 45, 58. The final processor is always the hottest and it says the max it has been was 70.I'm loathe to do to much with the PC (gaming and I've got some videos to transfer to DVD, which always pushes one of the processors) if the lack of paste could damage the processor.

Shutdown Due To "Thermal Event"

Jan 21, 2013

What's happening is my system shuts down almost immediately upon power up. Yesterday I could keep hitting the power button and it would intermittently get a little further into the boot sequence, finally getting to the screen where the "Thermal Event" message displayed and gave options to either hit F1 to continue (where it would usually shut down again), or F2, where I would get into the setup, mess around a little without making any changes, then exit out and the system would boot up and run fine until I powered it down.

The issue began after I installed a new SSD and upgraded to Windows 7. I upgraded from a 32 bit version of XP to the 64 bit version of 7.

I have a toolbar on my taskbar titled "Programs". It has about eight folders in it. I made another toolbar, and placed it directly adjacent to the Programs toolbar, to obscure the eight folders and force it to be a dropdown menu.Trouble is, as soon as I lock my taskbar, right next to the arrow that displays the eight items of my Programs toolbar in menu-form, one of the eight items is showing up as an icon, as if the other toolbar isn't close enough to the Programs toolbar in order to completely obscure the eight items.

How To: Overclocking Your AMD Processor ?

Feb 23, 2009

Tom’s Hardware readers know all about overclocking, of course. In fact, many processor and graphics card reviews would be deemed incomplete without coverage of overclocking potential. Indeed, articles such as the System Builder Marathon series have a long history of specifically valuing performance achieved through overclocking rather than just through stock performance.

If you already consider yourself an enthusiast, pardon a bit of background here--we'll get into the nitty-gritty technical stuff in just a second.

What exactly is overclocking? In a nutshell, the term is used to describe running a component at a higher speed than its specification in an attempt to increase performance. Various computer components can be overclocked, including the processor, memory, and graphics card. And the degree of overclocking can include anything from simply procuring small gains from an inexpensive component all the way to seeking a level of performance way beyond what could even be purchased at that point in time.

Upgrade Bios Without Processor?

After my Z68 Extreme 4 Motherboard died and I had to take out the processor to RMA it, I started considering upgrading. My Core i5 2500k is on ebay and I was going to buy a Core i7 2600k. However, now I am looking towards the Ivy Bridge Processors coming out in the New Year. Apparently they will use the same socket (1155), but the motherboard will need a Bios update. If I don't have a processor until I get the new one, how will I be able to upgrade the chipset so that the new processor will work with the motherboard?

I no longer have any Microsoft Works, or Microsoft Office for that matter, so I can't type besides on Notepad and I would rather not. I tried to install Open Office but it wouldn't install for whatever reason and I am stuck again.

Next Generation OS - Multi Processor Or 128 Bit

Aug 20, 2011

As you increase the number of processors the performance improvement diminishes compared with the expected result -- for instance a system with 8 processors won't perform 8 times faster than a system with one processor due to the ovehead of managing the extra complexity of the interaction of all the processors. (Note the system will still be FAST of course !!).

Now wouldn't it be better to design say 128 and 256 bit architectures in the OS so you could still run many tasks concurrently but without the overhead of the multi processor environment - or at least have far less processors in the MP environment.

it was rumoured a while back that Windows 8 would have some 128 bit possibility -- I don't think there are any commercially available chips yet but thats only a matter of time.

AMD II X4 965 Processor Not Compatible With Mobo

Sep 25, 2011

I have an issue with my system.

- ASUS M4N68T-M LE V2 MoBo
- Processor is AMD phenom II X4 965 Black Edition.
- One Stick of 2Gb memory DDR 3
- ATI Radeon 6870 Sapphire.

If I restart my system (and this happens like out of 100 restarts 97 times) the system would be on the black post screen and say that the CPU is not compatible with my mobo. Then in order to resolve this I have to got to BIOs and turn on all the cpu cores and the unleashing mode under CPU and restart. Then it would reflect that all the **4 cores are active** and then it would work fine. But why does this happen after every restart. I thought it was CMOS battery but the date and time and other BIOS settings are fine.
