i got new internet and new router few days ago and today i fixed my other computerbut fast got a problem. I got the icon at taskbar with network and the yellow triangel over it and when i try trubbelshooting it i get this error.

Now I'm trying to follow your Win 7 Image Backup, I do have a few more older HDD's but I want to use a new 32g Corsair flash, but "Create a System Image" keeps giving me a "the drive is not a valid backup location." Do you have any ideas if/how to get around this??

In the past, I could just plug in to the wired connection and theIn suddenly, it would recognize the wireless. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy company just purchased a new Compaq tower yesterday that came with Windows 7 Home Premium, but the network is still XP pro and so IT used their volume license to format/reinstall the system.
I spoke with my boss and he approved me to take the 7 Home Premium license key for my home Compaq laptop because by the time they upgrade to 7 they would use volume licensing for pro anyway, but then when I spoke with IT he said that the system didn't come with any media.
Is there any way to get Windows 7 Home Premium Media, or to use the system recovery partition from the desktop to create media that I could then use to perform a fresh install of Windows 7 on my home computer? And is it even legal to do so?
I'm trying to install my collection of fonts that i use regularly. All the fonts are Opentype Fonts (.otf) which i know for a fact are working files as i use them on my other box which is running xp.When i try either installing the fonts (right clicking and pressing install) or copy and pasting into the fonts directory i get a message which pops up and says that the file Cannot Install as the file does not appear to be a valid font.

Trying to install office 10 with a USB drive that works. When I try on this one pc it gives me this error. Setup.exe is not a valid win32 app. The pc has XP home edition and I've run ms updates and still get the problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought the Acer Aspire Netbook.I cannot access the internet from my home network for some reason. It recognizes the network and it says i'm connected to it, but wont let me access the internet. When I browse the network connection it says "Limited Connectivity" and depending on the way I diagnose the problem, it either says that im missing a wireless adapter or most commonly, that my IP address is not valid.
My computer was also running the internet very, very slow when I've connected at the school. I had a friend play around with it, and he actually downgraded some of the settings (or something), and it runs a lot better. But it still doesnt solve my home connection.I've browsed many forums and tried a couple things, but im mostly scared to try the in-depth solutions (mostly because im not THAT computer savvy, and since I just bought the computer im scared to remove certain things just in case).These are the specs:

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. Evaluation version 7100. The driver for the ethernet connection is some sort of Intel driver built in with the Dell E520 Motherboard. The thing is, the wireless works. I use a D-Link Xtreme N Desktop Adaptor (DWA-552).
But my computer is in such an awkward location in the house that it's not really an excellent option, so I got 20m of ethernet cable to hook up my PC to the router which is a D-Link DI-614+.
The Router and modem are connected to a PC that is running Windows XP. When I plug in the cable to my computer it sorts it out for a while but it ends up saying it doesn't have a valid IP address?
This only occurs with the ethernet cable and not the wireless. Could this be a case that my computer is too advanced? What if I rolled back to 32-bit or XP? The drivers for the DI-614 are already at the latest, and D-Link discontinued support for it like 5 years ago.
There are several other computers in the network and they work with the ethernet cable and wireless too, but they're all XP. So it's probably something with Windows 7. Having stable connection to the internet is just the main goal I want here.
However, recently my dad needed to reboot our modem several times because he was encountering problems with his laptop. This got the wireless working for a little while, but the need came to restart the modem again, so he did. Unfortunately, this put the wireless on the modem out of action. Originally, my laptop wouldn't even recognize the network's existence, but after a 3-hour-long tech support call to AT&T, our internet service provider, I finally got my laptop to recognize the network. Although the tech support lady through doing numerous things to both the laptop and modem, my laptop still will not connect fully to the network. By "will not connect fully" I mean that it gives me an error message, saying "connection unsuccessful", and on the list of networks, listed next to my network it says "Limited Access".
I've attempted to troubleshoot the problem multiple times, and so far the only thing that comes up is the message "Windows cannot connect to [name of my network]", and something saying I don't have a valid IP configuration. I have full access to the modem's configuration as well, and I've checked the firmware and other things to see if there is a problem with the modem. After numerous tests and diagnostics, nothing seems to come up that says there is anything wrong with the modem, but the limited access problem still occurs for my Dad's, my Sister's, and my laptop
I've had this problem since I bought a new desktop PC with windows 7 installed. Every once in a while my internet stops working (router+modem) and a yellow exclamation mark appears. When I use the windows solution utility I get two different messages:
a)either my wireless network connection does not have a valid IP
b) the default gateway is not available
I am using d-link dwa-127 wireless adapter since my computer does not have an integrated wifi card, and I have already removed norton, which could possibly be blocking my conncection. I have tried setting my IP manually, but it does not work.
At the beginning it all functioned normally, and even now it works, but it did not before. I also noticed that when it does not work it says 'Unidentified network', and when it does it says 'Smuc' (the ssid of our network). The internet as such is working this whole time, I always check it on my laptop with windows XP and an integrated WiFi card.
Computer with new clean install of Windows 7 Home. Yesterday it was connecting to router via LAN (not wireless). Went to sleep last night and had to do hard restart to get it up today. Since then, it is not finding the router via error msg above. I went into Dev. Mgr and told modified Nertwork Adapters to not allow computer to put to sleep. Still same msg. It will connect via wireless but I want to LAN it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy computer ended up with the malicious toolbar iminent. After multiple attempts to remove it I decided to reformat the computer, since my last backup is mercifully recent. However, when I attempted to run a repair disc, but in the middle of this I received the message in the thread's title. What's wrong? Is the repair disc something other than the disc I need? While writing this via my phone I'm currently trying an alternative of restoring my computer from a system image on my backup drive, I don't know if that will solve the problem. But even if it does, I think I should still try to find out what went wrong here for when something goes wrong in the future.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running windows 7 sp1 and downloaded the german language service pack.but i can t install it and at the end of the progress it fails, with out mentioning the reason or giving an error.I didn t do that from windows update because i wanted to have the installation file for the future, after reinstalling windows.By the way, i have enough free space on windows drive, have downloaded the same 32- bit as the system, and the installation file doesn t seen to be corrupted.I also try to install it, instead of double-clicking- by going to region and language sections and install from there, but in browse window i can t give the installion file to it and it says that : no valid installation package is founded in this folder.
