Im having a problem with my wifi connection. My router works just fine. I even enter facebook using the browser of my phone as well as our desktop computer. But in my laptop it cannot recognize the wifi. I restarted it many times, removes the battery in case and restart our router too. but its still not working i tried troubleshooting still not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy desktop has recently been upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate from XP. I set up a home group at another location, then returned the desktop to my normal connection. The wireless card I used was a D-Link that is XP compatible only, and I found this out after attempting to install, then I checked on it later. I deleted the driver, and tried a Netgear WT111G USB wireless card. Install failed, and I went online to look for a compatible driver.
I downloaded a driver, installed it, and the wireless card was detected, but could not connect to the internet. Uninstalled the driver, and tried plugging into Ethernet, and cannot find my home connection. Can only get into network settings (home,work,public).
Has any one here heard about this problem after creating a homegroup? Trying to troubleshoot, but it's a specific problem I'm not familiar with as of yet.
The faulty drivers are no longer on the PC, but it's still unable to find a direct wired connection.
Running W7 Home Premium on HP Pavilion laptop. Also running Panda Internet Security 2012. Recently, it seems that when I try to install new programs or update programs already installed I get a response that an internet connection cannot be found. I have the ability to surf the net, and programs that automatically update themselves are working fine ie: Microsoft Security Updates, Panda, Firefox. Programs that fail to update/install new: Real Player, Google Earth, Malwarebytes and a couple of others. I've tried turning off the firewall to my Panda AV, but still have an issue.

It was working fine then I downloaded a pre-loaded version of Microsoft Office 10 suites and the next time I tried to get online the connection was gone. I connect fine, but once inside everything is unbelievably slow. Everything loads in blocks visually, like puzzle pieces, and will kick me out of the console if I do not input every minute or two. I am told it is the result of using a wireless connection vs "hard-wire." What can I do to "bring it up to speed"?

It currently sports an Intel 4965 AGN ard with Windows 7/8 pre-installed drivers and is connecting wirelessly to a Thomson router.It connects smoothly, but its reception of packages sucks: I can't connect to FTP, load pages at all, and downloads are around 8 kB/s. (Max should be 250 kB/s). So I ran the speed test with my laptop, sure enough it was running at normal speed but my new build is not.I tried internet connection optimize in System Mechanic, and that did not have any affect on performance.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to fix my sisters laptop, which just wont connect to the Internet. I've checked everything I can find. Here's a description of the problem - When looking at the icon in the system tray that shows the connection bars, when I hover over it, it says "not connected - connections are available" . On the related pop-up window It does show my wireless connection. When trying to connect to that wireless network, it eventually says "the connection was unsuccessful - this computer has limited connectivity to "bthomehub.....".
At this point it gives an option to troubleshoot, when I select this it says - "problems found - there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter". If I look at the troubleshooting report from this window it says "windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter". In 'network and sharing centre' it shows the computer being connected to the homehub, but no connection from homehub to the Internet. Attempted to ping ebay, got this response - "ping request could not find host ebay.com please check then name and try again."
Under wireless connection status it says -
"ipv4 connectivity - no Internet access"
"ipv6 connectivity - no network access"
From looking around on the internet I have tried the following -
- netsh winsock reset catalog
- netsh int ip reset reset.log
- reinstalled drivers for wireless network connection adapter
- checked that windows has no restore points
- tried ipconfig /release at command prompt, got the error "the operation failed as no adapter is in the - - state permissible for this operation"
- tried ipconfig /renew at command prompt, got the error "the operation failed as no adapter is in the - state permissible for this operation"
I tried removing various antivirus/system protection apps...at this point I then got a yellow icon over the connection bars in the system tray, and it now says im 'connected'. but it says 'no internet access'. Its a new laptop running windows 7, it did work fine for a while and then suddenly stopped working while connected to the internet.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using a nokia E66 to connect to the internet at home. My pc at home is running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I am currently using nokia pc suite 7.1.40.1. All the software installed without any problems. The problem that I am having is that after I connect to the internet, I can only roughly download / upload about 5MB of data and the connection will time out. I do not get any error messages that is did timeout. The only way I know this is that I stop seeing data being transferred in Network properties.
I then open my e-mail client to see If I can connect with a POP account and then I get an error saying it could not connect to the e-mail account. I then have to disconnect and reconnect and try again. This does not seem to affect web browsing though, only when I am downloading files. Like Steam will start update and stop, windows updates will start download and stop and so on.
I initially thought it was a problem with the network operator, but when I boot back in xp (my pc is set up to dual boot between xp and 7) every thing works fine. No download time outs. Is it the nokia software that is not supporting 7 100% yet or am I missing something else?

I can see in the device manager that there are (intel) drivers that support USB3.0. The external device (WD mypassport) advertises USB 3.0 support. Is there a way to find out in windows 7 (home premium) if the actual usb connection is really using USB3.0 or if it is falling back into USB2? Is the transmission speed in the USB connection the only hint about what is happening in the USB connection. That is, a higher speed means that USB 3.0 is really being used?

Two XP Home computers on my LAN connect OK. The new Windows 7 has problems.After assigning a static IP address of 186.192.2.8 to the Windows 7 computer I can share with the XP computers and sign in on the router. (I have not been able to get Windows 7 to share in the DHCP pool. This inability to obtain a DHCP address also happened on a previous Windows 7 build that I aborted due to mobo issues. Their too I had to assign a static IP address.)AVG Internet Suite firewall network 186.192.2.1 - 2.8 assigned as safe.I get a network picture of the Windows 7 computer connected to an unknown network (public) and a red X between the network and the internet.I tried to rename the unknown network "MSHOME" but have been unable to do so.
