I recently used my new iphone USB got from Fry's (i used before without any problems) to my windows computer -- used itunes no problems -- any backups no problems. Suddenly it stopped working as it is not getting recognized by my computer. Now, getting error 43 on my device manager. I have windows 7 ultimate.I also used my usb with my ipod and iphone to my usb port in my car to use to play music and it cannot recognize it now. My radio turns off when I plug this in. My usb cable is new!! WTH! Then i used another usb in my computer and still won't budge! no recognition? Then used it in my car then to my work computer then to my laptopn and both usb's are not recognized. WTH?Note, all other usb devices work in my computer i.e.: External HDD and mouse/printer BUT my (2) usb cables don't work.
I have a Dell Studio 1569 with Windows 7 Professional x64, 4GB RAM, Intel i5 Core.
When I plug my iPhone into the USB port and open iTunes, iTunes says "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer." Then I'm asked if I want to "Set up as a new iPhone" or "Restore from the backup of:"
I've already connected this phone in the past. However, each time I reconnect, I have to either restore or create a new phone, both of with require deleted and losing info and media on my iPhone.
I've read about the Gigabyte P55 BIOS update. My computer doesn't have a Gigabyte Motherboard. I tried that fix anyway and the program wouldn't let me run it because it's not a Gigabyte product. I've read in some places that on some Dell laptops, the USB ports don't work well with iPhones. That's absurd and I can't imagine that would be the proble; I hope that's not the issue.
It's recognized in device manager as "Unknown device". But I've not connected anything to pc. Also all of my usb ports are working at 1.1 speed. When I try to connect any device, I get the message "that it could work faster, if i connect it to hi-speed usb port".
I am getting a constant error. When the error happens I hear the usb connection alert sound and a pop box appears in the lower right corner of my screen. I tried installing the chipset drivers again and when that didn't work i did a system reinstall. The only us devices I am using is my wired mouse and keyboard. Both usb devices work.
While working on my laptop yesterday evening, my mouse & external hdd stopped responding. On ejecting & re-inserting them both started getting this message 'USB Device Not Recognized'.Now none of my three USB ports are working. Though on cross checking, the devices are working on other machine. The message is getting flashed repeatedly. Also, observed that my battery got drained while it was switched off throughout the night. Have never faced either of these issues with almost 20months of working with Windows 7 Pro.
Ever since I moved into my new apartment a month ago I've been having problems with my USB mouse. I got a new one for christmas and the problems still persist. When i first moved in it was working ok but randomly not working then it finally gave out. Every time i insert the mouse receiver it would be like rolling the dice whether it would work or not. I've tried my tablet and my memory stick as well and those don't work either so i know its not a problem with the mouse.I've looked through forums online and have tried almost everything:I unplugged the power cord waited and plugged it back in.I've uninstalled all of the USB Root HubsI've unchecked the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save powerI've updated my ChipsetI've updated my BIOSI've tried Microsoft FixitI've installed the driver for the mouse from its website.
when i plug my Ipod 4g an message at the bottom of my page says USB Device not Recognized One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.
I keep receiving this popup in the taskbar. Tried disabling it, dindn't work. I wish to rectify this and I believe my computer thinks this device is wrongly connected or faulty when actually none exist. I left all USB ports unused yet I get this problem.
I am trying to connect a Blue Snowball USB Microphone to record stuff with but when I plug it into the USB port it doesn't work. Windows recognizes the device and starts trying to install the drivers but then it fails and gives no explanation. In Device Manager it shows up as "Blue Snowball" but has a yellow exclamation point next to it. When I click on it and try to install drivers it says that there are no drivers available. The light is on the device so it's getting power. I checked their troubleshooting guide and turned the USB cord in the other direction. I've restarted my computer a few times, all to no avail. I am using USB 2.0 ports and my OS is Windows 7 - Professional 32-bit.
I consider the sound card but I can play music and use skype (if I connect a 3.5mm POS microphone to the back) just fine.
I have Kingston 2GB DataTraveler (DT) and windows 7 RTM 64bit does not recognize it when pluged into 2 front usb ports or 2 top back usb ports. Other 6 lower back ports work. I have Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 mobo. This mobo has 8 usb on the back and 2 usb headers. One header is used for Codegen 7in1 cardreader+1usb port, other is used for 2 front panel usb ports. Few things ive noticed:
1) my old apacer mp3 player works on all usb ports.
2) most of new higher capacity usb's are not recognized in those malfuncioning ports
3) if i plug DT into Codegen's USB port, DT is then recognized on all ports
I've read this thread, tried instaling new Intel's Infs, tried removing all usb devices exept Codegen's. No effect. Any suggestions for my case?
I have a WD Passport 160GB portable HDD, which worked fine in XP on the same computer before I installed Windows 7.
As many other people experienced, the once the device is connected, it will show USB device not recognized. However, my mouse and keyboard, which are USB also, are working flawlessly.
Besides the Passport, I have a Maxtor External HDD which is not working also, I tried every single USB port on the computer and it just won't work. And this one is powered by a small power adapter, so it should not be anything related to USB power. On the other hand, the Maxtor HDD is visible from BIOS, just not in Windows 7.
My computer is single boot Windows 7 RC 64bit, clean install.
I'm using Q6600, Foxconn MARS P35 mobo, Seagate 7200.10 250GB HDD, PNY 8600GT, OCZ 2x2GB DDR2 800 ram. I don't think the hardware have any problem since in XP everything worked fine, and all the drivers are up to date according to the device manager in Windows 7.
I have a laser projector, and i control it with my windows seven notebook by usb. Problem is, sometimes by a static shock of other devices or by other causes i do not know of, the notebook suddenly refuses to work with the usb drive anymore and the projector freezes.
but here is the part i want to solve. after replugging the usb drive windows says that the usb device is not regonised.... after plugging out and waiting 2 minutes and then replug makes it work again...if i do it sooner then usally it still shits about the device not being regonised.
I have recently replaced my laptop with a new hard drive and extra 4GB ram slot,My laptop is a samsung np400b5b-s02uk, i've put in a Seagate 750GB SATA-II HD and a 4GB 1333MHZ Corsair Ram slot, I am trying to install Windows 7 Home (x64) onto it, i insert the disc into the drive but a message appears saying boot device not recognised, i've selected it to boot from CD in the BIOS but still nothing.
Whenever I use one of my USB ports, afterwards I get an error that lasts all the time that says USB device not recognized. I have gotten rid of it but then when I go back and use it again, that error pops up. The usb ports work, I use it to download pictures and other things, but I cannot get the error gone. Someone suggested I unplug the internet completely for a few minutes and it would reset itself, but that didn't work. I put the media card usb back into the port and went to where it says it is safe to remove hardware and then took it out, but that didn't work either.
I've been encountering error Code 43.I've tried a lot and I am running out of options.I'm working on an Acer Aspire 5542G.My operating system is Windows 7.The USB device not being recognized is my Wacom Intuos 4 PTK.
- I've de-installed and re-installed my tablet driver.
- I've shut down and turned on the laptop.
- I've returned the laptop to original factory settings.
- I've taken the battery out, and put it back in again.
- I've de-installed and re-installed universal serial bus controllers.
- I've used CCleaner to clear up my register.
- I've used my google-fu to it's full extent, but I haven't found a fix.
I've been having an issue with the xbox 360 wired controller since I built my new pc. When I plug it in via usb the device is not recognized by windows and no matter what I try it simply will not work.
Things I have tried: downloaded chipset drivers downloaded Software Downloads: Xbox 360 Controller for Windows tried the whole leaving the computer and all usb devices unplugged and off for a good few hours. ininstalled all the usb controllers and rebooted tried it in all usb ports, 3.0 and 2.0 searching for hours on google tried enabling/disabling usb legacy support in the bios tried running microsoft fixit thing (whatever that is) tried updating the drivers manually through the device manager but windows insists that the device is up to date. tried uninstalling and removing ethernet cable to try and force me to choose drivers. windows is fully updated I even bought a new controller thinking the last one was broken. The controller powers up when you plug it in, you can clearly see the green lights around the guide button flash but then nothing happens.
I had an "unknown device" show up in devices and printers a couple days ago. It was also listed in device manager and said it was a USB controller. Everything worked and I've not added any new hardware. I have 2 partitions both with Windows 7 and the error showed in both. I've found that others were having the same issue, some needed drivers, some said cables needed replaced. Before I got serious with the troubleshooting, I read up a little and found a forum that said you should shut down then disconnect the power cord, wait a couple minutes then power up. Sometimes the motherboard needs to reboot and the devices will be reloaded or reassigned as they should be. It worked for me, it was an easy fix to an annoying problem.
i just bought a Trust Thinity wireless media keyboard. It comes with no disc or drivers and the usb receiver is just plug and play. When I plug it in it gives me the message "One of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned."If I keep unplugging and plugging back in it eventually picks up the drivers and installs, unitil I switch off my computer and then its back to square one.
All my motherboard drivers are up to date and bios is on latest version. Iv tryed uninstalling all my USB controllers and restarting. Iv even installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 64bit and 32bit to see if that made any difference but it hasnt.
The keyboard is brand new and I have tryed it on XP and it picked it up, installed the drivers and worked straight away.
My win 7 system was up and running without any problems. I don't recall making any changes in hardware, however several S/W updates have been installed.
Suddenly my CD/DVD did not show up in the devices screen (and did not work). It does show up in the bios and the device manager.
If I uninstall it, it comes back into the device manager but it still doesn't show up in the devices with removable storage screen
This all started when one day my G930 Logitech headset started becoming a pain in the ass to use. I had the charging dock plugged into one of the two USB ports behind my HP ZR30w monitor. Then after a few days I began to get a USB Device Not Recognized Error constantly. Like you hear the Windows Pinging sound when you connect and disconnect a USB device all the time. Its like spamming me with the sound. I tracked it down to this USB port, Port_#0001.Hub_#0011 (which is the USB port behind my monitor HP ZR30w, it is the inner most USB on the back.I ran virus scans, spyware scans and nothing shows up, I had to rule out any fishy stuff. I have no idea how to get this error to stop showing up...it literally spams me with the error and sound when nothing is plugged in to that port...as I am typing this its yelling at me.The catch is though, this is when the USB port is empty...nothing is plugged into it...it is like a phantom USB port that is just going haywire...Now if I plug a device in to it...the device works fine and the USB Device error does not show up, but for instance in this case, my G930 headset ends up disconnecting and reconnecting and throwing me errors...Is this a bad USB port? I am running Windows 7 64bit. I tried disabling the USB port all together but it still shows that a device is attempting to connect to that port and is not being recognized. Also I have updated all my drivers, updated my motherboard, the only thing i have not done is reinstall USB controllers but i do not know how to do that. In the process of finding the problematic USB port I ended up mapping all the USB ports and their numbers so how I found out which USB port it was, was due to trial and error and finding it was the one behind my monitor.
Sometimes I am getting the message USB device not recognized when my mouse sticks. I don't know how to check my usb drivers. I am running windows seven. I don"t have another device to try in the USB ports.
get my Windows 7 64 bit PC to reconize my HTC Inspire cell phone. What happens is when I plu it in to any USB port I get an pop up error "USG Device Not Recognized" and looking at my device manager/Serial Bus Controllers it says "Unknown Device". I uninstalled every controller and restarted PC and they re installed and still get the same error. I installed the HTC driver from their web site and still same error. Whats odd it doesn't work on this PC but works on my other laptop.
Is there a way that I can sync my Outlook contacts with my Iphone 4s so that the contact appears as displayed by outlook. Example: Mr. Richard Jones FILE AS: Rich Jones
This is the option to display in outlook and I would prefer to display on phone the same.
I have a 3 Tera HDD. (WD My Book Essential (USB 3.0)). Last night I uninstalled a software which I do not remember its name by mistake. Apparently it was related to my WD hard drive for my computer does not recognize it anymore. I checked my device manager; "Base System Device" is not recognized. I ran windows troubleshooting. It says "Base System Device" Driver is not found. I searched a lot, but I couldn't find the driver. I also ran drive checker software.
It says: Device name: JMB38X SD/MMC Host Controller File name: MSI_GX633_Card For Windows 7.zip Hardware ID: PCIVEN_197B&DEV_2382 I could not find this too. I also have another portable WD which is still recognized by my computer.
i have a problem with my usb mass storage.my usb ports read usb mouse, data cables but they do not read pen drives and as i attach a pd,it shows "usb device not recognized" or "device driver not installed". it was working fine in xp but now in win 7 it doesn't. i have installed all drivers and have tried every software but it doesn't work.
