i have done a memtest and it was successful without fail also this is the 3rd time I have done a clean install before was cause of ntoskrnl.exe so did a clean install now its cause of win32k.sys?

Network Coming And Going
Oct 8, 2009Ive just installed the 64bit signature edition - curtesy of MS and House party. Setup went ok but I am having an issue with my network not staying put. what I mean is that I can click on the network link - go to the network and find maybe my pc and one other. Another time I will find maybe an additional pc or a totally different one or all of them.
But the one Im havng the most problems with is my external drive which is linked direct to the network. If I use its installed software I have no problem but if I try to access it through the network - as I would normally to stream our music - I frequently find it is missing off the list.
What I should have is as follows:
PC1 - me cable connection - Win 7 (64bit retail)
PC2 - son 1 - cable connection - Win 7RC (32 bit)
PC3 - son 2 - cable connection - Win 7RC (32 bit)
Laptop1 - Daughter's - wireless - no problem so far - Vista Home Premium (32 bit)
Drive 1 - external network drive - cable connection
It played up for a couple of hours but at present they are all there but it gets annoying when one or another just seems to disappear for no reason that I can see. Ive checked the various setting and nothing has changed apart from my having done a clean install of Win 7 on PC1. Only thing different on that one is Ive pt on the 64bit version instead of the 32 but I cant believe that that is the cause. Any suggestions?
Many Different Screens On My Computer
Feb 15, 2011Ever since we've got this desktop we seem to have problems with the screens. It's like it randomly chooses different worlds to reside in. We turn on our computer and then it's just our background picture with no taskbar or programs, but if we just turn the monitor off and then on again it goes back to our regular screen. Then once our screensaver picks up and we decide to get back on, it does it again and so on. Sometimes when we minimize things it disappears off into those other worlds (off to the right side of the computer screen somewhere). Does anyone have any clue as to why this is going on? Is there a way to delete those other "worlds" that my computer visits every so often and that all my stuff likes to travel to?

Help With Dual Screens
Nov 24, 2009On my primary monitor I've run a 360 and my Windows 7 p.c into it. I've set up a shortcut hotkey so that I can disable the primary to swap to the 360 when needs be. However I'd like to be able to access the web whilst using my 360 without having to cycle through the monitor menu to swap back. So I got my old monitor on my desk, however I can't think what to do with it. It's got a lower resolution than my primary so simply making it the secondary whenever I want to use the 360 isn't viable (it messes up the icons).
I can't think of any work around, using ultramon and shrinking the main image isn't very good either due to it having both delay and a lower framerate even at the the highest systme usage settings. Can you guys think of any work arounds? I've tried saving the icon positions but then firefox still opens in the main monitor. I really would like to swap monitors on the fly with a hotkey and restore icons later.

Aug 8, 2011would like to add a 3rd monitor to my PC, I understand I need a Graphics card that can support 3 monitors, I think this is ports AGP DMI HDMI if the initials are wrong I am sorry, anyhoo I then have 3 ports to plug into, the question is.. Stay with me I have 2 Hanns G 23" monitors and a HP 24", I would like the HP to be the centre one, in which I do most of my work, the other 2 which I hope can be left and right of centre, going with the graphics card at the moment, I have screen (1) and screen (2) it was simple setup, but I have to push my mouse to the right to get into my 2nd screen thats sits on my left, ok I could place this screen on my right, it's not the point, when I get the 3rd screen will I have the flexibility to make the centre screen i.e the one that will hold my icons etc number 1 screen, then in a perfect world push the mouse to the right and I am in the RH screen, or push the mouse to the left (from centre screen) and I am in the LH screen?

May 6, 2009When Windows 7 shuts does my monitors after 15 minutes of inactivity, it crashes completely when I bring it back.
So when I left for breakfast this morning and came back, I moved the mouse to get the display on again...the mouse moved around for a few seconds then stopped. Freeze. No task manager nothing...I had to pull the plug and restart the computer, and it works fine.
I replicated this as well. I just left it sitting there for 15 minutes, the monitors went off. I went to bring it back and again, freeze.
Only programs that I was probablly running during both instances are uTorrent and Firefox (No-addons, one maybe two tabs.)
My screen saver is set to "none" if that helps. For now, I can alleviate this issue by setting the "Turn Display Off After" to "Never" in the power settings, which is fine with me. I just thought I'd post this up.
ChkDsk Errors Keeps Coming Up
Aug 18, 2012The past few days my computer has been giving me many errors. The way it started were lag spikes. I had opened word to write a bit, and it started lagging alot. My computer has always been fast, and although it could sometimes slightly slow down, it was never this bad. I mean, it was slower than my old laptop with 1gb of ram. I saved and closed word, and went to task manager to troubleshoot if there were problems. All normal. I closed task manager, and went to the start menu to shut down, just in time to get a Bsod. Yes I would love to share any dump files, however i now barely can access it (I just managed to run cmd for a bit) since windows explorer keeps crashing. Ok, so the only thing i know about the bsod is that it gave me the "KERNEL_INPAGE_ERROR", giving the the error code 0x000007e(i think). Also what i noticed was that the error when explorer.exe crashes it gives me the InPage error too. A bit of Google searching easily revealed that the INPAGE ERROR is often related to hard drive problems. Then, the next day, when i restarted the computer it went to chkdsk, (i never scheduled it) and scanned. What caught my eye was that it said "Recovering Orphaned File ### in directory ###, and it said there was not enough space on the drive" (where ### is was a random number that meant absolutely nothing to me) in some points. So the probability that i have a defective drive was getting higher. I decided i needed to do a virus check, but the result was a simple advertising software, which told nothing of the story, so i knew this wasn't a virus cause. I started up my computer, and, although explorer.exe kept crashing literally every 5 seconds, i managed to open up cmd prompt, and typed in "chkdsk /r /f' for a deeper scan. I restarted the system and let it run for a rough 4,5 hours. It founds many bad cluster and apparently "replaced" them. It found bad cluster everywhere on my drive, from files in system32 to my minecraft worlds! Now, I have just started another scan (it is still running) and it pointed out those exact same bad cluster and said it was replacing them.
So the big question is: Is my drive failing? Or is it just windows which is screwed up?
I am really hoping to get over this problem as soon as possible, because, even though i have this laptop i used to write this, my desktop computer is important too.
As for the memory dump files and chkdsk logs, they should be on my computer, and ill post them as soon as chkdsk finishes.
No Sound Is Coming From Speakers
Jan 22, 2012I recently replaced the power supply on my system, and when I fired it back up, no sound is coming from the speakers.I double checked the speakers were working, and they are.I downloaded updated drivers from realtek, even reverted and let windows install it.Checked BIOS to make sure onboard sound was enabled. Tried all the unplugging and replugging tricks. I do get a signal that the CPU is recognising sound in the mixer, but nothing comes out of the speakers.

No Sound Coming From Jack
Apr 12, 2012I've been at this for about six hours and I am stumped. I have no sound coming from any jack on my computer via the onboard soundcard or the front jack. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers from my mobo's disk and went through the realtek website and tried every driver I could find there. The system recognizes the speakers and shows them as putting out sound, but I get nothing. I've even ran through the BIOS to make sure nothing was amiss there.

Random Black Screens?
Nov 25, 2012When I'm using my computer I tend to get a black screen at random times. So far they usually occur while I'm browsing the web and while I'm playing games while on Skype. This happened before and the problem was that I needed a new DVI cable. After getting it fixed it was working fine until about a week ago where I started getting few crashes. Now I'm getting 1 crash everyday.There are times where I go to start my computer, but after the Windows logo I am left with a black screen. I usually keep restarting my computer until it turns on normally. I don't know why but I have a hunch that it might be PSU, temperature, or compatibility problems.I'm not sure if I've attached everything you need, so do let me know if I'm missing anything.
