Can someone help me with how to bring in Internet to the Wireless Network? I am sorry but I don't have enough networking acumen which would enable me to do this without assistance.

Network Coming And Going
Oct 8, 2009Ive just installed the 64bit signature edition - curtesy of MS and House party. Setup went ok but I am having an issue with my network not staying put. what I mean is that I can click on the network link - go to the network and find maybe my pc and one other. Another time I will find maybe an additional pc or a totally different one or all of them.
But the one Im havng the most problems with is my external drive which is linked direct to the network. If I use its installed software I have no problem but if I try to access it through the network - as I would normally to stream our music - I frequently find it is missing off the list.
What I should have is as follows:
PC1 - me cable connection - Win 7 (64bit retail)
PC2 - son 1 - cable connection - Win 7RC (32 bit)
PC3 - son 2 - cable connection - Win 7RC (32 bit)
Laptop1 - Daughter's - wireless - no problem so far - Vista Home Premium (32 bit)
Drive 1 - external network drive - cable connection
It played up for a couple of hours but at present they are all there but it gets annoying when one or another just seems to disappear for no reason that I can see. Ive checked the various setting and nothing has changed apart from my having done a clean install of Win 7 on PC1. Only thing different on that one is Ive pt on the 64bit version instead of the 32 but I cant believe that that is the cause. Any suggestions?

May 6, 2009When Windows 7 shuts does my monitors after 15 minutes of inactivity, it crashes completely when I bring it back.
So when I left for breakfast this morning and came back, I moved the mouse to get the display on again...the mouse moved around for a few seconds then stopped. Freeze. No task manager nothing...I had to pull the plug and restart the computer, and it works fine.
I replicated this as well. I just left it sitting there for 15 minutes, the monitors went off. I went to bring it back and again, freeze.
Only programs that I was probablly running during both instances are uTorrent and Firefox (No-addons, one maybe two tabs.)
My screen saver is set to "none" if that helps. For now, I can alleviate this issue by setting the "Turn Display Off After" to "Never" in the power settings, which is fine with me. I just thought I'd post this up.
ChkDsk Errors Keeps Coming Up
Aug 18, 2012The past few days my computer has been giving me many errors. The way it started were lag spikes. I had opened word to write a bit, and it started lagging alot. My computer has always been fast, and although it could sometimes slightly slow down, it was never this bad. I mean, it was slower than my old laptop with 1gb of ram. I saved and closed word, and went to task manager to troubleshoot if there were problems. All normal. I closed task manager, and went to the start menu to shut down, just in time to get a Bsod. Yes I would love to share any dump files, however i now barely can access it (I just managed to run cmd for a bit) since windows explorer keeps crashing. Ok, so the only thing i know about the bsod is that it gave me the "KERNEL_INPAGE_ERROR", giving the the error code 0x000007e(i think). Also what i noticed was that the error when explorer.exe crashes it gives me the InPage error too. A bit of Google searching easily revealed that the INPAGE ERROR is often related to hard drive problems. Then, the next day, when i restarted the computer it went to chkdsk, (i never scheduled it) and scanned. What caught my eye was that it said "Recovering Orphaned File ### in directory ###, and it said there was not enough space on the drive" (where ### is was a random number that meant absolutely nothing to me) in some points. So the probability that i have a defective drive was getting higher. I decided i needed to do a virus check, but the result was a simple advertising software, which told nothing of the story, so i knew this wasn't a virus cause. I started up my computer, and, although explorer.exe kept crashing literally every 5 seconds, i managed to open up cmd prompt, and typed in "chkdsk /r /f' for a deeper scan. I restarted the system and let it run for a rough 4,5 hours. It founds many bad cluster and apparently "replaced" them. It found bad cluster everywhere on my drive, from files in system32 to my minecraft worlds! Now, I have just started another scan (it is still running) and it pointed out those exact same bad cluster and said it was replacing them.
So the big question is: Is my drive failing? Or is it just windows which is screwed up?
I am really hoping to get over this problem as soon as possible, because, even though i have this laptop i used to write this, my desktop computer is important too.
As for the memory dump files and chkdsk logs, they should be on my computer, and ill post them as soon as chkdsk finishes.
No Sound Is Coming From Speakers
Jan 22, 2012I recently replaced the power supply on my system, and when I fired it back up, no sound is coming from the speakers.I double checked the speakers were working, and they are.I downloaded updated drivers from realtek, even reverted and let windows install it.Checked BIOS to make sure onboard sound was enabled. Tried all the unplugging and replugging tricks. I do get a signal that the CPU is recognising sound in the mixer, but nothing comes out of the speakers.

No Sound Coming From Jack
Apr 12, 2012I've been at this for about six hours and I am stumped. I have no sound coming from any jack on my computer via the onboard soundcard or the front jack. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers from my mobo's disk and went through the realtek website and tried every driver I could find there. The system recognizes the speakers and shows them as putting out sound, but I get nothing. I've even ran through the BIOS to make sure nothing was amiss there.

Mar 3, 2012I've recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 using the x64 version.I've had hardly any improvements in performance that even amount to the problems I've been having. Perhaps it is due to hardware issues or if it is my computer being outdated. I am running a 2009 Asus i7 CG5290 computer, which came with Vista.my issues are:
1. Randomly my keyboard will blink and my mouse will stutter, and I cannot type without the keyboard acting on its own. If I enter a sentence the registry for space will go out and other times I will have eeeeeeeeeeee typed when I pressed e once.
2. Occasionally my internet will go haywire, dropping from 20 mbps to 1.3 mbps. These spikes are incredibly annoying and when they do occur, the above issue happens and my mouse pointer will be freezing around everywhere.
3. My computer will freeze, often playing MW3 or watching a video, and a loud, very eerie buzzing noise will start up, and a blue screen will occur. I have not been able to further ***** the blue screen because the information that pops up will disappear as my computer shuts off almost immediately.
The first and second issues usually fix itself temporarily if I do a hard reset on both my computer and modem/router. The third issue has prevented me from playing games on Steam, as my internet connection always blows out after playing for a few minutes. I'm thinking that I have a virus, but Malware Bytes hasn't given me any positives.If there is any other information I can provide to help resolve this issue, please do not hesitate to ask.
Random BSODs After Coming Out Of Sleep
Apr 30, 2012I've been having problems with random BSOD's when i'm coming out of sleep mode on my laptop. Most of the time I can bring the computer out of sleep with no issues but every month or so it will crash with a BSOD within 5 seconds of waking up. I can't seem to reproduce the issue, it just happens at random. I attached two dmp files that may be relevant to the issue as well as screenshots from CPUz and the HTML report from RAMMon.

The problem is that it is not working on my other HP laptop (HP Compaq 6730B), wherein I really intended to use the Bluetooth headset as this is my personal laptop.It looks like there is nothing wrong with the headset itself as it works with other computers.The device pairing works well, the drivers were automatically installed and Windows said it is ready to use. I can see the headset in the audio devices. I can also see it from the mixer window. When I test it, I can see green bar coming up but no sound coming out from the headset. I also tried to do the following:1. Make the headset as the default audio device2. Download and installed WIDCOMM BT drivers3. Tried to upgrade the drivers from the driver details4. Remove and paired several timesI am running out of ideas of things to do.

Sep 14, 2010My computer runs Windows 7 Home Premium.I have been going through my Library directories, (in particular my Document directory), doing some housekeeping. You know the procedure, deleting old files which are no longer relevant and deleting stuff that I no longer want and stuff that somehow I have repeatedly located in different directories, getting everything rationalised and organised.The sort of files that I am deleting are Word and Excel files, .pdf Adobe files, downloaded program files that I scan prior to installing, zip files and folders and folders containing files - nothing out of the ordinary really!A couple of days later I notice those damned files that I know I deleted, (and I made sure that the Recycle Bin was cleared out too), have all somehow been reinstated to exactly where I deleted them from.I do perform a backup to an external hard drive once a week. The drive is a Seagate and I am using the Seagate backup software, but this shouldn't be causing this - should it? I'm only backing up, I'm not asking for it to restore anything.
