Jul 19, 2012i listen to some lectures on Internet, and they were recorded in mono, such that using headphones i hear them only on one ear. is there an application or a tweak that can temporarily produce mono sound instead of stereo?

Aug 10, 2012Sony Vaio VPCSA290S Laptop purchased 1 year ago. Win7 SP1,Bluetooth device: Foxconn-T77H114-BCM2070 drivers up to date (to the best of my knowledge and hours of searching)I recently purchased a Bose Soundlink bluetooth speaker. I cannot get it to successfully pair with my laptop. When I add the device it installs 3 additional drivers, adds itself to my bluetooth devices but will not work (ie make noise). The speaker does not complete the pairing like it does with my phone (it beeps and an indicator light appears). When I right click the soundlink icon in bluetooth devices and select the control header i get a "the device fails to initialize..." message. (perhaps i am not meant to be able to access the device in this manner i don't know). I have re-installed the drivers for my internal bluetooth device twice. I have tried every combination of steps from the Bose troubleshooting "guide" in their manual and on their website (resetting the device, resetting the bluetooth memory, distance from laptop, other bluetooth devices turned off, etc). I have searched the internets for hours now and am unable to find a similar situation (though sometimes i miss things right under my nose). I have a feeling it is software related, as I have checked device manager, bluetooth settings over and over and it says that my bluetooth radio is functioning fine

Jan 23, 2011I have bought a Bluetooth keyboard for my PC (running a Windows 7 64bit OS) and while I am able to successfully install and pair the device, I find that each time I either switch off the device (or PC) and switch either back on again I cannot re-establish the connection unless I remove the device and re-install and pair it once more? Surely it isn't necessary to have to follow this procedure every time I wish to use it...or is it?

While the pc is shut down, the dongle remains lit with a "standby" power supply, If i remove the dongle and reconnect it, even if the pc is off, the problem repeats itself.same goes if i disconnect the pc from the wall outlet.Apparently the dongle has to remain "powered" for it to remember all the pairing and devices info.this is quite annoying, because i have to whip out my wired keyboard to re-pair every time this happens.

Oct 23, 2011vizio tv has "rgb pc" connector as well as an audio port. I am told to hook rgb(VGA) cable from acer pc directly to the rgb port on tv. In addition, I am told to hook up a stero mini jack cable to the audio port. My question is whether this is the way it should be done. Why does the tv have 2 HDMI jacks if you aren't going to use them?
Wouldn't the HDMI connection be much clearer?

May 24, 2012I can't get my Nokia Bh-905i headset to pair up with my computer's usb bluetooth dongle, but it will pair up with my wiimote in a second. When trying to connect the 905i headset, it's stuck on "connecting to device" screen, which I am never presented with a pairing screen. Then it reports an error 0x80004005. I have tried installing broadcom's drivers, removing registry keys, new bluetooth profile name [Device Manager > Bluetooth > Advanced Name], and pairing multiple times and rebooting.I don't understand what is going wrong, the bluetooth adapter works with wiimote, a lot of people have no problem at all pairing up with their 905i headset, broadcom's drivers is suppose to be the end-all fix for bluetooth issues, but yet nothing has fixed it.

This cable provider we just switched to does not offer international channels (in this case Italy's RAI international). Is it possible to hook a PC up to a TV for the sole purpose of streaming that channel? I know there are several sites that let me stream that channel. What hardware would I need? Do I need to worry about graphics card limitations? Internet connectivity won't be an issue. Would I need a remote control or a certain software package for this? Will TV have to have certain adapters to act as the monitor? Are there any software packages that act as a DVR?The TV in question is a Panasonic Viera, 36" I believe. The side connections are HDMI, RCA Vid/Aud and the has HDMI, component in and Video in.

Oct 23, 2012I recently upgraded to an SSD. I moved windows 7 over to the new SSD and re-aligned the partition properly The drive setup is as follows:
2x 500GB WD Black drives in RAID 0
1x 120GB ADATA S510 SSD
In BIOS, RAID mode is enabled. You cannot enable RAID for one pair of drives and AHCI separately. I was assuming disks that are not part of the logical RAID volumes would be set to AHCI automatically. I have enabled NCQ in AMD RaidExpert for the SSD.WEI is 5.9 for the primary disk. The primary disk is the SSD.Other strange behanivour is that the RAID array and the SSD both appear as SCSI devices in device manager, and Windows won't accept the ahci drivers from ECS.
External Speakers Work, Laptop Speakers Do Not
Dec 12, 2009I have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have recently upgraded to windows 7 professional (32bit) from windows vista. Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?

Dec 7, 2012I have a Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme PCI-Ex, and Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX speakers. All speakers work; all software, drivers and codecs are up-to-date. Recently I noticed that in the Speaker Setup screen, the test button only results in sound from the left and right front speakers.
I checked because after a VLC update, mkv files no longer played correctly in the 5.1 mode. Music played, but the voices were muted (while no speakers are muted, and all are connected). I have to select "2 front, 2 rear" Audio Device in order to hear the speech as well.
I have the same problem when playing movies in PowerDVD, where I have to select the 2-speakers setting in order to hear all the sound.
Note:
- Previously the test button did sound all 5 speakers
- The test button on the Logitech remote still sounds all 5 speakers
I have Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit.

Stereo Mix Is Not Showing Up?
Dec 28, 2011So i got a problem and i cant reslove it. its about the stereo mix .the problem : i think (not sure) that i enabled the stereo mix by Fraps (recording program) where there was a recird Windows 7 sound > stereo so i checked it and then i couldn't talk anymore on the mic that i have. I knew that my problem is stereo mix because when i open the ts and try to talk they hear waht my computer is doing (playing music .. etc...) I tired to put show disabled divices and show disconnected devices but it didn't show up to disable it Tired to install the latest version of my sound card which is : High defenition audio but it didn't show up tooTried also to unistall then install .. the same didn't show up..

Jun 10, 2012For some reason, awhile back, I used to be able to record with Stereo Mix on Audacity, Hypercam, even to other people on Skype. But all of a sudden, out of nowhere, it just stopped working. There was a time where it said it was unavailable, but now it says it is working, but when I try to record sound using Stereo Mix, it either doesn't record the sound, or the program doesn't recognize that Stereo Mix exists.I have "Realtek AC'97 Audio for VIA (R) Audio Controller" under my Stereo Mix properties (I'm guessing that's like the driver or audio device name). When I try to record in Audacity, I get a message saying "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate." The input device (the Realtek AC'97 I'm guessing) says it's "working", and the project sample rate is the exact same as it says in my recording settings. My guess is that Audacity doesn't see "Stereo Mix" or "Realtek AC'97" as a device currently on my computer, which doesn't make any sense, cuz my computer says otherwise. It also doesn't make sense, because I'm able to select "Stereo Mix" as a device for recording IN Audacity itself.
I've read other posts about this problem, and none seemed to be of any help (I've tried the solution posted but didn't fix it). Is it because my "Stereo Mix" isn't set up to my speakers or something? Is it because I have Realtek AC'97 and not the HD one? Could it have something to do with my current USB Microphone (which that seems to work just fine for recording)? I dunno, like I said, it "used" to work, but just suddenly, out of nowhere, didn't work anymore.By the way, It is set as the default device, and is enabled and says it's "working". It also does not have any green bars next to it (or lack thereof), and in the properties, I do not see a "listen" tab.
