This update failed to install (several times), even when done alone. First time since building system where it has failed an update. Only thing I have added since original build is a EVGA GTX 650 video card (last week).

Nov 27, 2012I have 4 Win 7 computer that will not up-date, Windows shows 21 updates available (all 4 computers show same), upon reboot system says "Updates Failed". Each computer upon reboot dsiplays an error message saying the "updates failed". rinse - repeat.This started with one computer about a month ago, I now have 4 that are doing it. I have scanned with Combofix, Superantispyware, Rkill, Symamtec's Endpoint, eSet on-line, Panda on-line, Malwarebytes, JRT, ADWcleaner, CCleaner, FSS, awsMBR, and tried the MS FIXIT.
I also tried this procedure:
1) Disabled Windows update Service
2) Deleted all files in c:\windows\softwaredistribution\datastore and deleted files in c:\windows\softwaredistribution\download
4) 3) Downloaded and installed the most up to date Windows Update Agent.
5) Restarted Windows Update Agent, made sure Workstation and Background Intelligent Transfer Services were running.
6) Ran the MS Mr. Fixit program to repair update issues.
7) Ran the Windows update. 21 updates to install (as always).
8) Rebooted
9) Guess what, same issue!
I tried this on ALL 4 COMPUTERS I have with this SAME issue, 2 of which are on the same domain, the other two are laptops. ALL 4 FAILED. All four (4) again show the need to receive 21 updates. All 4 were again ran through the update process, all four (4) again failed post re-boot to take the updates (message stated �up-dates failed� post re-boot)

Nov 22, 2012I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and have been for years. I have had no problems previously that I was unable to fix.
This morning when starting up my pc I got the error message "Failed to connect to a windows service" In addition it has defaulted to windows classic theme and I can not re enable Aero.
I looked at the Event log but it is simply beyond my level of understanding how to address the errors. Also all errors shown seem to be relativity longstanding/ recurring.

Nov 25, 2012I just recently built a new computer and i decided to see how much more speed i could get out of my processor with amd overdrive's autoclock feature. it brought it from 3.1 GHZ to 3.2, and it wasn't stable so i just reset the settings back to default. I also tried overclocking my graphics card with MSI afterburner and it wasn't stable or worth the tiny bit of extra fps so i clicked reset to default. now whenever i shutdown my pc and turn it back on it says "overclocking failed" and then it takes me to my bios screen where it says that settings have been changed in the advanced section in my bios, so i go there and click the reset to default button.when i boot into windows i get weird lines and purple squares and then the screen flashes and it says that my display drivers have stopped working. so my computer is unusable and i have spent alot of money building it and i don't know what to do!

Nov 13, 2009Cannot run my Lexmark productivity Studio. When I try to open it I get a notification that I need to download net frame work 2.0. (running windows 7 64 bit) EVERY download Microsoft has for 64 bit net frame work 2.0 will not install. I have uninstalled the Lexmark printer, tried every version of 2.0 and still cannot get the Lexmark Studio to run. When the printer was first installed , the Studio program worked.
The error would pop up , I would clear it and then the program ran. I run the troubleshooter and it says the program is incompatible now. I have tried running it in different compatibility modes with no luck. Tried Lexmark support and so far they have been no help. can any one help me?

By never going on line, I think this is the greatest virus protection ever. Anyway, to install the Framework 4 from Microsoft, one of the requirements is to be on line, which I do not want to do. are by default unchecked for me. When I check them, I get the following message:
"An error has occurred. Not all of the features were successfully changed." When I click ok, I says it needs to restart to apply the changes. After restarting and going back to the same places, the above two boxes are still unchecked.
Any information as to why this might be and what can be done to ratify the situation would be most welcome. I need to open a program which requires Net Framework.
.Net Framework Issues
Oct 22, 2009I downloaded and installed windows 7 (i did the upgrade from vista, not a clean instal) upon its release last night, and now when i start the computer up i get an error that says i need the .NET Framework 2.0. I looked through the computer and i have version 3.5.whatever.
This is pretty frustrating.
Additionally, i get an unknown error when i've tried to install windows live, both via windows update and when i dl the .exe from the website. i am not sure if the two are related or not.
I did the student discount if that makes any difference.

It gets about halfway through the installation and a window pops up asking for me to open the location of an .msi that is not there.
