I recently tried using my computer and it keeps giving me the error "windows cannot find (filepath) make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again" and apparently im not administrator anymore and i cant open anything but google chrome help!

Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again"" .The same message appeared when opening regedit and other files on C:.
Ever since my touchpad also doesnt work in between.I mean sometimes it works and sometimes doesnt.
When I click on the Windows 7 start button and type in a file name into the search box, very often files I know that exist on my hard drive are not listed in the indexI went into Indexing Options where it shows about 4000 files index (seems low), Local Disc (C) is listed under indexed locations.Is there any way to fix this problem so that ALL of my files on my hard drive are indexed, so I can quickly find them via the Windows 7 Start menu search box?

" everytime i try to start google chrome. Other programs like games also creates error, some with different error codes like (0xc0000185).Steam has creates a different error which says " Steam.exe(main exception): Unable to load library SteamUI.dll, Win32 Error 121 "The semaphore timeout period has expired."However, some programs like internet explorer, photoshop and microsoft office would work, which i suspect is because they are 64bit softwares.

Sometimes when I lag and Im typing my words Im typing will type out twice and overlap in sentences. In the screenshot I have included you can see this. I tried typing "I know theres ppl who work for little pay", and it overlapped. This issue used to happen on my old computer which was Windows XP but it only had 1 gb of RAM I know have 2gb and I thought I wouldnt be dealing with lag issues as often.

View 4 Replies View Related#1. I changed the windows password for a user. After that, I am not able to login if I type the password in key board. If I type same password using On-screen keyboard option of Ease of access, I am able to login.
I thought it could be issue with key board. After login, I checked all keys are working fine.
#2.Due to issue #1, I created one more user and added it to administrator group. I am able to login to windows with this new user with password typed in keyboard. But after login when i type some characters, it displays other characters. For e.g., when I type '', it shows '#'

The hard disk has a legitimate Recovery partition of HP (which was active and primary) and another data partition. It has 40 gb of free space. Even if I select like 1 or 10 or 20 gb it still gives 0x8004240F error. I made several commands (after installing Windows 7) like bootrec /fixmbr /fixboot /rebuildbcd and they didn't detected the Win 7 I managed to install BUT I made it's partition in Acronis Disk Director suite. After each restart Windows 7 wanted to start chkdsk on drive C (the Win 7 drive) automatically.
Also the system thinks there is an older version of Windows but there isn't. The partition I created with Acronis was reported Primary in acronis, but in Win 7 installer it was reported as logical... Currently it is reported as Extended. Paragon partition manager reported that some partition overlaps another and this must be the key to solving the problem. But why fixboot and fixmbr didn't worked? I even tried them on the other data partition. I haven't modified the Recovery partition only made it hidden and not active. How to check the partition table for errors and fix them so Windows 7 won't get this error?
I have HP laptop with windows 7 ultimate. Sometimes my keyboard is messed up (i.e. typing letters shows numbers) and after restart or log off and log in again, the keyboard goes back to normal. The problem has repeated several times and I don't know the reason

Specs: MSI X58 mobo, Intel Core i7, 16g ram, gForce 9500 video with dual DVI out, 740g drive, Win 7 Pro 64b.
I built this machine and it has been running great for months and last week it started to freak out. My wife was having issues with Word crashing; started just after the updates from last week (smells funny). I figured, well, I can't see any problems, more than likely a bad update, MS will fix this week.Well, no. It's gotten worse. I started getting the 1719 error, and have searched the web high and low for anything to fix it. I followed instructions that don't work (or don't work anymore). I can't reinstall windows, because the disc is now so old, vs the updated service packed version on the machine.I tried a fix from MS to fix installer issues, but it died on the vine - can't find the server, try again later.The guts of the problem? I have a number of stuck windows updates just dying to be done, but they won't install. One does, but it's back upon reboot.
As soon as I log in Acrobat 8 Standard tries to update; but I get the 1719 error and the update ends. Same with office. It has apparently tried to install SP3, but with zero success.I can run it from the run line in the start box but when I click on Word, it wants to finish SP3, but blows when it can't find it.
I am using Internet Explorer 7 and am coming across a highly annoying issue.. I open up two separate internet windows bc I use one for work-related sites and one for personal sites. Whenever I type the letter "c", the screen will jump from where I currently am to another window and minimize both internet explorer windows (but not completely.. just makes them a step down from maximized).

I tried all tools from system recovery like startup repair system restore and none seem to work also i get a message in the system recovery box Operating system:Unknown on(Unknown)Local Disk
my laptop is an asus k53s model with a 750hdd ntfs format i used gparted to make new partitions out of the 750hdd.
Nothing seems to work and id rather not make a clean install because i have very important files on it that i cant afford to lose.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI swear I am hitting every problem possible with this computer!! After much frustration for two days, I have done a clean Win 7 Ultimate install. I am running a SSD/HDD combo. Intel Rapid Storage kept flagging my mechanical drive as faulty (even after I reset it back to normal). I got tired of the message and just turned off the feature... I have been having trouble making a backup image. I REALLY need a backup disk since I had to turn off "System Restore Points" so that it wouldn't bloat my SSD. I noticed that it will successfully go through making a backup of my C drive (the SSD) and when it hits the mechanical drive, the backup will fail and I will get the 0x8078015b error.
Does anyone know how to fix this or what I can do to make a backup without using the Win 7 utility? Is my mechanical drive really faulty?? Is it my external that I am trying to make the backup to being faulty?I saw someone else with this same problem and even after getting all new drives twice, the problem persisted and it never seemed to get resolved... My HDD is a WD Caviar Black 750 GB. I really need this computer up and running ASAP and as I have purchased the mech.
Want to know if their is anyway to make my laptop startup w/o showing error when it doesnt properly shutdown.My keyboard shorted out,wiggled the ribbon & the connector came off the motherboard.I have no usb keyboards.So if i don't shut down properly,it shows the error message with options.Usually startup repair is highlighted by default.And since I have no keyboard to change the option,it starts that automatically after countdown & I can't cancel it.
It's very irritating.I just been using the on screen keyboard,I actually don't mind that.I know just shutting it down properly will fix this.But their is times where I lose power to laptop sometimes.Im not a noob,I normally leave my laptop plugged up w/o battery when I use it.Sometimes the plug comes out(dogs knock it out etc.).I know most laptops are supposed to stop sending a charge to batt once it's 100%.But I think it's bs & don't trust it.My preference & opinion
my iMac pc that has windows 7 stopped working, it keeps running the automated start repair and keep restarting after it tells me it has a problem, and when it says it fixed it, it just keeps going in a loop with the start repair, and i can't seem to access any way to boot the pc cuz it keeps telling me that it can't find the OS Loader after i had a powersurge, i need some help, i even tried making a disk partition of Windows 7 install to a USB and when i plug it in, it wont give me an option to boot from it and i even tried the Windows 7 Install CD and it still doesn't work, cause when i start the pc it shows a gray screen, till it says loading windows files, then it goes right to the automated start repair thing, and its driving me nuts!
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Windows XP, when I clicked "Run" on the Start Menu, opening up a box to type commands into, I would also see a list of recently typed commands, that I could choose from. I found this handy, as one often uses the same command more than once, and then one does not need to type it again.
That does not work for me in Windows 7, SP1. The Run box works, but I never see commands that I typed in before, and I always have to type in the commands from scratch.
How can I get that (list of recently typed commands) back into the Run box in Windows 7? A registry tweak?
I don't know if it is just my system, or whether that capability is turned off by default in Win 7. The default should be ON, however, as I think it was in XP, as I think most users would find that convenient.
I have a Sony Vaio Z VPCZ128 GG laptop with windows 7 professional preinstalled. I use a 3G usb modem to connect. Everything worked fine until a few weeks ago. Now when I try to open any dialup connection I get the error: Cannot load the remote access connection manager service. Error 711: the operation could not finish because it could not start the remote access connection manager service in time. Please try the operation again. See attached image. My services are as follows:
1. Remote access connection manager. Not started
2. Secure socket tunneling protocol service. Started
3. Telephony. Started When I try to start the Remote access connection manager, I get the error: Windows could not start the Remote access connection manager service on local computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified. See attached image. Is there any way to solve the problem without having to reinstall or upgrade windows?
