I am typing away whether it be an email forum reply or in note book and not noticed I've had caps on, I've done this a few times. Is there an easy way to highlight text and swap between upper and lower case?

Everyday I upload some files to my website and to simplify my website operations, I use the same filename and just upload a file with new information every day. The case of file extensions is of no consequence to Windows 7, but it matters to my website. I want to standardize on one case and it doesn't matter which as long it's the same all the time. I have one app, the snipping tool, which seems to generally make files using uppercase, but I have some existing files that are lower case. I have tried to get rid of the lower case extensions by deleting the file and then recreating it with the same name. When I do, Windows changes the case from upper to lower. If I simply create a brand new file with no previous instances of that file in existence (as far as I know), then the default case is upper. How does one go about converting all existing files of a particular type to a standard file extension case, be it upper or lower.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor unknown reason, I suddenly encountered problem with highlighting text on Internet Explorer (8) and words document (office 2003). I also have problem with dragging a cell (for copying a formula) to other cells in excel. I tried to play around with my keyboard (pause/break and scroll lock key), sometimes it worked for once, but I it won't work the next time I tried.
FYI, I am using windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and a razer keyboard (using windows default driver). I probably can try to install the driver from razor, however, i thought there is probably a simple fix for the issue i.e. a certain key from the keyboard got activated by accident (my little daughter sometimes punched the keyboard for fun).
I noticed that my current resolution is set automatically by Windows 7 to the max on a 22'' screen which is 1680*1050 at that high resolution everything is super sharp and crisp.. But if i try to go a little lower, even by one step, the text and the objects seem a little bit less sharp. For example if I go to the 1280*1024 resolution, like I am used to while running windows XP, the sharpness fades a little bit..

This is a minor problem, but annoying. Searched but couldn't find anything, probably because I dont' know the search terms for it. Anyway, in the taskbar you can pin programs, and if the program is active, it usually highlights the icon - if it is working as it is supposed to work. This is the case for every program on my taskbar, except for firefox. Instead of highlighting it, it opens a new icon on the task bar, and this is what is bugging me. Its a waste of space and its deceptive when I glance towards the firefox icon that I pinned, and find it dull, but to the right there is another firefox icon that is highlighted, showing it is activeI've tried unpinning and repinning and reinstalling firefox, but the problem remains.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to select multiple files in a long row of files, to do this I drag a selection box to select all of the files I want. The problem is that I can't scroll with the mouse wheel while either of the mouse buttons is held down, or at least not outside of the library. The 'library' sub-folders are the only locations in explorer that this still works in (it works everywhere else, like browsers).Recently installed QTTabBar and Classic Shell, I also ran four .bat/registry files....Explorer_Auto_Arrange.bat Disable_Numerical_Sorting.bat/Enable_Numerical_Sorting.reg After uninstalling the two programs and running the Disable files, I still can't select and scroll in folders outside of the library. I don't think it's my mouse either because, as I said, I can do it in the libraries and the browsers; and I have a Wacam Bamboo Tablet which let's me click and after clicking with it and trying to scroll with the mouse, it still doesn't work.

I know this sounds pretty silly but ive been using this hotkey for years and have gotten very used to it and this new way is definately not as efficient!
You know the highlight color for when you click on icons is blue, I'm not talking about the thing in the Advanced Options under personalization, but the color that highlights the icons when you click on them. I want to change that from blue to red, and I don't know how. I think there is a registry key you need to modify to do it. I did it in linux, but this is Windows.

Here's a picture to show you what I mean. I did some searching and found there is no up front way to do this, as it requires modifying some (system) files. View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I lag and Im typing my words Im typing will type out twice and overlap in sentences. In the screenshot I have included you can see this. I tried typing "I know theres ppl who work for little pay", and it overlapped. This issue used to happen on my old computer which was Windows XP but it only had 1 gb of RAM I know have 2gb and I thought I wouldnt be dealing with lag issues as often.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc.
Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview".
I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.
I I just lost an important function. When I store important websites I'm working on, I just type the complete URL on the Wordpad page I'm working on. For, instance,[URL]Then when I click on the URL it will open up the website. Somehow, I just lost that capability. How do I get it back.

I thought it could be issue with key board. After login, I checked all keys are working fine.
#2.Due to issue #1, I created one more user and added it to administrator group. I am able to login to windows with this new user with password typed in keyboard. But after login when i type some characters, it displays other characters. For e.g., when I type '', it shows '#'
I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.
If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.
I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.
How do I insert my pictures inside the text or beside the text so it won't use so much space?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of the sudden, when I want to copy and paste something in the same document, the formatted text (whether that be a certain font or bold) does not transfer over to the pasted text. For instance, if I wanted to copy the following bolded word word and then paste it anywhere else in the document, I now get this: word (without the bold). This applies to other cutting and pasting problems: this applies to other fonts and formatting (bold, my Greek font, etc).One more example: before today, if I wanted to cut a text out of my New Testament Greek program right in the middle of a paragraph, the Greek font (or whatever font) would paste normally no matter what font the target MS Word text was in.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop (IDE/PATA) running Umbutu 12 and our laptop (SATA) craped out but the OS is fine (it the CPU that died.) So I slapped it into a usb case and plugged it into desktop.
with the IDE unplugged it boots to Windows so I know that works. but with the IDE in it boots to Umbutu i have modified the bootloader so there is a choice to boot into one or the other. But when I boot windows I'm getting a loop of "windows is loading files..." then reboots. I know when in the laptop i can get to the user screen but not in the desktop.
I've migrated the drive between laptops before but it doesnt work this way
Summer is coming up and I want to get started on my summer project plans, notably, my compulator case. Last summer, I rebuilt the case, now I'd like to expand further some. My first question I'd like to pose is about fan noise. I currently have two Vantec 92mm Tornadoes running, but on the 5V, the sound of them on 12V is demonic simply put (need a fan controller). My intake fan on the bottom front of my case is inset about three inches.

Having a difficult problem with my internet connection and I still haven't been able to isolate the problem. My ISP was no help at all and I'm stuck with getting constant error 101. Been reading around and still haven't been able to find an answer.So far I've tried the usual troubleshooting from power cycling, resetting, and switching out the modem. I've tried ping and speed tests and everything looks to be fine.I'd have to click a link or refresh several times before I can actually to get to the webpage, though if I were to leave it there I'd get the error 101. It's also affecting my Steam program where the main store page would get 3 different errors. error 101, error -7 and another one i can't seem to remember.It worked fine several days ago, and I've even tried reformatting my hard drive and still no luck. I've checked the proxy thing and tried /flushdns. This is happening across multiple computers so I figured it wasn't just mine. The ISP said that they see no problems on their end and everything looks fine.

With a lot of the newer psu's the fan is on the top of the unit and not the back like mine. As I have no way to mount the psu at the top of the case (my case and board are both btx). I also have no vent holes at the top of the case. So am I able to mount it at the top with the fan blowing down? Will this cause any heat or ventilation issues in the case itself?
