I installed Win 7 and if i try to open my computer of click on desktop and open up screen resolution etc. I get "Explorer.exe -Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I did a search but could not find anything related to this error in Win 7. I have found some others attached to Win XP but have to do with the installation of some software which prevents access to explorer.exe. When I boot in safe mode this issue does not appear...
i recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490
My Hardware is:
AMD Anthlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 2 Hitachi HDT725032VLA SCSI 320 gb hard drives Nvidia Geforce 8800 GS Graphics Card 3gb of system memory
Recently whenever I've used an .exe installer I'll get an error as soon as I click start after choosing the directory, in the picture example I include below, it's of SA-MP, but it happens with any installer I try and use. Installers have worked previously, it's only recently it's stopped working. The error is;Error opening files for writing?
What I've tried;
-Full system scan with Comodo AV.
-Revealed hidden files and folders.
-Run the installer in both compatability (Even though it does work on Windows 7, and as an Administrator).
-Also done the scan on CMD (can't remember exact command).
When I try to add a 4.29 GB file to a disk image I'm creating it says "ERROR: Added file is too large." Registered Magic ISO is supposed to support up to 10 GBs. What's the deal?
I am running OS Windows 7 Pro 64bit in my PC. I keep on having a corrupt file whenever I extract RAR files especially larger files. Almost all larger RAR (more than 3GB) will have this problem. So far smaller RAR I have no issue. I have tried extracting the same under different PC (OS Win XP) but without any issue. Which I believe not the RAR files been corrupted by itself. The corrupt files seems to be random.. Sometimes, I manage successful extraction, but sometimes I don't. I have the same problems even after clean installation. I have run memtest without any error. I am using 6gb ram
When I try to save my Answer File that I've created for my Windows 7 PC I press on Tools and then on Validate Answer File, it give me in the sector Validation a lot of errors. In my book (MCTS 70 - 680), they say that I need to change my settings. Now is my question: How and which settings do I need to change?I tried to edit it, but still I get the same Status Code.
i recently installed convertxtodvd, after installation, i try to burn a movie file to a dvd disc. and after burning is finished, my windows error (blue screen appear amd it says there's some errors) and it restart by itself.after that i try to reinstall that software and the same problem occur.

I tried to install new updates of Ableton live and the machine crashed badly... and since them it has really gone a bit wonky. When I press the on button to boot up the laptop I get the following message. The Windows Boot Configuration Data (BCD) Store file contains some invalid information.[CODE]I have a back up on another external drive ..... plus I have made a repair disk and so on when I first got the machine.
My mom has an HP Mini 210-1044NR laptop. It no longer boots up right. I've tried to get the desktop screen to load in normal mode and safe mode, yet I keep getting the same error message. It says Windows Explorer has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem the next time you go online. If I click close the program, it gives her a black screen and nothing happens. I cannot get to the start menu, even. Ctrl + Alt + Del brings up task manager, but it doesn't really give me much to work with.I did have the desktop loaded at one point, but then it all froze up and shut down. The problem details are:Problem Event Name: InPageErrorError Status Code: c0000010Faulting Media Type: 00000003OS Version:6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.11Locale ID: 1033Is there any way to fix this? Maybe bring the desktop back up? Or even get to the start menu to run something and fix it? I am going crazy trying to figure out what to do
everytime i right click on a file my windows explorer is stopped working. With some files it works but 9/10 not.

I have a PC with windows vista installed. I recently bought windows 7 home premium and installed a fresh copy of it. Every time I download some software like Chrome, VLC, iTunes , it downloads fine, but when it has to install it gives strange errors. I have seen all kinds of errors.
E.g.: VLC gives NSIS error. Microsoft Security Essentials gives "File Corrupt Error". Got certificate invalid error for some other software. if I download zip files, they fail with CRC check.
Just to be sure it wasn't hardware issue, I installed vista as a second OS and that works fine. I am really uncertain what is causing the issue (seems network related though). I had an old router and just purchased a new linksys router. Other configurations are: Core 2 Quad, EVGA SLI ready motherboard, 4GB DDR2 ram, ASUS EN210 gphx card.
We recently installed Yahoo messenger and suddenly the Library folder isn't showing any folders/files under the Administrator account. When I go to create a new Library it reads the following error message: "Unable to create the new file 'New Library.library-ms' File System Error: (16389)." Not only is the library no longer accessible, but I cannot access any of the Music, Pictures or Documents from the Start Menu.I am only able to access the folders using the search bar by selecting "User Name" from the drop down box, then suddenly everything's there. It will not allow me to drag/drop anything into the Library folder or even create a new one.
I downloaded a somewhat large file (around 350 MB) and went to open the .exe file. However, once the extract window bar finished running left to right, I got a popup error message saying "Not enough storage is available to process this command."I have plenty of storage space on the computer (~50 GB), so I don't know what the issue is. I rebooted just to be sure, and it didn't help. Also, the disk quotas are disabled on both my C: and D: drives
I have a file on my desktop that is called "Awesome." If I go to the properties, it says the file type is "File (.)" If I try to delete it it says "Could not find this item. It is no longer located in (my desktop directory) Verify the item's location and try again. I looked everywhere and searched this many times but nothing works for me. I think I was trying to save a picture as a jpg or something and somehow this happened.
So, I'm not completely sure if this has been happening the entire time I've been running on 7, or just the latest build, but it's been going for a while now. I've just been dealing with it, but now it's getting very old.
So, whenever I try to save a picture, or video, or anything like that online. When I click save as, and then name it what I'd like. When I hit save I get an error, and then I hit save again and it asks me if I want to replace it. So I hit yes, then it saves, or downloads the file.
C:UsersGunther(My Pictures, My Video's) (Anything I try to Save) Anywhere I try to save to.. Pics, video's, Music. attachments or anything.
You don't have permission to modify files in this network location.
Contact the administrator per permission to make these changes.
So when I'm on a site and I want to download a video clip I right click, hit save as like I always have then I name it what I'd like and save where I'd like it to go. and that is the error I get. So I hit ok, and then hit save again and it asks me if I'd like to replace, I hit yes and it downloads with the name I give it. I just don't understand why I'm getting this error.
My video files would be displayed as film frames with the logo of my default media player (in this case, VLC) in the corner of the frame. My .mp4 files are still displayed this way. About a week ago, however, my .avi files started appearing only as the media player logo. Is there a way to get the file display to go back to the way it was? I make and edit videos and having to read the title of each file is really slowing down my work.
This has been puzzling me since Vista and now Windows 7; at least now I know the reason...
The type of file being changed is .txt, .css, .html, etc. Open the file in Notepad, Dreamweaver, or any other HTML editor, modify the content, and save or "Ctrl+S" the file under the original name. Windows does not allow saving the file and presents this pop up:
Reducing the content of the file generally does not result in this error, depending on the level of reduction; addition on the other hand always does.
The culprit for this error is the Windows Explorer layout, more accurately the "Preview pane" under "OrganizeLayout" section. Explorer displays the content of the file in the "Preview pane" if and when the file name is highlighted. As far as Windows is concerned at that point, the file is "opened/owned" by Windows Explorer and as such, the system locks file editing by any other application.
It doesn't matter that both the Windows Explorer and the file in itself opened by the same user, evidently Windows Explorer process takes precedent over other application process when it comes to modifying file content. This file lock is temporary and last until the file name is highlighted or Explorer is closed. The permanent fix for this error is to disable Explorer's "Preview pane", especially for people who edit HTML files with Notepad or any other HTML editor.
Interestingly, none of the MS Office files display this error when editing word, excel, etc, files. Microsoft did make provision for the Office files; however, it isn't only Notepad that hasn't been accounted for. For example Microsoft Expression Web 3 also falls victim to this error:
The "Preview pane" is most certainly a feature that should behave the same across the board instead of being dependent on the file extension. Does anyone have an idea how to make Windows handle any file extension the same way as it handles Microsoft Office extensions?
This morning I decided to format my laptop (an asus x53s) after many blue crashes caused by Ntoskrnl.exe.I used the recovery system inside the pc but after some mins I got a gray page with a big red error word. I restarted the pc, used the boot to set DVD driver first and I used the DVD backup made when I bought the pc! Again after some mins, around the 3% of the recovery process I got an error: impossible to recover from recovery DVD asus! Now I'm stuck without an os and I don't have windows DVD (I bought a premade laptop and they said me windows is inside the backup DVDs)
I am trying to open winRAR programme downloaded to open a file sent to me by a friend, but when trying to install the windows security box appears saying 'impossible to open file'. Am i being stupid is it a security setting on my pc, i'm using windows 7.
I have attempted on several occasions to access my communication program within my gaming community. When I attempt access I receive an error message concerning "File System Error 1073741515".
I have a Sony Vaio Z VPCZ128 GG laptop with windows 7 professional preinstalled. I use a 3G usb modem to connect. Everything worked fine until a few weeks ago. Now when I try to open any dialup connection I get the error: Cannot load the remote access connection manager service. Error 711: the operation could not finish because it could not start the remote access connection manager service in time. Please try the operation again. See attached image. My services are as follows:

3. Telephony. Started When I try to start the Remote access connection manager, I get the error: Windows could not start the Remote access connection manager service on local computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified. See attached image. Is there any way to solve the problem without having to reinstall or upgrade windows?
