Aug 26, 2012My HP Presario CQ62 acts strangely since last night. After playing videos and audios for a while, suddenly there is no audio when playing videos or audio clips and the system freezes and I turned it off. I just updated iTunes to the latest version and was syncing with the iPod. I also updated Avast free anti-virus to the latest version about 2 days ago. That was last night. This morning, I also experienced the same thing. I was also syncing using iTunes. I was using Chrome and after I closed it it would not start again. Then the system reboot itself. Recently I also use msconfig to uncheck HPMSGSVC.exe (and a few other options) because it was taking so much time to boot up.
What is causing this suddenly no audio problem, among others, I described. Windows froze again after I typed the last sentence. I shutdown and restart windows. This happens after 1-3 hours of use since last night.
No System Audio Enabled On Windows 7
Sep 15, 2011I don't have any system audio at all on Windows 7 Home Premium Edition. The Troubleshooter has not provided any answers, except for a reference to a generic sounding Intel high definition audio driver. I have not been able to locate this driver on the Intel web page or elsewhere online. How to enable audio on my edition of Windows 7.

Dec 2, 2011ultimate is installed on my machine. everything was working perfectly including mics, speakers and rosetta stone software. then i went through the windows 7 vr training and setup and now my audio files are skipping the 1st 0.1 -2 seconds. it happens in speech recognition software. rosetta stone randomly now cuts of the beginning of every word/ phrase and the default tts message "you have selected microsoft anna (or other) as the computers default voice" skips the 1st couple of words. last time this happened i went for a full reinstall - and there is so much software on thr pc it took literally days to complete. in order to avoid that step again i would hope there is a work around for this problem. i have tried several restore function but its not fixing the problem. uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers

Apr 13, 2011I ran the disk cleanup and it freed up several GB of space on my C drive (I have a Dell laptop with a C drive with about 62 GB of space and a D drive with 426 GB.I let it run overnight because it said it was going to take 6 hours (no idea how long it actually took).
It had either shut down or hibernated, so I turned it back on the next morning. Windows booted up, but has not been working--I can't use the shortcuts, and even if I click on something from the start menu it won't run. (Firefox, for example, or other programs). It gives me an error message about the data not being found with an I/O error.I am able to use the internet and some programs in Safe Mode, which is what I'm doing now.I can't use my audio system in Safe Mode.I have the upgrade CD for Windows 7--they sent it after I had bought the computer. Do I need to reinstall Windows 7?Can I do it from the update CD?Do I need to back up all of my files (photos, etc) before I reinstall it?
System Playing Audio But No Sound Coming From Speakers
Jun 17, 2012My computer was recently RMA'd due to a faulty PSU and video card. I just received it back and the speakers that I used before no longer work. I figured it was a driver issue and simply downloaded the RealTek drivers but it didn't fix the problem. The AMD card comes with its own drivers. I had problems in the past with their HD audio codecs and tried uninstalling them but that didn't seem to fix it either. I went into device manager and located that there were drivers installed and they checked out. I checked for hidden or disabled devices in "Playback devices" and didn't find any.
Things I've tried:
- Installing audio drivers.
- Uninstalling and reinstalling audio drivers.
- System restore.
- Checking proper connection of speakers.
- Verification that speakers work.
By just looking at the audio mixer, it would appear that the system is playing sounds because there is activity in the mixer when a song or other sounds are playing. The problem is there is nothing coming from the speakers. Is it possible that my audio ports on the motherboard could be faulty?
