View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I ran msinfo32, and I was browsing through it to see if it could give me any interesting information (stuff like drivers I still needed to install, getting the USB ports to actually use 2.0 like they're supposed to but have never done under XP/Ubuntu/7). And came up with the following surprising pic - there's quite a few entries through the list, but this is the part with the most wtfs-per-screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been dealing with a problem now since January and I wonder if someboddy is recognizing this. My system gets a bsod when I install the graphic driver. It doesnt happen directly but after a while when im on the internet or when I'm trying to run FM 2012 or other games. Then when i reboot I get bsod before windows startup. When the driver isn't installed the computer is running without problem but im not able to play a game or connect the computer to TV and stuff like that. When I reboot again and put the computer in Safe mode I uninstall the driver in device manager and reboot again and the computer is able to start normally. The files that cause the bsod is:
atikmpag.sys <------ almost every time this one
dxgkrnl.sys
ntoskrnl.exe
*I looked around on the internet for soloutions, there're many and I have tried almost all. I've tried to remove everything with driver sweeper to install the latest update to my ATI Radeon HD 4870 x2. Even tried to install old updates.
*I have tried to install various OS. Vista x32, x64. Windows 7 x32, x64 and even XP. The problem remains. Now when I know that it doesn't matter I have Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
*I have opened up my computer and removed all the dust from the motherboard, Graphic card and CPU. The temp is OK!
*I removed one RAM memory and it didn't work.
*I've never overclocked anything.
*I've done some system test over night and it didn't find any errors.
*I've upgraded drivers on the bios and everything else on the motherboard and CPU.

i recently upgraded to an asrock z77 mobo & i5 3570k and to my disappointment, the motherboards onboard hd audio uses realtek drivers which for some reason don't contain eq any more, and it's really annoying my quite a lot, when i was on via drivers i had an eq.
does anyone know of easy to use eq software (i don't even need anything high end with 31 band etc) for windows 7? media players etc, i want an eq that can control all sound outputs including games, films, music, Internet etc.
not adjusting the speakers to lenevo system, may be that is system problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedQ. Is it safe/stable to overclock system and in addition to that also overclock graphic card.? How to be sure for stability. previous Gr. Card HD 4350 died I suspect because I did little overclocking in system ( as now) and then in graphic card was on AUto Tune, overdrice. Graphic card showed erratic behaviour after couple of hours completely died. My system specs briefly:ASUS P5QPL PRO Q9400 2GB CORSAIR DDR2 Dual Channel.Graphic card: SAPPHIRE RADEON HD 6850 GDDR5 1GB.I have done little overclocking on system, some initial steps only. then in catalyst it is set to :Enable Graphic overdrive. 775 MHZ for GPU and 1GHz for GDDR5. these values I got through Auto Tune.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAlright, so I am working remotely on a computer trying to remove the System Scan virus. Now I have followed all steps, and removed countless viruses from safe mode using both super-antispyware and malwarebytes. I followed all instructions given in the removal guide on this site, including using rKill and the tdsskiller. I seem to remove the virus sucessfully, but as soon as I restart in normal mode from my users account, the virus is right back. Is there a known variation of this virus that reinstalls itself? Are there any other recommendations

Is there a way to do the equivalent of a system file check on a BIOS? I just installed a BIOS update on my friend's new (Win7, 64bit) Compaq CQ57, and it occurred to me that checking it - maybe running a checksum on it? - would be a good idea. I'm going to install an Ubuntu partition on this machine. I can't find it now, but I seem to recall running across something about running a checksum on a BIOS from a Linux OS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 x64, by default assigns some RAM for Graphics, even if we install a 1GB or 2GB high-end VGA card! How can I disable this action? I really don't want to lose some RAM for graphics, specially when it's really not needed! I have assembled some high-end systems with 2 GB of VGA memory and 8 GB of RAM, but Windows 7 still deduct some RAM for VGA!!!

I was about to just uninstall most everything, and reinstall it. I am having an issue with a bsod for memory_management. I did a ram check, and a HDD check. Memtest86+ passed 5 times, nearly 6 but I stopped it when I woke up. WDC extended test proved no errors. That leaves me down to drivers.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought a new laptop recently, and probably about 4 days later, it got the System Check virus. A friend helped me get rid of the virus(I think), but a lot of my stuff still seems to be hidden. Unhide.exe got back my desktop icons, and some of my Start Menu, but I'm still missing almost all of the right side of said start menu. The Control Panel, Help and Support, Search, etc etc.I have Windows 7.

I've done all the advice the 7 Forum suggests, running start up 3 times...etc., and it will work for a day or two, then not start. Then if I hit the reset button a couple of times, it will go into the start up repair and I end up with this message:
Repair Action/ System files Integrity check and repair

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the DVD with Windows 7 installed on it, it is booting on start up, everything's fine. I have also downloaded and burned on another DVD all the drivers for my laptop. I downloaded them from the official website of the manufacturer of the motherboard of the laptop. Now my idea is, when the windows crashes and needs to be pre - installed, I install it using the booting DVD and then when it is ready I put the other disc with the drivers on it and install the drivers like for internet, sound, the touch pad and stuff like that.
I am sorry if I sound silly, but I just wanted to ask whether the way I have done these things will actually work because I really want to learn how install my OS by myself.I once pre - installed the Windows, but I had no idea that you have to install drivers as well so we had to bring the computer to the town to fix it. Silly me!
Also, is there any way to check whether the drivers I have downloaded are the right ones and will work? I see that they have the same names as my drivers currently installed, if that's anything.
