Now, after loggin or turn on my pc after 2mns my desktop and my taskbar cover with a plain white screen. I realize when i right click on it gives me all the option of webpage not my desktop but i can't see anything at all. To have access to my pc I have to press windows button from my keyboard where i can have the start icon and the folder explorer of windows7. Any help please?

MS Win 7 64 bit New Dell Optiplex 790 System Just installed two weeks ago - very few apps installed and only a few trusted websites have been visited.
Originally set up and installed MS Office, Adobe Reader, and a few other common programs. Installed VMware vSphere Client. Upon using VMWare vSphere Client for the first time, I first noticed the white/blank square in the upper right corner of my desktop. It has been there ever since, even when I have not used any applications after startup.
I'm attaching a snippet of the affected area of the desktop.
When using my dell laptop, the screen will get quick tiny color lines and then go white blank and the only way to get it back up is to close my computer and wait about 2 minutes and sometimes I have to do this several times. This usually only happens if my computer is not plugged but also happens when it is just not as often.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP netbook running Windows 7 Starter edition that I only had for about 2 months anyways this morning I started it up and got the HP logo screen briefly and then a black screen with a white cursor in the top left hand corner. I can get to the BIOS menu and I have tried restoring to default but that didn't do anything. I then unplugged ac adapter and battery and help power button down for a min. and then put battery and ac adapter back in and started it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust experiencing some problems with my laptop(acer 7535g)/windows 7. Im not sure where the issue lies but im quite certain its windows 7. Every time I go to do something with my laptop that needs admin permission (e.g. changing screen resolution or installing a program) it doesn't actually ask for permission, it just goes to this plain screen with no task bar, no desktop icons, just the background screen.
I still have the right click function but i cannot use the alt-ctrl-del function as it just goes completely black. The only way out is going to sleep mode and logging in again. Quite annoying and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and can help.
my laptop got totally affected by different malwares,trojans..etc. So i used avira to scan my system and removed all the viruses it showed...but after rebooting a black desktop appeared with only cursor present and no icons n no wallpapers....cursor only moves no right-click..i did some searching on how to get my desktop screen back...n i tried Ctrl-Alt-Del..then new task n typing explorer.exe....an error mssg shows up saying u dont have permission..

- Re-register the DLL Nothing happens when you click a link in Internet Explorer
- Check your default web browser setting
- Change the file types that Internet Explorer opens by default
- Use the Internet Explorer No Add-ons mode
- Reset Internet Explorer settings
- Reregister the necessary Internet Explorer DLL files
- Use System Restore
The problem remains unsolved. Everything else runs fast and perfectly on my computer, included Mozilla Firefox. However I don't like when something doesn't run very well.
I saw my someone using windows 7 and he got two taskbar one below (default) and another one on the top (customized). Now i got my Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and want to do the same but i found nowhere to get the new taskbar on the top of windows desktop screen.

It happens often when I open gmail, often when I hover over links (no particular links; randomly as far as I can tell) & sometimes it's just there. Sometimes it is behind only certain icons, sometimes it extends from the start button 3/4 of the way across the screen, & sometimes it is expanding / contracting. It started a couple weeks ago. Doesn't seem to mess with anything, but doesn't seem right either.

However when i right click on taskbar and then click on properties, the last tab (toolbars) displays an unknown entry (not seen before) with blank title (taskbar2blank.png).I noticed that the same happens even when the system boots in safe mode.A google search didn't help much. I am very familiar with registry editing, but am unable to find the key where these toolbars are added. I also tried running hijackthis but it is very difficult to find something with no name.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the past two weeks I have had a strange white box overlay my desktop. I see nothing in task manager that is associated with it. I killed every process that I could and it is still there. Reboot doesn't help. I have Norton and Windows Defender, neither show any spyware or virus. I have run msconfig and disabled everything in startup with no luck. It appears about 2 minutes after logging in. I've watched the task manager as it appears and there are no new tasks that show up when it appears. If I alt-tab it goes away, other than that it is always there and always on top of any program I open. I've tried every display setting I can think to try.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe icons on my desktop have a lock in the lower corner. Indicating that they are not to be shared. This lock randomly switches to a green check mark or to a grey X or sometimes to the file shared icon. Different ones switch to different icons when it happens. So not just the folders or just the shortcuts. But all desktop icons. The main icon picture stays the same, it's the lower corner spot that changes around randomly. The little arrow that indicates that the icon is a shortcut. This even happens on my game icons. Is this a sign of a malfunction or maybe mal-ware? I do not have Mozy or Norton installed. Running Win 7. When I turned on my PC today a AMD update was prompted. Assuming it was for a driver update, I clicked ok. Even though I uninstalled and reinstalled my driver yesterday, to try and fix a flickering problem. The update looked legitimate. Today I also uploaded and downloaded a small video file from "Bloggif.com". While I was trying to create an animated .gif. The animated .gif worked. This seems like one of those things that happens when I don't know that my pinky finger is resting on the ctrl key. But can't figure out how to keyword troubleshoot through Google.
