I have a fairly Dell XPS Home Premium Windows7 64 bit PC.It comes with Roxio Burn 1.0, but I cannot get it to copy DVD-R's.I can burn audio files to a DVD-R and play them. The DVD-R was created on our DVD recorder and Finalized.Roxio reads the DVD-R and pops out the disk and asks for a blank, readable, DVD+R (recommended).I put in a DVD-R, or DVD+R and it reads the disk and pops it out with the same warning. These are new Memorex disks.I did a chat session with Dell Support and they could find nothing wrong. The Dell rep asked me what type of disks they were (Memorex) and later said that Memorex has known problems and that I should try Sony.I happened to have one Sony DVD+R, so I copied the Memorex DVD-R, then put in the Sony DVD+R. It started to burn, but then reported a different error.I had some blank Sony DVR-RWs, so I put some video on one, and tried to copy to the other. It failed with Device Error and Roxio disappeared.I tried InfraRecorder clicked on Video Disk, tried copy to Disk Image, and got Cannot read TOC header.
Today, i was trying to burn an ISO today when i got this message."The image didnt burn burn because an error occurred. The drive reported that it is performing a long-running operation, such as finishing a write. the drive may be unusable for a long period of time. (Error code: 0xC0AA0207)"Haven't started a write since my computer turned on.
I can burn a normal audio cd, yet i can not get it to burn mp3's (data cd, also says for mp3's in software) i have tried a few burning programs and always get the same result. so i figure its a windows 7 issue.
problem installing roxio creator 2011 on Win 7 Ult x64. Will not recognize that I have Any Windows Platforms, so fails install.I tried to install in Safe Mode. It reached the point where it wants to install NET 3.5.1 and gives error: Windows programs and features needs to be turned on or off. I figure for NET 3.5.1. I tried every configuration and on go.
I'm using Samsung laptop with TSSTcorp CD/DVD TS-L633J recorder. Windows 7 x86_64. Can any tell me what are the possible problems (and solutions) of my CD/DVD burner? I bought this new laptop from Dubai, so even if I do have warranty, I can't use it here in my country Philippines, since warranty is exclusively for Dubai only. My CD/DVD drive can easily play DVDs (even the blank one) without any hassle. Unfornately, it can't read blank CDs unless there are already files burned in it. It can reformat CD-RW, but once the CD became blank, it can't read it anymore. Same thing happens to when I try to burn files on a DVD. It appears that it is burning, but when it finishes, it suddenly gets an unexpected error. I tried all types of disk like DVD+R, DVD-R, CD-R and CD-RW, but it allends the same. My CD/DVD burner cannot burn disks. I already uninstalled the drive, but it's all the same. I run "Fix it", but it gets an unexpected error and won't scan the drive.
I am not new to IT, but i absolutely confused now. I have downloaded the win 32 upgrade pack (the student offer) and it appear to be an exe file. How can i burn it on the dvd and make it bootable?
I have burned CD's and DVDs before no problem. Now I get a window 'Error - there was a problem burning this disc' after maybe 2 minutes of building the image file. Using the built in burn appl in 7 Pro. DVD +R disc is fine, doesn't begin to even burn. Can't be hardware because it's worked fine before. Can't be intermittent as I haven't removed/touched any internals. Tried making the pagefile larger, to match ram of 2GB ( min 2048, max 4000). Same. Lots of room on the hard drive. Can't believe it would be because data is 3.64 GB because 7 should just use the hard drive if it runs out of ram.
my CD drive will not burn any CD, it reads them ok when i put in an audio cd or a driver CD but everytime i try to burn something it fails. Is is very loud when tryin to do this and seems to be reving up and stoppin before it spits out the CD. I have tried burning with Nero, what i always use and also tried WMP and got the same result. Could the disk drive be broke?? is there a command i can run in cmd maybe like chkdsk to check it??
I have been trying to make my USB drive bootable with this ISO with several programs for quite awhilenow. method that i can use to make this NON iso image bootable? Or atleast figure out what kinda of boot file its using (such as linux, windows, etc) so i can configure the best program i've found so far? Its called YUMI - Multiboot USB Creator. It has the ability to be able to boot several types of ISO images ranging from Linux Ubuntu, Windows, Hirens Boot CD, to HP Automatic Firmware update, even Acronis! and more.plus its free! how to figure out which type of boot to choose by browsing contents after mounting the image and then configure this program with the proper settings. I did find something that said Windows, but its a folder. Not only that but as I've said I've tried several different USB to DVD tools, all of them windows and none of them worked.
I've not needed to burn a dvd or cd on my laptop since I've had it (got a desktop and use that mostly) ... but I went to burn a file onto a cd-rw disc tonight and I keep getting the message that the disc is either write protected or that there is no disk in the drive.I've tried checking for updates to the driver, but there isn't any and I have the most up-to-date driver.I've tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it - still nothing. And I've also tried removing the drive through device manager, and reinstalling it and yet still nothing.I've searched around on the net for solutions and on here but can't find anything so
I used to be able to burn them. Not sure where to start.
Sony Vaio VGN-NS230E.

I ran the Microsoft FixIt application but it did not resolve the problem. Fresh install of windows 7. Brand new cdr's. Also, when I insert a blank CD, it doesn't show up in My Computer, however if I insert a CD with data on it(or music), it shows up. Also should point out I have VirtualCloneDrive installed.

can anyone tell me why I lose lots of disk space every time i burn a dvd with 7 . and where to look for all of the temp files. and why it takes two hours or more to encode?
i tried burning a few files using - CD-RW CD -R DVD +R DVD-R DVD+RW DVD-RW but all of those just dont work, i tried -dvd decrytpor - img burn - CDburnerxp - Daemon tools - Power iso but every single one says burn sucesfull but the disc is still blank.
Yes, I STILL need to burn to a regular CD as CDA is all that will play in my car. I have an audiobook in one large file & have tried breaking it down into several smaller files for burning. The first file burns just fine, but all subsequent files fail as it claims they're too long for the cd, even tho the size is a miniscule CDA. Older versions of windows used to prompt you for subsequent discs but I can't get any program (Roxio, Ashampoo, Cyberlink) to do so--they all return too large for disc.
I unfortunately forgot my windows 7 password of my netbook. However, I was able to find this bootable iso image that removes and windows password. it works great when burnt on a cd and booted from bios but as u know netbooks dun have cd drives. so my qeustion is is there a way to burn the iso image to a usb flash drive from which i can boot from it?
New HP Laptop with Windows 7 - Windows Backup software doesn't recognise DVD as writeable, but Windows7 Explorer writes just fine to the same DVD-R.If I do Control Panel>System and security>Backup and Restore click on Backup Now ....this gives "Backup in progress..." bar - gets to about 25% and stops with the message "Insert Removeable media "Windows backup needs a CDDVD or USB drive to continue" (even though there is a DVD-R in E:, to which I have just successfully burned a very small test file using Explorer. E: shows on Backup pane as being selected as destination drive). If I click on "More information" another dialogue box pops up with instructions to "Label and insert a blank media"Please write the following label on a blank media and insert it into E:"FREDDY 02/01/2011"even though there is a labelled disc in there.(Of course that's a bum instruction from Windows anyway - it won't accept forward slashes - but that's OK - I label it without those. Still doesn't work.)If on the other hand I just select a file in Explorer and burn it ends up on the DVD no problem. With that same successfully burned DVD - Backup will still not recognise the DVD-R.I can use a DVD-R with a small test file burned OK to it, or a virgin disc from the box - makes no difference......
I have a video that I can put on U-Tube for friends to view, but can't seem to burn a DVD from it. What is the "magic" software (needed or included in Windows 7) to do this, and what steps are needed?
I know it's doable. I did it for 7100. I can't seem to do it for 7127 though.
Basically, I loaded the ISO in PowerISO. Then I told it to burn it to the USB stick. That's it. Now I can't find out how I did it. I tried a search on here and on Google.
is there any way to burn discs that have been finalized? for instance custom mp3 CDs which have been burnt with images(iso) of size less than the full capacity of CD or finalized by some other method.
