Computer Restarts Without Any BSOD After Exactly An Hour?
Jun 8, 2011
I am using Windows 7 and my computer restarts exactly after an hour. I have recently changed my PSU so its not a PSU problem and no component is over heating. It happens for a day then take a break for a week then starts happening again.

my computer has been freezing and randomly restarting the last couple of days.
When it restarts sometimes it has to boot a couple of times, it seems as though it can' boot the BIOS, the bios splash screen is also different, this also changed 2 days ago. The first couple of times it froze, now it just restarts randomly. I suspect the motherboard.
System Info:
- x64 Windows 7 Professional
- Full Retail
-Age of system hardware: 4 years
-Age of OS installation 6 months

I can be doing anything (I work on my computer I don't play games) so my normal activity is forums, skype, ftp..etc.I have not been able to identify any particular pattern or software when it happens, but the one thing that does happen is when it first happens, it says "Bad header Pool" then restarts, and it is merely a matter of minutes before it happens again.

I've been having a strange issue with my computer for a while now. A strange combination of random restarts, freezing but most commonly BSOD all with different error messages. I've tried a lot even removing some RAM and changing my keyboard. I've also had it checked 4 times with still no results.

I'm having this problem of BSOD ever since I bought this custom built computer in Jan 2010. Once I've played more than 1 hour of game, either online or not, it's very likely to have BSOD sooner or later. Today, I experienced this 3 times!! I've ran Driver Update and it says "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE controller" is not up to date but I couldn't find any update for it, so I tried disable it then I can play more than 6 hours. However, after I left the computer for 3 hours and came back with BSOD again. Before I try the disable, I have error code of "Driver IRQL not less or equal", but for the last BSOD this didn't should up. Here's my computer info:OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bitProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz 2.67GHzInstalled memory (RAM): 4.00GB (3.00GB usable)NVIDIA GeforceGT 240 version 296.10

My 2 year old HP DV3610ae Laptop keeps giving me a BSOD. It's a Core2Duo T6400 2.0 Ghz with 4Gb DDR2 Ram. Usually its a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, but I have seen other errors and some times it just restarts without BSOD and no memorydump is then generated. It is usually just after login, but lately the BSOD is coming within the first half hour. I have done a clean install with Windows 7 Enterprise and the problem is still there.
I have done memtest and prime95 for several hours with no problem in fail safe mode. Also no problem with chkdsk. Fail safe mode never crashes, only normal login. Have removed DVD drive. Still BSOD. There is no new hardware installed. Have had "gcswf32.dll stopped working" fault in safemode and normal mode when running chrome browser. Only windows defender and firewall is installed.

So in the past week, my computer has started freezing. After about an hour of use, the screen will freeze. Sound will still play for a while and the mouse still moves. But other than that, it completely freezes.
Ctl+alt+del doesn't do anything and I have to manually shut it down.
Sometimes if it sits for a while and I don't mess with anything it will black screen and tell me to insert bootable media.
My computer is only about a year old and I put it together myself. I have an 64 GB SSD with Windows 7 intel i5 2500k 3.3ghz CPU 8 GB of RAM EVGA GTX 570
My graphics drivers are up to date. My registry seems in order. I have no virus' showing up under my scans. My PSU doesn't seem to be overheating. Memory test in my BIOS shows fine My case has plenty of airflow HD tune pro doesn't show any bad sectors And I've cleaned up with CCleaner

My issue didn't start till about 4 months ago. Whenever playing an online game such as Team Fortress 2 it would slow down (lag) or be choppy at times. Wouldn't happen everyday, till about a month ago, when the beeping started. It happens every hour, it is a weak beep but it comes from the inside of my computer. Also, I can't run Team Fortress 2 without it crashing every 5-10 minutes of playing. I have also noticed my whole computer has become a lot slower. I'd like to know if this can be fixed or if I should just get rid of this computer and get a new one.

I had a BSOD overnight, then one again while at work. I've been doing some research with the dump files (which I can upload if requested) but its a CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION ntoskrnl.exe+7efc0 error. I have reinstalled all drivers, and so far no BSOD while active at my PC.I noticed a very strange thing happening though. My computer is now randomly freezing (twice now in 1 hour). I am still able to move my mouse and click some times (such as open new tabs on my chrome) but everything stops responding. The last time it happened I managed to open task manager before it locked up. The performance graphs were still working fine and showed nothing unusual. I have to force my PC off (hold the power button), then when it turns back on the motherboard freezes are splash (makes me thing ram, going to do a memtest overnight tonight.), but it works fine when I turn it off and back on it gets past it fine.
Specs: CPU : i7-920 @2.67GHZ Ram: 3x Corsair vengeance 4gb 1600MHZ PSU: TX Corsair 850W GPU: MSI gtx 560ti 448 core Mobo: Asus P6TD DeluxeI will answer any questions as best I can.Update: Passed memtest over night and also another freeze I will try and explain what happens with the best detail. I was playing SC2 while in a skype call. I only noticed because the skype call went quiet and the timer froze for call duration, then SC2 froze (could still hear the sounds from it).I could open new google chrome tabs fine and click around (they wouldn't load though). I tried opening task manager and it wouldn't open, also start key on keyboard wouldn't open the menu.

My computer wont shut down. It freezes at the "Shutting down" screen. Sometimes it helps to unplug all the cables except screen and power, but mostly it has no effect. It uses about 1 hour to start. It has been like this for a couple of weeks, after I tried different software to record audio from my browser. Maybe its a driver problem? This is the second "period" with problems after i tried this, it has had one period where everything worked fine in the meantime, so I thought the problem was solved. But when it went to sleep mode today it wouldnt wake up, and the problems started again after I had to push reset button. Most of the 1 hour it says "Starting Windows". I have uninstalled all of the audio recording software. Before I did that, the computer made a subtle buzz sound every few seconds when I played games.

At this point i knew exactly what had gone wrong and had a major panic attack, i thought i had lost all my precious files, which i had no backup of. Then i remembered when i first got the computer i had to burn something called Acer eRecovery manager to 3 CDs. I then loaded the CD via the Boot Menu, and from there chose to restore my system but still retain user data (rather than restore to factory settings). the 2 and a half hour procedure, i found that all of my documents had been saved. I immedietly rushed to the store and bought a external hard drive and backed up all of my documents.
Now, moving on to the problem. Well it actually a very easy problem to describe. My new computer is now 50x slower than what it used to be, and im not even exaggerating. When i first got the Computer it loaded in 20 seconds, now it takes half an hour. Before this happened, when i used to click on internet explorer it came up instantly, now when i click on it it takes a minute or so. The problem is that i literally just bought this computer, and it cost me alot of money. It worked brilliantly fast when i first got it, now after this my old laptop is even better than it.[CODE]

I have a Acer Aspire 6920G which restarts very suddenly without BSOD. It actually made only two BSODS. analyzing the Bsods to pinpoint the cause of the restarts. It is not memory/heating/harddisk problem - already tested. It happens even when trying to boot Fedora/Ubuntu. So it must be some faulty component/module on the motherboard. In windows the PC either hangs or crashes at desktop. The crash happens the moment I click twice on my computer or just the start icon. I tried without battery and with other power supply - same issue. Safe mode works okay. I disabled all the drivers I could from msconfig but it made no difference.

I'm getting a consistant BSOD. At first I thought there might be a problem with the case/jumpers so I unplugged all but the main power, but still got BSOD. Then I thought it might somehow be related to SP1, so I uninstalled it, but still got BSOD. Perhaps there is a physical problem with the power supply or MOBO?

Windows 7 Home Premium 64, Original Install OEM Hardware ~1 year, 3 months Original OS install
All drivers, BIOS, VBios up to date
Background: Laptop decides to randomly restart from time to time while I am playing poker and using a HUD display/hand reading program, VPN, & poker software. Not a huge load on the system, somewhat HD intensive with the hand reading from the HD.
This is the related error: Source: Kernel-Power Level: Critical Event ID: 41 It's happened 51 times since 9/14/11. No error code I've turned off where it reboots on a critical error, so I can see if I can generate an error code.
I decided to do CHKDSK, fell asleep & woke to the attached BSOD.

System specs:
ASUS AMD 990 FX mobo
AMD fx 6100 3.31Ghz processor
16GB corsair vengence RAM (4X4)
Kingston SSDnow100 128GB
EVGA Geforce GTX580
and of course runnig Windows 7 64 bit OS
I built my first comp last year and it was great, however now, been getting random restarts for no apparent reason. Found that it may be the HD or the PSU, switched out my PSU from a thermaltake 750w to a corsair 850w just in case, I wasn't getting enough power to my components. worked for about a day, tried feeding the power directly from wall thinking it may be the power strip, worked for a few days so I bought a new one from best buy, then a few days later it happened again.
Now I am thinking ok, now it has to be that shiny new kingston SSD!! I had a slave HD figured why not, installed Windows 7 to it, it ran fine for about 2-3 weeks, then last night BAM! instead of shooting the comp i did more research, checked the event viewer found that it is definitely a kernel 41, went to Windows site and followed a tip from them to make sure the auto restart feature was unchecked. Now I am waiting for another restart. the only thing left is the RAM.

I run Windows 7 64bit.The other day the computer shut down on it's own. I turned it back on, Windows wouldn't load, it entered a loop of about 2 or 3 reboots and finally it loaded Windows 7. I thought it was just a big hiccup, and after a while i got a prompt to install some updates for Windows, some of which required a restart. After that restart the PC never booted Windows again. It took me to Startup Repair, where it couldn't fix the problem. In the log i could see "boot critical file D: ci.dll is corrupt".
Since then i've installed Windows on another HD i had, and i have accessed the problematic one connecting it as an external HD. This has allowed to scan it with several antivirus and antimalware programs; TDSSKiller found "Rootkit.Win32.TDSS.TDL4" and eliminated it. Malwarebytes found the following:
"e:Users{username}AppDataLocalTemp asdialb.exe (Trojan.Agent) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully."This however hasn't fixed the problem. Startup repair will tell me the computer cannot be fixed automatically, and if i use a recovery disk, Startup repair will tell me it can't find a problem. System restore will tell me there are no restore points (and it lists my HD as being in unit D:, when i'm positive my drive's unit is C: ).I've gone to the command prompt and tried the following:
-Chkdsk --> Found no problems
-sfc /scannow --> It doesn't run, says "system repair pending, please restart" (i've restarted a million times and it still won't run).
-bootrec.exe /fixmbr --> Completed successfully.
-bootrec.exe /fixboot --> Completed succesfully.
The problem has remained unchanged, when i try to load Windows i get the Windows logo while it's loading, then a BSOD for a few tenths of a second (too fast to read, but something about drivers) and it restarts.i can only do a repair install from within Windows, so i guess that's not an option.I've also read that this virus infects the boot sector, so formatting wouldn't help.

What is happening: Periodic (typically once a night, different programs, different times) restarts. Event viewer says it is "Log: System / Source: Kernel-Power Event ID: 41. I am inexperienced at reading Minidumps, but one dump suggests "wininit.exe" and another "crss.exe", not a lot of help there. It has not always been doing this, but unfortunately started when I installed a whole slew of software (Adobe Production Premium, a Cintiq tablet, etc) so it's hard to pin that down.
What kind of machine:
Windows 7, fully updated
CP850 psu, p8p67 pro mobo (36c), i7 2600k chip (37c) at stock speed while I'm figuring this out.
4x G.Skill Ripjaw RAM, statistics in CPU-Z and RAMMon included. Passes memtest86.
EVGA GTX 570 card (1), drivers updated
Vertex2 SSD (OS, main programs)
WD Caviar HDD (files)
4x 180mm fans, CM212+ HSF, single optical drive
Steps tried:
Uninstalling/reinstalling major programs, updating drivers
Checking minidumps for obvious file issues
Virus scan, defrag, basic upkeep stuff
Memtest for RAM
Checking temperatures and voltages in CPUZ/Asus AI - defaulting / setting to auto the configurations in BIOS
