I had to change the batteries on my Logitech wifi keyboard. In doing so I rested the keyboard face down on the desk.Immediately the picture on my monitor moved 25 degrees to the right. The top of the picture is now on the right and the bottom on the left. The whole picture is sideways.how I can change the picture back to its original?
I just bought a new laptop; ASUS N55SF-S1070V, and I have to completely close the lid to turn off the monitor. My former one turns its monitor off when I close the lid for, say 45deg, and I The built-in hotkey to turn off the monitor first appeared to work, but when I looked closely, it just turn off the backlight or something. I can still see the screen's content!I'm now using some apps to force turn off the monitor, but it's a bit inconvenient.I've been wondering: is there a way to configure the angle in which the monitor will turn off automatically? I've read a post elsewhere saying there's a built-in hardware based switch that detects this action, and it can't be configured otherwise. Is this true?
ive got a problem with my new viewsonic vx2753mh-led monitor. its got 2x hdmi inputs and one vga.the vga works straight off the bat, but whenever I try and plug the hdmi in it just says no input signal detected and goes black I noticed in device manager that this was installed as 'generic non-pnp monitor' so after jumping through some hoops i managed to install the driver as 'viewsonic vx2753 SERIES' anyway this doesnt seem to have made a difference. still no input through the hdmi.I have tested to cord on my samsung tv and it worked fine so it can't be a problem with the cord or the graphics card....just some general info that might be of use:
windows 7 x64 dual monitor setup
the graphics is integrated on the intel i5 chip my display adapters in device manager says Intel(R) HD Graphics Family.it has a dvi out, hdmi out, and vga out.
discovered a way to change the Windows 7 file and folder view to "List" view instead of the default Win 7 "Details" view?In WinXP, you simply went to Folder Options dialog box >> "View" tab and it allowed you to change the view for an entire drive with one click. Win 7 does not do this.much prefer "List" view, but the only way to change it is folder-by-folder which becomes aggravating after several dozen folder changes.Plus, once you have changed the file view inside of a folder to "List" view... if you change the folder name, every file and folder, no matter how deep, inside that re-named folder will return to "Details" view.hat a PITA...I have Googled this and searched for some time, but have come up with no answer, I thought I might ask the folks at Tom's and see what we come up with.
Using Word 7 and choosing pics to include in document. How do I change the VIEW of my pictures? It currently shows the name of the jpeg only. How do I change it all over to thumbnail of the pictures?
I just accidentally changed my settings on my grapics card so that I can no longer see my desktop on the monitor connected to my HTPC. My HTPC has a monitor attached to it and it also has an HDMI out from the graphics card going to an LED TV in another room. I accidentally switched it so that the desktop can only be seen on the other TV in the other room.
All I can see on the monitor is the blank Windows 7 logo (no desktop icons) and I cannot navigate back to my AMD control page to undo this. I tried rebooting but this does not work. This is an issue as I don't have a bluetooth keyboard/mouse that I can use in the other room to control the desktop. How do I reset this? I am using a AMD HD 6750 graphics card.
i have read that ps/2 polling rate can go up to 200hz (if you wonder why, it is for a mechanical keyboard) but i could not find a way to view or change the polling rate.there is a tool named ps2rate but it seems that it does not work on windows 7.is there a way to view or change the rate?
Now Default View Is Large Icons. I Try to Change Default to Small Icons Like This. But When I Re-Open Devices And Printers Windows. Default View Is Back to Large Icons [It No Remember Small Icons View Follow I'm Settings Before].
I have a colleague who is having problems with documents being saved in 'My Documents' but which are then not visible. After consulting our external IT company, we were told it because the 'Arrange By' option in My Documents was set to 'Name' and it should be set to 'Folder'.
My colleague changed this and it solved the problem. However, every day it reverts to the default arrange by 'name' setting, and she has to manually change it to 'folder'.
How do I change the settings so that it arranges by 'folder' by default?
At some point the view/layout of my usb sticks has changed ie everything is in file type view...?How can I change it so that the contents appear altogether like c drive...?I have attached a screenshot of the unwanted layout.I have noticed that in my computer the usb stick shows as removable disk, however if I right click the usb stick and choose open as portable device, it then shows everything as normal...?
My computer was fine last night then this morning I turn it on and the theme setting is locked in the classic view and all my aero settings are greyed out and I can't change anything. I have Windows 7 Home Premium I have Kaspersky internet security anti virus and I don't download illegal music I only download iTunes and better have not gotten a virus from something I paid for. I first checked my security and I'm up todate on it and doesn't show anything. It is an HP with the finger print scanner with ATI Mobility Radeon Premium Graphics and says it supports Microsoft DirectX11.
I have windows 7 ultimate and just got a new video card with HDMI out, Asus EN210. My monitor is connected through VGA and my TV is connected through HDMI. For some reason my TV is identified as #1 and my monitor is identified as #2, meaning that my boot up screen shows on my TV. I use my monitor primarily for computing and TV just for watching movies. I want to make it so my boot up screen is shown on my monitor.
I tried many different things found on this and other forums, such as using NVIDIA Control Panel. Changing the registry then uninstalling NVIDIA drivers and reinstalling them. None of this worked. Any idea would be greatly appreciated.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 from XP. Now I cannot get the resolution to change on my monitor. I have tried updating drivers but it still won't work.
My computer is a Dell Optiplex 160L and the monitor is a Proview Pro 458.
Now Im using an old monitor LG 700s, and for some weird reason I cannot change the resolution to 1152x864 on 75 hz...I just get 60 hz (lot of screen flicker) option and nothing else, updated to the latest win 7 nvidia drivers released today, updated the monitor drivers as well, but Im not getting that refresh rate.
The funny thing is the monitor does support 1152x864 75 hz according to the monitor specs and I have it tunning on that resolution on both Win XP sp3 and Windpws Vista SP1 both 32 bit.
What am I doing wrong, or is it just an issue with the drivers since its a new OS and its gonna take a lot of time for nvidia to fix...if it is an issue on their part?
System specs: C2D 3.0ghz, 2 gb ram, 1000mhz, OS WIn 7 64 bit RC 7100, Graphics-8600GT

In Windows 7 how can I change "Folders View" for individual folders without changing them system wide. For example if I select "always show icons" all my folders are set this way, and that's fine. But there are a few folders I have containing jpeg images, and I want to view those as "thumbnails" without effecting the others which are set to always show icons.
This was very easy to do in Windows XP but I can't figure out how to do it in Windows 7.
I have a three monitor set up. Whenever I open up a browser, either internet explorer or google chrome on monitors 2 and 3, after a few seconds it automatically drags my browser into my main monitor(monitor 1, where my start button and status bar is located)
I have a setup with 6 monitors. Today my main monitor broke and I couldn't find a way to shut the PC down since I couldn't access the main desktop to get to the Start menu.Is there a way to change which monitor is the main monitor without having access to the current main monitor?
I am running a dual monitor setup with my TV hooked up via HDMI to my laptop.
Everything was working fine before, I always had the laptop as my main display yet I could play a video or a game fullscreen on the TV.
Since a couple of days, as soon as I put something in fullscreen, it immediately goes on my laptop, regardless if it's open on my TV or my laptop. I don't remember changing/installing anything that could've changed that...
I checked a bit in the AMD vision software and the Windows control pannel but I can't seem to solve my problem without switching my TV as the main display. I also made a quick search on google as well as here but the problems were mainly with Flash, which isn't in cause here.
Here are my system specs:
Toshiba Satellite L75D Windows 7 home premium 64-bit AMD Radeon 6520G
I have just did a clean install of Windows 7 ultimate from XP and I am unable to get my dual monitors to work like they did in XP.
I have a DVI Radeon graphics card plugged into the agp slot, and a Nvidia geforce vga adapter plugged into a pci slot of my dell optiplex 755. When I am in the screen resolution settings the second monitor cannot be detected.
In bios I have 2 options under primary video adapter and they are auto, and onboard card. When set to auto the Nvidia card gets a signal but the Radeon does not. There are no conflicts in the device manager, and all of the drivers are up to date.
When I change the bios option to onboard card the Radeon adapter gets a signal but the other monitor cannot be detected and in device manager there is a yellow exclamation mark next to Standard VGA adapter and a code 10 error that states the device could not be started.
I have powered down, and unplugged every cable, I also tried to use the integrated VGA adapter to the Intel G31/G33/Q33/Q35 Graphics Controller but the computer will not even boot. I get
"System Halted
Attention Unsupported Video Configuration Detected"
I have two monitors, both work fine as standalone but Windows will not detect either as a secondary.
Please help me someone, I am so used to having my helpdesk email open in one monitor and all of my other work in the other monitor.
This computer is running an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro. It does support dual monitors...(I've had dual monitors active on this card before, but never on Windows 7.) But since installing windows 7, I can't even get it to detect the second monitor. I want to run the setup with the CRT as the primary monitor and the HD as the secondary.
