When I try to log onto a website I am only getting half the page.I get the box to enter my ID, but the following box where I put in my password does not come up.I have talked to the techies at the website, but they are mystified.
View 1 RepliesI use on screen keyboard a bit and have the problem that when I have multiple programs running when I click on the task bar to bring up keyboard (already running) it brings up the last program I was using before the one I am currently on. E.g. may be using windows live mail and then click over to IE and then click on task-bar to bring up on screen keyboard and it will come up ok but also re-maximize or bring to top windows live mail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI needed to copy files between two PCs and didn't have a USB big enough so I took the HDD out of my Dell Vista laptop and used it as an external drive to transfer the files I needed moving. When I connected it up to the destination PC running windows 7, the drive couldn't be seen in explorer. I had to bring the drive online in Disk Management in order to be able to explore the drive and take the files I needed off of it. All was OK until I put the drive back in the Vista laptop and then found that the drive wouldn't boot. All I get is a blinking cursor after the initial Dell logo screen. like as if the BIOS can't load the drive or something.Can someone please tell me what bringing a drive online in Disk Management does to the MBR of that drive?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently re-installed Windows 7 from some rescue disks, and everything, with the exception of Internet Explorer is now running fine! Basically whenever I load a web page in IE it crashes after a short time (5 - 10 seconds), and I then have to exit with CTRL + SHIFT + ESC (Task Manager)! Inside task manager I actually have to terminate the IE processes, as IE won't exit if I attempt to shut down through the Applications tab.
Initially IE8 was installed from the rescue disks, and I have since upgraded to IE9, but both versions are behaving just as badly as each other.
I have even tried to start IE in "No-Add Ons" mode from the "Accessories" menu - however after a short time it still crashes. Now I have no add ons enabled, I have deleted everything (in IE history), scanned for viruses (there are none), and I am wondering if there is some way of repairing IE?
P.S.: I have installed other browsers, but I actually need IE for running some Microsoft Online Services, all other browsers are only supported in "lite" mode!!!

- Use System Restore
The problem remains unsolved. Everything else runs fast and perfectly on my computer, included Mozilla Firefox. However I don't like when something doesn't run very well.
How can I find "Internet Options in my Windows 7? I need to change my font and color. But when e-mailing, I have to change it with each message! I hate windows 7!

I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. I used to access shared internet from a router, now the router has no internet we only use it for local home sharing. I added the secondary adapter to connect to the DSL-modem directly.so now when I disable the 1st adapter my internet works fine. when they're both enabled internet doesn't work at full speed or sometimes not at all.
So I built a new computer yesterday and when I ran a speed test today I was only getting 9.5mbps when I usually get over 30mbps. It has something to do with this computer since my other computer is getting 30mbps. And yes this computer is connected directly through and ethernet cable.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the last 3 months my internet keeps dropping in and out, sometimes for a long period of time. But it always shows full bars in the wireless network connection on our computers. I have been on the phone to the internet company for hours and hours (each time speaking to a different person-so no help there) and they can't figure out what is wrong.
They sent me a new modem which worked for 10 mintues and then was dropping in and out again. The same issue is happening on my roommate's computer too, and I am able to access other wireless networks in other locations too with no trouble. So not an issue with our computers.
I'm working on an Hp pavilion elite 210y pc. It's got a lot of stuff like amd phenom II 945 quad core processor. I have windows 7 and internet explorer eight and an at&t modem hooked up directly to the computer, the status bar says it has full internet connection and the specs of that look fine but the internet is kind of slow, not my biggest concern. My main problem is that it won't play videos without making it choppy and hard to see even after a video is loaded completely it still lags and won't play correctly. Pretty much anything that is animated and over the internet is garbage; internet games, ads, even text comes up slow.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have an intel i5 2400 cpu, combined with 4gb ddr3 memory. mobo is dh67bl - revision 3. no gpu installed.power supply is via corsair vx450.problem i been facing:
1) bsod saying that a clock interrupt wasnt recd. [url]
2) bsod saying: page fault in non paging area. couldnt grab a screenshot for this.
3) display randomly goes off for a split second and reappears.. but the color of the panes go blue (i havent chosen blue. my setting is for clear pane.)[url] this error solves itself after random number of hours/mins
4) display vanishes for a split second and reappears, and a small balloon at the bottom right corner prompts that the display driver had stopped working.
5) system plain hangs/stops responding. randomly happens.. but more so while on Internet, or after hrs of it idling, i come back to the comp and try to scroll the content onscreen.sometime it revives from the stuck state as if nothing happened, sometimes i have to give it a cold boot.
6) while reading forums with blue bands.. the blue bands kinda form blurry bars which stretch till the end of the screen. i tried to grab a screenshot but the screenshots were clean. the bands moved as i dragged the image about.
7) also, my comp's display went off one day and within a second came back with a blue-ish hue. it restored itself but again has gone back to blue-ish.
other relevant information:
windows 7 x64
no other os resides/installed on system
full retail version
os was installed in july.
I'm on Windows 7 and have run into the annoyance of my PrtScn key actually bringing up the print dialog box to print. It still copies the screen to the clipboard for a paste into paint, but I can't figure out why it's bringing up the dialog to print or how to turn that off. I have seen it before maybe 8 years ago on Windows XP but do not remember what was done to correct it. When I try to search, I just find posts about it not working or how to turn the whole screen capture function off for the PrtScn button.

Recently I opened the folder and the look has changed. On the general tab I no longer see "home page", "temporary internet files", etc. I only see, browsing history and appearance options. I wanted to change my home change in the address box, but it doesn't appear. How can I change it back to the way it use to look? I've scanned my laptop for potential viruses using AVG-anti-virus and Malwarebytes anti-malware....both came up clean.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have my tower pc on constant all day- to record a streaming IP Camera from my work.Initially, I saved these files into my docutments- which they would save as .avi files, and after every several days I would delete them as they would take up ALOT of space on my pc.My pc is 250GB in size, and usually it would be about 80GB full before I had the IP Camera. Just recently, I noticed all of the IP Camera avi files seemed to have disappeared from my documents if I went directly to the folder... I could still see them in documents when I was choosing a location to save the recordings.Upon right-clicking the avi files in the latter, the files would be of no size and wouldn't play.Now my computer is 210GB full in the matter of a week.

I went out and bought myself a SSD 60 GB for my OS. So I'm thinking of putting on my SSD drive and just building my OS from scratch. But before that I was also thinking of reinstalling my OS but I have the full version. Then Windows 8 Beta is coming out month after next and was going to put my SSD drive on that but can always get another one. So any ideas how I should approach this.
