So if I search in my internet browser, I get a blank page. The weird thing is if I restart the computer, it is works fine. If I leave it for an hour and come back, everything is rejected and I just get a blank page.

The problem remains unsolved. Everything else runs fast and perfectly on my computer, included Mozilla Firefox. However I don't like when something doesn't run very well.
I have FF 17. The mouse is freezing in facebook & I find the only escape to release the browser is reboot. The same FB page works fine in internet explorer.

But every time i enters an url, it loads the url( as i can see the title bar showing the website title) but the browser shows the blank page. I noticed that my sound was skipping one day.Did what most would do check setting, reset comp.Then reinstalled drivers/window updates,nothing worked.But then I noticed it only would skip when I would open a a web browser page,with firefox.I use vlc for media player?
Clicking on the tab next to the open window tab brings up a blank page.
Went to Internet Options - Tabs - Settings - When a new tab is opened, open: (Selected) Your first home page - OK - OK. No joy.
Followed the advice of an HP employee apropos the problem but when I got to the Right click Tabs; no 'Tabs' was visible anywhere and got into a serious bog-hole during the search.

I have ie9 set as default browser. I have my email defaulted, as use my current email address. I rebooted after these setting changes. Yet both 'Send Page by Email' and 'Send Link by Email' are still grayed out. How to activate (ungray) these 2 commands?
I,m using w7 64 bit. On about half of the web sites I go to if I click on a link I get a blank page. I reset everything to default settings but no joy. I remember reading about this in the past and it is a windows setting but I forget which.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just received a new laptop running Windows 7 32 bit. Whenever I click on a link from a website in IE 9, it just opens up a new tab to a blank page. Tried it on another Windows 7 system and it worked fine. Other browsers works fine as well so looks like it is just limited to my IE 9 being corrupted somehow. I tried re-registering some dlls Microsoft site recommended but that did not work. I also tried resetting all settings but that had no effect either.

I tried going into Safe Mode, and all the other F8 options but nothing works.So I read a little online and they suggested I repair the windows with my CD which I got when I bought the laptop.So I inserted the CD and I clicked on the repair button. Now I get a blank page with nothing on it... No repair stuff.

And I was searching for a well known social web hosting forum.That I was visiting two weeks ago and had no problems getting onto that site then. I will not tell you the link as I do not want anyone else to click on it, as it is not safe.But I clicked on the link from Yahoo search engine but instead of putting me onto the website. I was redirected to a blank page,that said I have got viruses and it needed to scan my computer.And it just closed my web browser,without warning, and started scanning.I tried to stop it but I could not, so I quickly shut down my computer as this brings everything on my computer to a halt. And then I turned my computer back on again everything seemed normal.But I did a scan with Windows Defender and MRT-Malicious Software removal tool,just in case. And it never found any viruses or malware. And using system restore to put my computer back in time to BEFORE the event happened helped,I think.
But when I went round to two of my friends house,the same thing happened to them on their computer.When they tried to go onto that website. And I tried some computers in the Internet cafe. And the same thing happened,so it was not just my computer.But am I right in that the website I visited was trying to install,spyware,a virus or malware on my computer and someone elses computer as well?As I explain the website is a well known and genuine website that I have visited in the past,well two weeks ago in fact. But now it redirects to that page which seems IS trying to install spyware on an unsuspecting persons computer. And it is not just my computer was trying to do it on.So am I right was it spyware or a computer virus,that, that redirect was trying to install on my computer? And if so is there anything we can do about it?As I reported the website link to Google and Yahoo and they have not taken it off of the search engine.
I downloaded from the HP site the drivers for the HP 6480 printer for Window 7. However the printer does not print. When I try a test page, it comes through the printer, but no print is on the page. The window on the printer shows what looks like two ? Marks above the two icons that looks like tear drops. I can't get rid of the ?.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI just reformatted my computer and installed Windows 7 64bit. I can access the internet just fine on Google Chrome. I can download at the fastest speed my connection will allow. Some programs, 2 in particular, won't allow connections but others will. Examples are: Ventrilo, and PlayOnline will access the internet, but GSC and Final Fantasy XI will not allow connections. I've gone through the router and opened ports for them, disabled UAC and windows firewall. I do not have any other firewall or virus scanner installed yet as they interfered on previous systems setting up my commonly used programs. I've also tried running the programs as administrator to no avail.

Does anyone know how to change the looks of IE8, I have done system restore and all the other resets that I know. The page color changed, the layout has changed and it has all sorts of things I do not wish to have on the page, even the font size seems to have changed. I run Norton 360 2012 and have good protection.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOk so I have a fairly new computer that had Vista on it. I got the free upgrade and upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium. I've been using 7 for about 3 weeks now with no problems at all. Then out of nowhere approx 3-4 days ago, the internet doesn't seem to want to cooperate. Once in a while web pages wouldnt load and now most of the time my browser will fail to load any pages. I called my ISP tech support and everything is fine on their end, and I can confirm that I am indeed connected because I can play multiplayer games, use utorrent and occasionally msn messenger.I've tried both Firefox 3.5.5 (default) and IE 8. It appears that there is some conflict somewhere that is denying me internet access. I need this resolved ASAP since most of my school notes are online and it's midterm/finals time.
While talking to tech support I was advised that restoring windows to a backup may solve the problem. So I did that with a backup that was 3 days old and it worked for maybe an hour then I had the same problem.I should also note that I am NOT using wireless. I have a wired cable connection.When the browser does decide to work, I find that it is very slow. Even my download speeds on utorrent have decreased drastically.
My Desktop is connected to my router vie WiFi and it says I have connection to the Internet. However, i cannot access any website, be it by typing in the name or the IP address.At the same time, I can ping all websites. I can find them via tracert, which also nicely resolves the IP adresses of any sites I type in. I also tried two different WiFi dongles (Cisco and D-Link) both have identical problems.I reset the winsocket and i tried to log in as another user - to no avail.To make things even stranger, I cannot even access the router (192.168.1.1), but i CAN access the NAS connected to the router (192.168.1.100).The laptop which is connected to the router via WiFi has no troubles accessing either the router or the outside world so I am fairly certain that the problem lies with my computer and not with the access point.My computer gets his IP via DHCP (fixed on 105) and is within the same subnetmask as the router and has the routers IP adress as standard gateway (all that via dhcp).

Although, when I connect it directly to the modem, it works fine. When I use our wireless connection with a router, the Skype works but my internet browser and yahoo messenger doesnt. After the end of trial period AVG asked me if I want to upgrade to paid version or remain using free version with restricted options. I chose to keep the free version.After som days Windows error center recommend me with a Flag to install a Antivirus product and offer a Web page with alternative product. I then wanted to try any other Antivirus product.I decided to try Bullgard Security, downloaded it and then started installation. During installation Bullgard ask me if it first should remove previous security products and listed Windows Defender and AVG as installed or if I want them to remain in the system.
I chose to leave them and get through with the installation and Bullgard then want to restart Windows. During login and start up procedures Bullgard installation program started automatically. Its asked again if I want to first uninstall the other security product. This time I answered Yes and was then asked if I want to uninstall the other product one by one. It then started AVG uninstall program. If You use default options AVG keeps some minimal security detection and remains on the computer. In the tray You see the AVG icon, but because it was in the normally hided section I didn't see that AVG was loaded after the Restart of Windows.Suddenly I couldn't reach any Web pages whit any browser, also I couldn't run installation program that download a part from the net before it could start installation so Bullgard couldn't bee installed.
Window says that I have Internet connection and You can use for instance Windows update and several programs update function. I first used AVG installation file to repair AVG. I then used normal Control Panel - Uninstall for AVG and AVG uninstall program started. I go to advanced options and chose to totally uninstall AVG and delete all user data. I also on another computer downloaded a AVG-tool that detects remaining AVG installation and files and then remove them. It couldn't find any thing.After next restart the http protocol error still remains, I first think it was faulty DNS settings for the network adapter and manually set them as another functional Laptven if I put in IP-address in the browser address field it says it can't reach that page and installation program that want to download parts from the Internet and for instance Spotify says that there is no Internet connection.
