Both my xbox 360 and laptop are connected wirelessly to the same network, my laptop can see my xbox and it is set to allow sharing through Windows Media Player.
Every time I go into movies or music on my xbox it will find other computers in my flat but not mine.
networking is not an area I've playe around with much as this issue only came up when I got a new laptop, never had the problem with my old one.
I'm running windows XP home edition
Built a new PC, everything works fine except one thing. Cant get it to connect to my xbox. It shows up when I look at my Network Map, but it isnt listed under Sharing Options as a device. I have every sharing option I can find allowed and turned my firewall and antivirus off. One odd thing that I have found is that under Run<services.msc Media Center Extender Service will not stay allowed. I can change the properties to Automatic and then start the service but if I go back and look, it will be disabled again. My router settings should be fine because it worked fine on my XP machine and my Windows 7 laptop. Even works in linux.

Lately I have been experiencing random disconnects that will last from maybe 30 seconds to 2 minutes. They will happen maybe every hour or two and are becoming really annoying. At first I was using the laptops wifi abilities to connect to my router. So when these disconnects began to happen I tried plugging in an Ethernet cable into the router and still experience the same disconnects. The only other devices in the house that experience this is the xbox 360 which is connected with an ethernet cable aswell. The router that I had was an old netgear router, but in the past week we got a new router which is a SMCD3GNV. I have only had it working today and I had the problem maybe 3-4 times within the first 12 hours (with both the wifi and ethernet connection). I have tried updating the firmware and resetting the router and modem.

I used it yesterday and all was fine but today when I plugged it in for some reason it wouldn't light up nor show up on my laptop. However, today the device has stopped working (Code 43) and it now states that it is using the older version of the driver.Can anyone tell me where I can find the new driver files on my laptop, so I can manually locate them?
