[WiFi] Windows 7 Wireless Service Is Not Running?
Aug 25, 2011I have a two month old, custom built desktop running Windows 7 and last Friday, without any seeming provocation, my wireless network disappeared. My computer is completely unable to see any wireless networks. My router is working fine (I'm using it to post this from another computer), and my wireless adapter works perfectly (again, using it to post this). When I ask Windows to diagnose the problem, it tells me that the Windows wireless service is not running.After much research and several sfc scans, I can safely say that it appears to be a registry issue. System restores, both by Windows and from backups have failed to correct the errors. Connecting To WiFi / Wireless Icon Not Working
Oct 17, 2011I seem to have a problem with my WiFi. Left-clicking the wireless icon in system tray doesn't work as in literally nothing happens. When I open the network and sharing center and click on "connect to a network" then also nothing happens. Right now it's only a minor problem, because my laptop auto-connects to networks it already knows but when I want to connect to a public WiFi in a cafe for example I can't look up any networks.Also I'd like to point out that setting up a new connection to connect to a WiFi works but for that I need to already know the network name and security type. Windows can't find any problems either and I've reinstalled all network adapter drivers.

Jan 9, 2012So I have wireless internet in my house through an xfinity cable/internet modem. While I was trying to set up my new printer on the wireless network, my wireless stopped working. My computer is showing it has a full signal from my wireless network, however it unable to connect. Also, if I connect my computer via ethernet cable the internet works without a problem. Also, my 3 other roommates can no longer connect to the wireless and nothing was done with their computers. I've tried unplugging the modem and plugging it back in after 30 seconds as recommended, but nothing changed.

Jun 19, 2012I have a D-Link DIR615 router which I've been using for the past 5 months (no problems whatsoever). After i've got my laptop from the support service I can't seem to successfully connect to my home network.
My phone can connect with no problem to my router. My laptop sees other wireless networks. This is how it goes: when I try to connect it immediately says "unable to connect" when I run the diagnostics I get the "windows did not receive any response from the wireless router" message. I can only connect after like 30 mins of changing the wireless settings (usually SSID and security) from my router + rebooting it countless times. Even then, I usually check "automatically connect" and the next day after I arrive from work, it doesn't really connect automatically and can't even connect to it (unable to connect message). Even typing a wrong passphrase when it's secured it doesn't say "wrong passphrase" but "unable to connect".
Another very wierd thing is that my wireless network disappears from the network list after a few minutes, I still see other secured wireless networks.
I can connect to a wireless network made by phone (wifi hotspot) with no problems.

When I plug the Ethernet cable in the laptop it works fine but when I try to connect to the router wireless, it says it cannot connect.
I have tried unplugging the router and the signal is strong. I have set "network discovery" in the settings.
I have never used wireless before. I assume it's something simple. What other steps do I need to take?
I have noticed the signal from the router is VERY strong, then a minute later, it's not even listed. Do I need to set up a wireless network on the router? or do they automatically send out the signal?
I also set up WPA (personal) on the router. It asks for the password and says "Windows could not connect"

Dec 23, 2009I am planning on holding a LAN Party in a month or 2 and requier a bit of help because it is my first. About 6 - 10 people will be coming.
I need help on a few things and any imput people could put in would be greatly appreciated because I am very lost!
I was planning on purchasing a switch (Still not sure what to purchase yet. I am looking for something around 10 ports) and connecting it directly by a network cable to my Belkin Wireless G Universal Range Extender Router. Then connecting all the computers to the switch. All the computers connected to the switch will be running either XP, Vista or 7.
Is this going to work? What kind of settings am I going to need to change on the OS's to make them all be able to interact with each other in the games. Are their easier ways to do this?
I have no previous networking experience and am only 14, so go easy.

I got my ET1331g-05w from Walmart about 2 years ago, and it did not come with a boot disk out of the box (Had a chance to make one then but didn't...) I have backed up all my files and have been trying to do a Factory Reset but can't seem to get it to work. The Malware has made it so I cannot do a System Restore to an earlier date...
When I try to use the Emachine Recovery Management tools, the second I hit the "Completely Restore System to Factory Default" button I get a pop-up stating "Hard drive configuration is not set to the factory default. Restore aborted"...

I can't seem to find a boot-able Emachine Windows 7 downloadable disk anywhere. I should note the computer is for the most part fully functional but slower than snot, and video game and video playback has become very choppy if not usable at all!
I really don't want to go spend $100-$200 to get a new copy of Windows 7, I just want to get this dang thing reset to Factory Configuration.
