Acer Aspire One D255E Wireless Card Not Showing In Device Manager
Jan 25, 2013HeI am at wits end here trying to figure out how to fix this pc. A friend came to me with the Acer Aspire One D255E with a wireless internet issue. The PC is Running Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. I immediately thought "well there must be a switch that she turned off" There is no switch on the computer for the wireless card. I thought "well there must be a driver issue, Ill go to the device manager and update the driver for it". Then when I got to the device manager... Nothing shows up for a wireless lan card even existing in the laptop, but I know it does, because A) It's a "net Book" B) she was using the internet last week. So, I thought maybe it's not showing up because thee computer needs the drivers for it first, which is unusual, but since its windows 7 starter I thought it needed a kick in the rear to get it goin. So i downloaded all the drivers for the PC using a different computer, and installed the different drivers to see which one would work. Well none of them worked, and now im sitting here scratching my head on what to do next. I have scoured the web and seen a few other people with issues like this.

Jul 30, 2012Missing wifi adapter Drivers on Aspire one D255E How do i fix this adapter I'm Running windows 7 starter 32 bit . I'm pretty Confident this is reason why its failed me " A friend asked me to disable my wifi for a bit '' interfering with there laptop wifi connection '' I disable the wifi adapter for and hour.. When i went to re enable it, Surprise It disappeared !. I Tried everything I no to get back on line with having no access to net but no luck. Jun 20, 2010My sister just got a Acer Aspire One 5032H, which came with the crappy windows 7 starter on it, and all WAS working. I installed windows 7 ultimate, which I got through my company and have installed on over 6 computers before with no problems. After installing the new operating system, the wifi card (Atheros) does not find our home wifi network. The other computers in the house pick up the wifi fine. Ive installed the newest version of the driver several times and tried the uninstall stuff as well. Ive updated a few other drivers as well by plugging the computer into an Ethernet cable.The orange light is on under the wifi symbol (no sure if it should be blue), the computer says that the card is working properly, and that it is enabled.

May 25, 2009I have an Acer Aspire 1800 that I installed Windows 7 RC onto. I was completely impressed with the ease of the installation and how it seemed to find a driver for everything on my laptop. Well almost everything. Apparently the Os can't find a driver for my wifi and the manufacturer doesn't seem to want to help.
Has anyone else used this particular laptop and ahd any luck? I hate that the only thing not having a driver in the Device Manager is the WiFi.

Aug 3, 2012I just bought a used Acer Aspire One 10.1 netbook and I am having some issues. When I got it the pc needed 17 windows updates done. So I did that but I am not sure all the updates worked properly as the machine shut down but never rebooted after finishing updates. After I turned it back on I tried to connect to the internet through my wireless router (which is working fine for other devices), nothing. So I tried a wired connection, nothing again. The wireless is finding my router it is just not hooking up to the internet. I tried ipconfig/all in the cmd prompt and all it shows is that the media is disconnected??? My computer is completely unable to see any wireless networks.
