I recently upgraded my friends netbook from Windows 7 Starter 32 Bit to Windows 7 Ultimate 32 BitBefore the upgrade it could connect to the internet wired and wireless, Now it can't connect even if i plug in the Ethernet cable to it. I checked on the netbook and it says that it doesn't have any Ethernet Controller or Network Adapter installed

View 2 Replies View RelatedHeI am at wits end here trying to figure out how to fix this pc. A friend came to me with the Acer Aspire One D255E with a wireless internet issue. The PC is Running Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. I immediately thought "well there must be a switch that she turned off" There is no switch on the computer for the wireless card. I thought "well there must be a driver issue, Ill go to the device manager and update the driver for it". Then when I got to the device manager... Nothing shows up for a wireless lan card even existing in the laptop, but I know it does, because A) It's a "net Book" B) she was using the internet last week. So, I thought maybe it's not showing up because thee computer needs the drivers for it first, which is unusual, but since its windows 7 starter I thought it needed a kick in the rear to get it goin. So i downloaded all the drivers for the PC using a different computer, and installed the different drivers to see which one would work. Well none of them worked, and now im sitting here scratching my head on what to do next. I have scoured the web and seen a few other people with issues like this.

I'm pretty Confident this is reason why its failed me " A friend asked me to disable my wifi for a bit '' interfering with there laptop wifi connection '' I disable the wifi adapter for and hour.. When i went to re enable it, Surprise It disappeared !. I Tried everything I no to get back on line with having no access to net but no luck. View 1 Replies View Relatedmy Acer Aspire 5738G to factory settings. (I've done it before and i never seemed to have a problem). I know it should be simple to do this, by simply pressing "Alt" and "F10" at the Acer Splashpage when you bootup, and going to the acer eRecovery page. But when i do this i get the error message."HDD RECOVERY VALIDATION FAILED" I've tried my hardest, searched all over google for a solution, but every problem seems to be different.And i can't figure out what is particularly wrong with my computer. I am only an amateur when it comes to computers, and disks, partitions, locating partitions, etc etc is not my strong suit. Is there anyway i can check if the hidden partition "PQservice" is still in my drives? If it helps in anyway, i though i might mention that the previous time i restored back to factory settings.When i completed it, i didn't fully complete the windows installation process, and now whenever i log into my computer, it mentions that my "windows is not yet genuine, click here to register it blah blah blah". I didn't bother doing it because i assumed it wasn't vital, i was and have still been able to use my computer fine for the past year or so without having to do it.

-Sim Card Reader
-Fingerprint Reader (and software)
-Media Control (Seems to work, but the volume does not follow the pad properly)
I have been on the Phone with Acer Support due to a battery problem (the battery is not charging) and they say it's due to Windows 7, as opposed to the battery being dead (I just received my laptop back from Acer repair due to the motherboard being dead, who knows how the handled the laptop, I obtainned it back with several deep dinks which where not there when it was shipped) so maybe I need the right driver for it to.

I cant seem to find any drivers for my webcam and card reader, any suggestions?
I have an Acer Aspire 5720. It is not listed on Acer's website as compatible with Win 7, however many other models with the same specs are. I have been able to find drivers for most of the hardware. The only ones I cannot locate are a Windows 7 x64 driver for both the Alps Touchpad and the Bison Crystal Eye webcam. I am an adventurous one, and have a solid backup, so I am going to try it anyway. I was just looking for any assistance in locating those two drivers.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but any pointers would be hugely appreciated! I'm running an ACER Aspire 5920G laptop, which comes with Vista 32-bit installed. I'd really like to give the Windows 7 RC candidate a try, but don't want to screw anything up!
I'm going to add a new partition so I can dual-boot the existing OS with the new one, but my major concerns come from ensuring the hardware works acceptably. The graphics chipset in the 5920G is a Radeon 3470 HD Mobility, and I keep it up to date under Vista using the Mobility Modifier software. Will the same modified drivers work fine with Windows 7 RC? (I'm hoping that there might be someone on this board who's been in a similar position).
Also (and this isn't quite on the topic of drivers), the laptop has 4gb of RAM installed - is it worth using a 64-bit version of Windows 7 RC, or does that complicate matters unnecessarily?
