i have a laptop Acer Aspire 5515 and i have windows vista I wan't to upgrade to windows 7 RTM my question is i need special drivers ?? i can install vista drivers in windows 7 ? windows 7 search automatically drivers for my laptop ?
Specs: 3gb ddr2 Amd athlon 2650e 1.60ghz Ati x1200
I installed the realtek audio drivers for windows vista from the Acer website, ran them in compatibility mode and still Windows won't detect it. There are also no audio devices shown in the device manager.
I have an Acer Aspire 6920 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and can not find the drivers (Even from Acer Website and Windows Update) For the following:
-Sim Card Reader
-Fingerprint Reader (and software)
-Media Control (Seems to work, but the volume does not follow the pad properly)
I have been on the Phone with Acer Support due to a battery problem (the battery is not charging) and they say it's due to Windows 7, as opposed to the battery being dead (I just received my laptop back from Acer repair due to the motherboard being dead, who knows how the handled the laptop, I obtainned it back with several deep dinks which where not there when it was shipped) so maybe I need the right driver for it to.
Acer wants me to reinstall their Vista OEM - not going to happen.
I have an Acer Aspire 5720. It is not listed on Acer's website as compatible with Win 7, however many other models with the same specs are. I have been able to find drivers for most of the hardware. The only ones I cannot locate are a Windows 7 x64 driver for both the Alps Touchpad and the Bison Crystal Eye webcam. I am an adventurous one, and have a solid backup, so I am going to try it anyway. I was just looking for any assistance in locating those two drivers.
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but any pointers would be hugely appreciated! I'm running an ACER Aspire 5920G laptop, which comes with Vista 32-bit installed. I'd really like to give the Windows 7 RC candidate a try, but don't want to screw anything up!
I'm going to add a new partition so I can dual-boot the existing OS with the new one, but my major concerns come from ensuring the hardware works acceptably. The graphics chipset in the 5920G is a Radeon 3470 HD Mobility, and I keep it up to date under Vista using the Mobility Modifier software. Will the same modified drivers work fine with Windows 7 RC? (I'm hoping that there might be someone on this board who's been in a similar position).
Also (and this isn't quite on the topic of drivers), the laptop has 4gb of RAM installed - is it worth using a 64-bit version of Windows 7 RC, or does that complicate matters unnecessarily?
I am about to install Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 5920 but don't know if the touchpad drivers will work on Windows 7. I know that the touchpad will work but worried about the scroll down/up feature of the touchpad. Which you can only make work with Acer software, but they don't support Windows 7 right now.
i have an acer aspire 3620 laptop and recently i have installed windows 7 instead of XP. The problem is that after the installation i have no sound, bluetooth and wi fi.At the site if acer there are only drivers for XP and not for 7. I have also spoke with the acer mechanics in greece and they have confirmed that they don't have drivers for win 7.
I have just installed Windows 7 Professional on to my Acer Aspire 5735 and now half of the functions of the laptop don't work, such as the card reader and volume control. How I can fix this or find updated drivers as I cannot find anything on the Acer website.
I have a acer aspire 5935G 64bit running Windows 7 home premium and cannot for the life of me get the internal speakers to work I have been on the acer website and downloaded Audio_Realtek_18.104.22.16832_W7x64W7x86_A as recommended by the site but to no joy.At first I just downloaded and tried to install which didn't work - well it said it did but the little speaker in the bottom left has a 'x' in the centre when clicked it says there is a issue and tries to fix it then fails. My device manager has one failed driver 'with yellow/orange exclamation mark' on high definition audio controller. Other sound drivers that do not have a error are another high def audio controller which are both in the system devices section, and then theres a hdmi audio controller in speakers and sound section. I then tried to disable then uninstall all sound drivers and try again which gave me the same result as above. Now after unstalling it one click on speaker and it installs windows audio drivers which do not work.
