I have changed my profile picture now many times but for somereason Facebook keeps changing my user id to somebody elses picture and i have no idea how to change it, has anybody else had the same issue or can anybody tell me how to change it???

what it is is when i change the 128 x 128 picture's size to 64 x 64 and set it as user account picture and see the log on screen, it doesn't actually shrink. instead what i am getting is a blurry version still with the size of 128 x 128.

I then created a new user profile but when I try to login I get the message 'The User Profile Service failed the login'. When I set these values back to normal, new accounts work fine but I really want my user accounts on the second partition.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new motherboard and installed it into my desktop. I had win7 on my HD and thought it would be a good idea for a fresh install. Well upon start up it always automatically restarts at the "Windows is starting" screen with the logo. I have tried starting in safe mode, I have tried repairing and installing with the win7 CD and a bootable win7 usb, I have tried disabling the "Automatic restart on system failure" option. Nothing is working, it just restarts and reboots just to do it again.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm fairly technical and was a network and tech Director for a few years so have some familiarity with prior Windows versions but Win 7 is a bit new to me. I went to login today, and my login picture had been changed. Looking in Windows Event Viewer under Security, I can see it occurred at 12:25 in the morning. I was on another computer at that time, and running a utility from Microsoft on the PC in question that just collects system information.I was trying to figure out why it changed and reviewing the event logs. I don't see the reason, only that an account change occurred. I replicated it by changing my picture again to another one, and the same system event occurred confirming its identity.So basically, I had a flower as the login picture. On its own, it changed to a fish. I didn't make the change. I wasn't even using this machine at that time; however a Windows utility from MS was running -- but -- I reran that same utility tonight (it's one that just reports system usage) and it did not change the picture so I believe that is coincidence. why would Windows 7 change the default logon picture for a user on its own to something else? To help with information the utility that MS had me run was the Microsoft Product Support Reports.
There are also multiple instances on this computer, the one where the picture changed on its own, of another PC that was running Windows 2000 logging into it as a SYSTEM, and then logging back out, then in and out continuously but not in a pattern that would make me think it was a process. My other machines on the network do not have that issue in the log file.I checked the McAfee Firewall, and it was enabled. It has been catching attempts to login to VNC but they've been denied. VNC is also disabled.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new Dell N311z I've noticed that when the brightness of my screen is anywhere between maximum and minimum it automatically decreases or increases on will, without me doing anything.
I've also noticed that when the background on the LCD is of a darker colour the brightness decreases and when it's a lighter background the brightness increases itself.
I've tried everything from disabling the ambient light sensor to calling up Dell customer care and after having spent 3 hours on doing what they made me do it still hasn't fixed my problem. I reset the laptop to the factory settings, i reinstalled all the drivers as well.

I have an HP machine that came with Vista. When I got this machine it had some major hardware problems these were fixed.I then had to replace th OS so I went with Win 7. The OS installed fine but I used my name during the install process that was ok because I was going to keep it. Then a very close friend of mine needed a computer because her old XP had died. I decided to give her the HP. I went into system and chaged the, computer name, and control panel, User's and changed that name both area's show that name. But when I go into my computer, C: drive, users my name is still there and I can not change it. The only solution I know might be to get into the regedit and change it there.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. I used the Easy Transfer program to migrate my files. I reinstalled some of my software before moving my user settings back onto the system.
I went in to change my User Account pictures and there is no option to save changes to either account. It shows the picture selection but no Save Changes button at the bottom of the window.
I'm back to hating Microsoft unless this is my user error. (and using Windows doesn't count as an error)
The upgrade has been working pretty well for Microsoft and I'm really pleased with the improved performance but get irritated by the little challenges.
Any suggestions?
I was wondering if there is a way in which you can change the size of the user picture in the logon screen... What I mean here... is that, no matter the picture you use for it, the logon screen shows it at a "fixed" size... but sometimes, it is shown in a little frame, while in other PC's, you can see it bigger... I don't know if it's matter of resolutions... I hope I'm getting understood. is there a way to control or change that?See ya!!!

It says it's deleted successfully, but I'm having symptoms that say otherwise. What's been happening that tells me something is not right is that since yesterday, when I open a browser (any browser), I get a message that the proxy is refusing the connection, and when I check the settings, it shows the connection settings have been changed to "Manual Proxy Settings" with my computer's local host IP used as the proxy IP. I have searched for removal tools, but Firefox's Web of Trust tells me all the search results are rated "bad/" and the Microsoft Malware Encyclopedia doesn't offer a link for one.

Just want to know if theres a way to set it so say if I left my user aco**** on and then it went to screensave that when I moved the mouse it would go to the switch user screen. So my account can still be logged on about it will show the user aco****s screen when I move the mouse/wake up computer.

I set up an account with my name on it but the folder name is still USER. It's locked and Rename isn't listed in the options menu displayed when I right-click it. How can I change the folder name?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI changed my user account to the Windows 7 Super Admin account because I am easily annoyed when a computer tries to lock me out of areas :P I am completely okay with this and have no issues. However, many people keep telling me all about how this is a very bad thing to do, e.g.if I get a virus the virus has full control of my system. I dont disagree with this and I can understand it, I just find the benefits of super admin outweigh the risk considering I generally know what I am doing, how to avoid viruses, etc.
I have considered though swapping back to a regular admin account and enabling UAC, however there is so much data, programs installed, program preferences, etc stored on my user, last time I changed it was about a month before things were back to normal. Does anyone know how I could just change the permissions of my current account (the super admin account)?

Example: Computer > Local Disk > Users > MyWifethe mywife is the locked folder that I want to change to my nameHow in the world do I go about doing this? I will do a complete system restore if I must. I realize that I'd have to reload a bunch of software, etc. and my music. View 1 Replies View RelatedI build, and then support many computers for my friends and family. I have recently started making them feel a bit more "manufactured" by using a factory-style recovery option (press F9 at boot to enter recovery / uses a hidden recovery partition etc...).
The issue I have though, is I often get asked to "wipe" someone's computer following a virus/malware infestation (and yes, I do supply AV, but that isn't always enough).
So, I use Sysprep to install all additional software, drivers etc... but the one problem I have is that I like to have, and usually always configure PC's to store items like Documents/Pictures/Music/Videos etc... on a seperate partition.
The problem is, when I configure this in Sysprep - the settings are lost when the user completes OOBE.
Ideally, I do not want to move the entire "Users" directory, I just want the libraries to never look at any folders on the C: drive, only the ones on D: (D:\%USERNAME%Documents etc...).
I want it so that when files "detect" where to save, it locates the appropriate directory on the D: drive, so they dont have to always manually locate the folders.
The reason I dont want the entire "Users" folder on D: is that following a restore or 2, it will get messy...
I would like to either automate this during setup, or would happily take a manual approach during Sysprep - as long as it applied these settings to all users as and when they are created.
I would like the cleanest way to do this, ideally without junctions/symlinks.
i've changed drive letters of my hdd and partitions so that coused loss of user;s files foldr content. before i have done that change there were two partitions - C and D. on parition D were my music, my pictures and my videos content, but after i changed drive letter from D to E all those folders are gone. i can make shortcuts, but i want it to be like it used to be when i have installed Windows 7.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently running Windows 7 64-bit off of an 80 GB SSD while storing the majority of my programs (and documents, videos, etc.) on my 1 TB other drive. I am quickly running out of space on the SSD and I think it has to do with the fact that it keeps my saved game files there in the User directory while some saves stay on the F (1 TB) drive. Is there a way to transfer/redirect the profile so that it defaults to saving in a User folder on my F drive?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis all started whenever I wanted to change my text size different by changing my DPI settings. What I did was right click, go to screen resolution, and clicked on "Make text and other items larger or smaller". From this I changed it to 100% from 125%. I noticed it had changed my font size to the 100%. It then made everything SUPER small when I changed my theme settings.Whenever I right click and go into personalization settings, I do the usual customizing to my likings. Since I want to save the theme, I do so by naming it, blah. Now I want to use the blah theme by click on it, and I do so. Everything is fine and dandy until I right click my desktop to refresh(out of habit). This is the before and after of the font sizes.

My workaround was to set a custom DPI setting, log off like it prompts me to, then changing it back to 100%, again prompting to do so. It is so annoying to do so.
