May 21, 2011So ive been getting the black screen with movable cursor lately and have tried many a methods to remove it i tried checking in my event log for something, and this is waht it said "The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:dtsoftbus01" So what does this mean and how can i fix this?

Mar 7, 2012Monday couldn't boot up PC, had to go to system recovery and restore to previous day.
Log files show below that 4 things failed to load. Tuesday couldn't boot up PC again.. tried to restart like 4-5 times.. Finally comes up and in the logs there's numerous things that failed to load. Running a sfc /scannow right now.

I realized some of these are not Windows 7 related but most are. While the computer "works", I do experience frequent reboots and freezes. Perhaps some of these driver loading failures are part of the cause of my issues.

It has proven to be a very useful tool that our IT department uses on an almost daily basis. What I like about Netmeeting is it is very easy to set up RDS when I get a new Windows XP (we haven't made the move to Vista) workstation ready to replace one on the "shop floor". Now I'm testing Windows 7 and I was wondering what the concensus (if any) on what to use when the move to Windows 7 is made, as I don't think MS is going to let us slide anymore with XP, for RDS in a mixed environment (XP, Windows 7, Server 2003)?

Aug 23, 2011My HP Elite 8100 PC was giving 5 beeps upon powering up. I suspected the motherboard was at fault so called HP's technical support and they confirmed this. As my product is under warranty they sent me a new motherboard. I fitted it and the PC turned on ok and I saved the new config but it does not boot Windows. It gives me the options to run 'Startup Recovery' which does nothing at all and 'Start Windows Normally' which just loops back to this option screen. I called HP back and they say I shouldn't have had to have done anything else to enable the new motherboard to work so sent me another one and the same thing has happened.

May 26, 20121. I have 2 computers - one running Windows 7 Pro x64 (main computer for work and gaming) and the other running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (second computer)
2. Both Windows 7 installations are OEM.
3. The second computer has been sitting dead for close to a year because the motherboard died and I have not really wanted to spend money getting it running until now.
4. The route I am taking is to upgrade the main computer (motherboard, CPU, and RAM) and put the current "main" motherboard, CPU, RAM into the 2nd computer.
Logic would dictate that I ONLY upgrade the 2nd computer and make it the main computer. However, the Main computer has an SSD Hard Drive in it and the 2nd one does not. So, I'd prefer to keep the SSD HD for it's speed. That's why I've chosen this convoluted replacement process. There are other reasons for the convoluted process if you need elaboration let me know.I did see a person ask about upgrading and keeping their license. I'm not sure if Microsoft views reasons for hardware changes due to failure differently. I suppose it's a matter of luck?

Everything is working fine, but here is my question - the original hard drive was 750 GB and the new one is 1TB. After doing the system restore the hard drive properties show the identical size of the failed drive - not the new larger size. The BIOS shows the correct size. Does the Windows System Image set up the new hard drive exactly as the old one, so it will only access the original 750 GB

Jul 1, 2011I was having some problems with my computer. Seemed like it had a minor virus that my Norton wasn't getting rid of. I have all my files backed up so I decided to start with a clean slate and just restore my computer back to factory settings.i have a Dell Inspiron laptop. I performed the Dell DataSafe Restore and Emergency BackUp. I followed all the instructions and everything went fine. It told me it was successful and to restart the computer. I restarted and now Windows 7 will not work.i turn my computer on and a screen comes up that says "Windows Error Recovery" it gives me two options to "Launch Startup Repair" or "Start Windows Normally"... Starting normally just sends me backwards. I tried the Start Up Repair and it begins to run and then I get an error that it can not repair. There are some problem details/signatures if that is helpful but I don't understand them.I can't run in safe mode. I never made a set of recovery discs, I only have the disc the computer came with (drivers and software installation).

Dec 21, 2010I purchased a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium a while ago and installed it. I kept Windows XP on the pc and had the option at start up of which operating system I would like at start up. Everything was running fine for quite some time until about 2 weeks ago. The system started to "freeze"....unable to do anything! The hard disk light was now showing as constantly on. The only thing to do was turn it off and restart. It didn't matter whether I was using windows 7 or XP.Eventually I decided to do a clean re-install of Windows 7. The installation kept "freezing" at various points and eventually installed after about 5 attempts. I have installed NO programs, internet, peripherals or anything, so the systems is just "as is" after a clean reinstall but the system STILL freezes after various amounts of time....sometimes 5 minutes...sometimes as long as 30 minutes.I am only playing the in-build solitaire or Freecell to "test" how long till it freezes! Usually now tho the hard drive light is not constantly on when it freezes! Does anybody have any idea how to resolve this. I (foolishly!) thought that doing a clean install would sort everything as the hard drive is formatted at the beginning of the installation.I took a print out of the system details and installed programs (eventually!) using Belarc Advisor before reinstalling.

May 3, 2012So the SMART program has warned me about an imminent hard drive crash for a while. Yesterday Windows was installing updates when my dad closed the laptop lid, when I come home afterschool today, I open the lid and it is frozen. Windows warns not to power off during the updates but since it is frozen I have no choice so I power it off. I have constantly getting BSODs, and have to do a system restore everyday so I was not too worried when it wouldn't start up. So i hit f11 when i turn on my computer and it takes me to the HP Recovery Manager, HOWEVER this time the option to do a System Restore was greyed out and I can't click it! I don't have working recovery CDs so what can I do about this?? My new hard drive is also coming in tomorrow, but i won't be able to replace my failing hard drive when my Pc can't even start up now, and I can't do a system recovery to fix it...

Windows 7 Won't Start Up (System Recovery Options)
Dec 16, 2009Yesterday I installed Windows 7 on my computer and everything worked perfect the internet, music, etc... The problem is that when i resterted some screen said: System Recovery Options and I couldn't use the computer so installed W-7 again but now I'm afraid to shut down my computer because I don't want to re-install it again and again. What can I do to no get the System recovery options screen. My computer is a Gateway.
This is what the System Recovery Options screen says:
1. Select language
2. Select an [COLOR=#0072bc !important][COLOR=#0072bc !important]operating [COLOR=#0072bc !important]system[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR] to repair and click Next. (I clicked Windows 7)
3. Password
4. I've done it 3 times and it doesn't work. and I'm getting tired of re-installing.
System Freezes When Start It And When Try To Reinstall Windows 7?
Oct 31, 2012I built my computer a year a ago and I haven't had any signifigant problems untill last week. My computer randomly shut itself off and ever since then I can not get past the start up screen. The orbs begin to fly around but then the system either locks up or restarts. I can not access safe mode or even revert it back to the last stable mode. I tried re installing Windows but after downloading the files from the disk the computer freezes and restarts.
