View 2 RepliesI find my machine Windows 7 guest os is slow in connecting to the network after booting up.It has not always been like that though I cannot remember when it started.It boots fine and then the exclamation mark comes on and it takes maybe 30 seconds till it connects.

I am trying to connect to a network (I have a dell running on windows 7) and it keeps telling me that windows is unable to connect to the network-this is before I can even enter the security key. I know it is not a problem with the wireless because other people are able to connect to it fine.

But after we created the individual users like john@domainname.local to all users. this is i believe the cause of problem. When we acess the server via the software it freezed for 5 seconds and then repeat to normal state. And after some time it hangs for 2 minutes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI connected two notebooks via a TP-Link router (Wlan 54g). The first computer is a brand new Samsung RF511 Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with Intel I7, 8GB Ram. The second is a 5 year old HP Pavilion DV5000 device with Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit.
It dosent matter if i connect via Homegroup or direct over the network to the files. The speed of transmission between the two computers is about 3-400KB. Sometime, i get about 7-800 KB.
I realized, that the setup of the Network IF of windows 7 is slower than it was on XP. Sometimes the setup is also not working correctly resulting in an unavailable Network connection, so that I have to deactivate and reactivate the network adapter (even this does not help every time) Setup means the phase after rebooting or waking up from hibernate.
There is no difference on different networks. The Network Interface is a Intel 82567LM Gigabit. Driver are the newest from MS.
Are there any tricks to get a faster/ reliably network set up time?
Why would 5 of my windows 7 machines be running slow on our school network. I have updated drivers. We also have new laptops which are running windows 7 and access the network wirelessly. These are fine. The Main server is 2008 r2 while the data is stored on a 2003 server.

I never had this problem when my comp was running vista home premium as opposed to windows 7 I flashed the BIOS on my mobo to the latest version and I have all windows updates. Any ideas what I can do to speed things up when accessing this drive?
View 3 Replies View RelatedNew Windows 7 Ultimate PC cannot connect to my home network or the internet for around 15-20 mins and then it will suddenly work. Windows reports 'No connections are available' and Occasionally jumps to 'identifying network' then back to 'No connections are available' until it gets a connection. Once connected everything works perfectly until i reboot the machine. The network connection is fine as other computers can connect quickly without problems through the same cable.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was dealing with a BSOD problem which I was helped with greatly over in the BSOD section. It basically led me to doing a fresh install of windows 7, and I have not had a BSOD since. But since I have done a fresh install, When I wake my desktop up from sleep mode, it takes about a minute to a minute and a half for it to connect to my network. Before I did the fresh install. I would wake my computer up, and my internet connection would be ready right away. My wireless adapter is TL-WN851ND. I have turned off the power save feature on my adapter, and also turned off the power save feature that windows has, and its still doing this, and I really cant figure out why. Its really not a HUGE deal, as long as it connects, but I am an extremely impatient person when it comes to things like this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've read through these forums and tried to do everything I could to make it work but I cannot seem to get it connected. My XP network is an existing network and I am trying to add a windows 7 64 home edition machine. I can ping back and forth between all of the computers using IP and comp name. I can connect to the windows 7 machine from my XP machines but my XP machines do not show up on my windows 7 machine. They all have the same workgroup name. There is no software or firewall blocking them. I have all of the services running that I found in these forums and set them to automatic. I set my IPv4 to NetBIOS over TCP/IP. I don't know what else to do to make this work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a connection issue with my new computer running Windows 7 Professional x64. When I first set it up, the wireless connection worked flawlessly, and then the next day the internet cut out and has not connected since (currently 2 days). Note that I can still connect to the Network, it is just the internet connection that is the issue. Other computers and devices can still connect to the network and internet, and as a temp fix I am using a wired connection to the same router.
My router is a Dynalink RTA1025W Rev2 using WPA2-Personal security, and my computer has a 802.11n Wireless LAN Card.
Release / Renew the IPFlushing the DNSCreating a static IP addressUpdating the wireless driverUninstalling / re-installing the network card / driverResetting the modem/routerResetting the computerDisabling the firewallChanging the security type (tried WEP and none)System restoring the computerWiping the computer back to it's original state I've probably tried a couple more things that have now slipped to the back of my mind in the many hours of frustration which I have encountered. None of the above have worked, even temporarily.
I have also attempted to connect to a neighbor's unsecured wireless network, however I was also unsuccessful with that.
I recently moved from an XP machine to Windows 7 Home premium and I am now unable to connect to network shares, printers, etc at work. This is a laptop that I use both at home and at work and it's not in the domain (neither was the XP machine). On the XP machine I just mapped network drives and printers using the server name and then used my network credentials (domainusername and password). The Windows 7 machine is in the network (it's wired through ethernet) and I can access the internet through our proxy server. When I look under "Network", I see all of the servers and clients on the network, but when I try to connect to one of them, I am prompted for login/password- once I enter these, it says "Logon failure: unknown username or bad password".
View 6 Replies View RelatedMe again, so I know why the Windows 7 HP PC in my last thread won't connect to a wired network here at work, however I've just tried to connect this PC (which is running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, 2.6Ghz Quad core, 4GB RAM (it's an Acer Veriton X275)) and I get the same stuff. It sees an unidentifed local area connection but it tells me there is no internet access and no network access. Not only is this annoying, but having just got the company to spend over 450 on copies of Windows 7 Pro for 4 other PCs (as well as memory upgrades for 2) it's more than a little worrying!
why this Windows 7 PRO PC won't connect to a wired network? Server PC is running Windows Server 2000, coming through a Netgear switch.
In desperation, all boffins, geeks and wizards at Microsoft I need help. I have had a home network now for at least 10 years and for the first time, I just cannot get it to work. That is since I upgraded to supa dupa Win 7 Prof. I have three machines in the network, two laptops and one desktop. Printers, backup drives etc all attached to the desktop. Desktop and one laptop running Win 7 Prof. One laptop running Xp.
In a nutshell, I have tried everything on this website and others and nothing works. I am no idiot around this stuff and I am simply dumb founded. I have set up and recreated Homegroup, changed settings, disabled my Eset firewall as well as win firewall. You name it I have tried it to no avail. After doing some research it appears many, many people have a similar problems. Machine can see each other, but come hell or high water, cannot access. I am soooo disappointed with this. Please tell me there is something different that I can try. At this point, all my hardware is locked out since upgrading to Win 7.
i have following problem. At work we have HP proliant ml350 server with windows server 2008 on it, 3x windows 7 client and 25x win xp sp2 clients. Network doesn't work, clients cant see each other, can't see server and server can't see them in network and sharing center. What could be a problem? Is ipv6 protokol on windows 7 obstructing a server or something else?

My computer recently started having issues........ here is what is going on:
* boot computer
* Windows boot screen displayed ~ 1 minute

From when I press the power button to when I can actually use my computer takes 10 - 15 minutes. Here is what I have tried so far:
* Turning off all start up programs / services
* Uninstalled AVG anti virus
* PC Tools Registry mechanic registry clean up
* Tested Memory - passed
* Hard Drive Self Test ---- # 1 - 7 fail / #10008 Fail > I am guessing that this is the source of the problem, however my computer does still work once everything is finally booted. So I don't know what to do with that information or if that test even matters.
* I have tried looking at the event viewer but every time it says that the event log service is unavailable > I try turning on Windows Event Log but that does not change anything
* I tried "netsh winsock reset" in command prompt, based on a different thread that I found - it didn't work

I do a lot of wifi hotspot testing over Teamviewer. When the hotspot doesn't work I lose the Teamviewer connection. Is there any way to make Windows connect to a specific network after about 60 seconds or so?
If I can choose the specific wifi network to make Windows to connect to after a set amount of time my life would be much easier!
