4.This process failed and "Folder Lock" shut down and since then I cannot locate the locker anymore on my PC nor can I see it in "Folder Protect"
5.Having read on a forum, I uninstalled "Folder Protect" and reinstalled...but that did not help..I still could not find the Locker.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS laptop running Windows 7 64 big home premium. a few days ago I brought it out of sleep mode and when the page came up for my password I had no touch pad or keyboard control. I have tried restarting. I tried using a USB keyboard. I also tried Safe mode and I've got nothing. I turned it off with the power button since I had no other choice. When it comes up with "Windows did not properly shut down" screen i can use my keyboard to select options, however, after the screen I've got nothing. My login screen comes up like normal. I even have a flashing cursor in the password box yet my touch pad and keyboard do nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am rebooting "Windows 7" more than any prior version of Windows for one simple reason. When my computer comes out of a sleep mode and I click to log on to an existing session, the keyboard can no longer be used. Often when I attempt to type on the keyboard, the mouse is then lost as well.
If I instead log on and then immediately do a restart - everything is fine. So, now I have fallen into the habit of restarting every time. It takes less time for me to do that then getting something started with the mouse and then freezing the system by trying to type something. So I just accept the restart and avoid the reboot. But, essentially the restart is a reboot.
Very frustrating! Then a few times I have gone directly to the Microsoft website and they do not even mention the issue in their database. It's like no matter how many people mention the same "windows 7" "loses keyboard", Microsoft just does not care. It goes against all the other facts that say "Windows 7" is the most stable version of Windows.
I received an update to windows 7 on my hp PC. One of the updates was for nvidia software, however I noticed that after this update that when watching video on full screen that the image was much brighter more contrasty and sharper, so I fouterd (fiddled)about with the various nvidia menus to no avail. I eventually decided stuff this I'll just do a system restore and that should sort it. The only good bit was that my full screen mode was back to normal; but the first thing that happened was that when I went to type my password I couldn't type using the keyboard so I had to use the easy access on screen keyboard using my mouse. Even with windows up and running the keyboard simply won't function, in desperation I tried a couple more restore points and none them worked. I used the F8 KEY with keyboard to get into safe mode and this worked but as soon as the password is needed the keyboard does not work and even in safe mode it's not there.but the keyboard obviously functions since I can use it F8 mode; now the latest thing is that any system restore points fail.In F8 mode selection I notice that there is the option of Computer Repair but if I take this route does this mean that all my software will be removed?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm seeming randomly having a problem on my self-built desktop PC where my keyboard and mouse will freeze up, leaving the computer virtually inoperable. I also get strange hangs in the mouse that last a second or so, leading up to one big hang. There's no BSOD or anything like that.I have to hard reboot in order to do anything. All programs and services continue to run and there's no real warning. Games will continue to play like normal as will videos and music, I just can't alt/tab or Cntrl/Alt/Delete. There's no indication that the devices disconnected physically or otherwise. The LEDs on the keyboard stay lit, so it's not as if it loses power.I have tried unplugging and replugging, updating USB drivers, installing and subsequently uninstalling Logitech software, and physically cleaning the fan (Just to ensure heat wasn't a factor). I've ran virus checks from Avast and Malware Bytes that have come back clean. I've looked into the event viewer, but I'm not very proficient with it and I can't seem to find anything on it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 3 HP Multi-media keyboards. On my Vista system the programs for the multi-media keys are displayed in a grid in the Control Panel section Keyboard. In the Windows 7 Control panel Keyhoard the grid is there, but is blank and there seems to be no way to change any thing. It appears to me that the sytem wants to use default programs. This does not work for the Eudora email program that I still prefer and also does not give the flexibility that I prefer. For example I like to use one key to access the Character Map (C:Windowssystem32charmap.exe) and I don't find a method to do this in Windows 7
View 3 Replies View Relatedinstalled the R/C last night. When it finally was done installing doing an upgrade from 32-bit vista to windows 7, the final reset loads up and i cannot use either my mouse or keyboard. I have tried pluggng them into every usb slot i have, restarted with both plugged in and not plugged in.tried the 2 other mice and another keyboad. One being a microsoft keyboard that. The keyboard does work when choosing between the different loadup options, but still doesn't work in safemode. When i try to reinstall either Vista with my bootup cd or with the copy of windows xp i have, it starts the loadup , but keeps getting the blue screen before the install even starts.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been using a Vista Computer which came with a multimedia keyboard. The multimedia keys can be easily programmed in the Keyboard item in the Control Panel. This works very well and lets me choose Eudora for the email program and call up the Character Map with the Calculator multimedia Key. Apparently Microsoft thought it would be easier for users to just pick a default program for each multimedia key. This gives the user much much less flexibility and since users have many different interests, flexibility is a great thing to have. In Windows 7 the Control Panel Keyboard item does show a grid like Vista, but the cells in the grid are blank. As near as I have been able to determine, there is no way to use the grid in Windows 7. HP technical support people, both telephone and email, but have not come up with a solution. The problem is made even worse, because I can't make Eudora the default email program, because it doesn't fit the current method of picking defaults. My newest computer is aWindows 7 that came with a multimedia keyboard. I wonder, if there a an acceptable solution I am missing? There was a tile when Microsoft's support was really outstanding and included outstanding documentation.
View 9 Replies View RelatedShortly after installing the latest intellipoint drivers suggested by Windows 7 along with several other updates from windows update, my Microsoft Keyboard stopped working after windows boots up. The mouse works fine but the keyboard does not.The keyboard doesn't respond AFTER windows starts but works fine in BIOS. I can boot to safe mode using F8 but then the keyboard stops working once Windows prompts me to logon.I can even use the sleep mode button on an alternate keyboard (Logitech) I tried later just to debug the problem to put the computer to sleep but the keys to log on aren't responsive. The computer succesfully restarted a few times after installting the updates so it may not directly be related to the windows updates. Either way, it didn't happen on next bootup.
-I tried all my system restore points and that did not work,
-I tried the "on-screen" keyboard just to get past the logon, but it does not pop up. I can get it to pop up in another installation of windows 7 on the same computer.
- I tried the keyboard on a separate (new) installation of Windows 7 on the same computer and it does work fine, but that doesn't solve the problem. Also the "on-screen" keyboard works fine in the new installation.
-I've tried going into BIOS and setting num-lock boot to on (I don't know why but someone suggested this might work for a similar problem) but it didn't work for me.
- I've also tried a few BIOS options that look like they might make a difference like legacy USB 3.0 support but that did not work.
- different USB ports 2.0 or 3.0 for the receiver combo do not make a difference.
Also a clean re-install is not an option for me because the licenses used for Windows and MS Office won't allow another install.I can get to a dos prompt or access the non-working windows 7 drive and files with dual-boot, but I need to get back to access that installation. Is there a way to manually reinstall the drivers via DOS, the other partition, or some other solution that might work?

MS Office 2007 AVG Anti-Virus
I have a Microsoft Natural Wireless Keyboard and Mouse combo 7000.I have also tried a Logitech Y-RJ20 combo (Ps/2 keyboard, and USB mouse)
ASUS P867LE Motherboard with i7-2600k CPU.

Win 7 was freshly installed on my laptop on a brand new 160 gb hard drive. 1st fresh install was Win Home ver 7 32bit. After installing 32 bit , realizied I mistakenly installed Win 7 32 bit Home version. Product key revealed original software was Win 7 Pro 64bit. Keyboard problem did not occur with 32 bit version. Once I installed the Pro 64 bit version the keyboard was non responsive.
Keyboard worked fine with 32 bit install and unresponsive after 64 bit install. Touch pad works.
I carefully removed and installed brand new laptop keyboard. Same identical problem. Non responsive laptop keyboard. Suspect this is a software problem but unable to know which/what software driver may be compatible with 64bit Win 7Pro version.
I have the icon pinned to my taskbar, and normally the way I use it is I click on the icon in the taskbar when I want the osk to pop up so that I can use it. When I'm finished with it, I click on the minimize button and it returns to its spot in the status bar and stays there until I click on it again. Now, *normally* when I pass my mouse pointer over the icon, just a thumbnail of the osk will appear. But lately when my mouse pointer simply passes over the icon, the osk will pop up and appear on my screen in full size, and I need to minimize it to put it back onto the taskbar. This is very inconvenient because every time I bring my mouse pointer down to the status bar to choose an icon, I inadvertently pass over the osk icon with my mouse pointer which causes it to pop up.

I wanted to format my machine by booting from Windows 7 DVD. At that moment, my USB keyboard is not recognized and I wasnt able to press and character. As a workaround, I managed to plug a PS2 keyboard and it is recognized and worked fine!
What settings in the BIOS might be related to this issue?
right now I'm currently trying to find out whats wrong with a keyboard that is on a laptop, after the computer starts there are some script errors, I don't know exactly what they are but I ran combo fix without safe mode and restarted the scripts went away...and it started working after restarting a couple times it started to work then restarted more the scripts came back and the keyboard stopped, even in safe mode but after five or so minutes the keyboard was able to type again, I checked the device managers and everything is update and no error, I ran a combo fix and have the report if you guys want to see it let me know, Its an HP DV6 series with 64-bit windows 7 OS, I'm stumped I have no idea whats up, I'm ready to just put in the recovery disks and see whats up, but he has like 250 gigs worth of files Games etc, Can I back it up to a hard drive and install go back to where it was normally or can that be a problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 7 a few days ago, and it was working perfectly. Yesterday, my brother borrowed my PSP charger, and so I hooked it up to my computer to charge it. after connecting, it automatically went into USB mode, which I ignored as it'd resulted in no problems on xp/vista.However, after the drivers automatically installed, my keyboard and mouse stopped functioning, and my PSP disconnected from my computer (couldn't read). My keyboard and mouse work fine, and the motherboard can apparently detect them (at least the keyboard, since I can enter BIOS), and another computer can detect them without problems. When Windows 7 loads, though, the lights on both turn off, and neither is responsive (Have also tested this with other functioning mice (mouses?) and keyboards.)
