Turn On Wireless Without Keyboard?
Mar 26, 2011There is a new one on order.But to turn on my wireless I have to hold down the 'fn' key and also 'f2' as the keyboard is not working is there any other way of turning the wireless card on?

Sep 10, 2010It All started when my ipod was being stupid and got Bricked almost. So I went into Windows XP but switched to IDE storage Config. in the Bios Fixed it Rebooted Changed to AHCI which is what Windows 7 was Installed with So. Now When I go to Windows 7 NO Matter what Mode (Safe Mode) Keyboard and Mouse there Off they don't stay on after boot. I tried a PS2 Converter, Switched USB Ports, Put in a new Keyboard and Nothing. I re-copied the USB drivers from the DVD into System32/Drivers Still will not work..
Keyboard: Dell Multimedia USB with 2 USB Ports and Logitech V200 Wireless Mouse.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit.
Asus P6T
Core i7 930 2.8GHz LGA1366
OCZ Gold Series 2x2GB = 4GB DDR3-1333
Also I did Memory Test nothing was wrong. I have had this problem with XP before because it couldn't handle the System Hardware Change But I was able to easily repair it and It worked after. How Do I fix it with Windows 7?
Turn Off The Visual Feedback (flashing) On Screen Keyboard?
Jun 30, 2011I have started using an ASUS slate and find the Windows on-screen keyboard almost impossible to use because of the way the keys flash after you touch them (or even hover over them) - the fade delay is way too long resulting in a mass of flashing keys when typing with any sort of speed. I would have expected this to be a setting under the keyboard options or general personalization but no amount of digging or Google searching has turned anything up for me. Does anyone know how I can turn this off or at least reduce the fade delay time?

Jun 8, 2012my daughter pressed a couple of keys earlier and now my laptop keyboard isnt working properly. It is really strage because a few keys are working but not in thier usual function. My partner logged out so now i am sat at a login screen and cant key in a password. The on screen keyboard is behaving the same way which is very odd! Any suggestions? I have only had it 3 weeks and have had no problems it's been great. My mrs said she was trying to type in a website and windows kept popping up when she typed, and then she logged out.

I tried downloading it again with the wizard but it said it said the wizard was interrupted and try again when I do it does the same thing. i tried downloading it from the Windows site and after downloading the pop up said "You do not need to install this software because Windows Defender is included in Windows Vista (I have Windows 7) You can access Windows Defender from the security section of the Windows Control Panel". Apr 11, 2012Can a windows 7 computer turn on by its self connect to a wifi internet connection start itunes and go to a specific radio station play for a few hours and then turn off and be able to do it all again night after night?I have a friend and she just can�t get how to use a computer no matter how I try and teach her. She has a wifi connection and would like to listen to a specific radio station at night while she falls asleep. At present she listens to a station via itunes when I come to visit and I get the station for her.I wonder can a computer that is off be made to boot or does it have to be in hibernation or stand by to come on and where in windows 7 do I make the settings as to what time of day to come alive or on from being off. And I assume the same place is where I will have to put in settings to power off or go into stand by or hibernation. So first off is this possible?
I am a Mac guy so not sure but I think I already know where and how to tell it if a particular wifi is present to connect with it also if it loses the connection will it automatically reacquire that network?If the above is possible can I get itunes or Internet explorer or firerfox or other internet browser to startup and go and connect to a radio stations live feed via wifi without having to manually click on any button on the page?Is what I want to do very complicated and could be prone to hang or freeze and she would have to be computer savvy to get it all going again which like I said above she is not. Could she just hold down the laptops power button shut down and then repress to restart and it would come back on and all would be able to pick up where it left off?Do I approach this as have itunes always runningconnected to the station could the computer be made to go to standby or hibernation at a specific time and itunes would continue to run just not make noise so when it comes out of stand by or hibernation it will be on and connected streaming the radio stations music?
Why Can't Turn Windows Firewall On/Off
Jun 4, 2011After loading several AV programs/scanners due to trying to eliminate a virus, I wanted to confirm my Windows Firewall was turned on. When I went to Control Panel/Windows Firewall and clicked on "Turn Windows Firewall On or Off", all I saw in the "Customize settings for each type of network" window was the button "Use recommended settings" within a box called "Update your firewall settings". When I clicked on that button, nothing happened. Contrary to the picture shown in the Windows 7 Help pages, there was no option to actually turn the firewall on/off in this particular window. My intention is to simply verify the Windows Firewall is turned on after this virus happened.My questions are:1) Could an AV program/scanner program that I loaded have caused the Windows Firewall to be disabled (or replaced)? How do I know which AV programs have their own built-in firewall?2) Assuming my Windows Firewall should be turned on, how can I verify it really is turned on?

Jul 31, 2009I got a virus (winupgro.exe). Afterwards, that program showed up in my task manager, but I was unable to end the process. I also got a notification that I would need to restart my computer in order to turn off UAC. Since I did not want to turn off UAC, I went back in, and turned the UAC back on. I then ran a virus scan with Norton. It didnt seem to find my virus, so I just shut down the computer.Winupgro.exe no longer shows up in task manager, but I cannot turn on Windows Security Center - getting the dialog box "The Windows Security Center service can't be started".Malwarebytes was able to find and remove it, but I still cannot open windows security center (after a restart).I used FreeCommander to run create md5 checksums. After searching the output file, I did not find any references to winupgro or its checksum string.
