Windows 7 Blue Screen After Power Loss During Updates?

My computer was turned off during the update process and I am getting the blue screen. After launching the start-up repair I am told the problem cannot be solved although there is a patch preventing the system from starting. My registry files precede the date the problem occurred, I have tried to restore but there is no restore point, I cannot start in safe mode. I have launched bootrec.exe and ran FixMbrFixBoot and also RebuildBcd and none have worked. I know I will probably have to go the long way around and pull the data from my disc and do a clean install but just wondered if any of you Techsperts had a quicker fix so I can spend the rest of my life in awe at your magnificence?

I had a power loss while running on battery (it still showed power left, but suddenly shut down anyway) and when I restart, it reports that the Windows is not activated and Window is not genuine and system might be a victim of "counterfeiting."
Is this a virus (I have MSE on continuously and about once a week scan with Malwarebytes)? I have run 'sfc /scannow' with filtered output ('findstr /c: "[SR]" c:.....logsCBSCBS.log" and it appears as usual.
How can I lose my Windows activation?

So I keep getting the blue screen Power State Failure which I am sure you are all aware of. It's happening a lot to me, and it really needs to go away it's causing my computer to be incredibly slow.

I've installed my copy of Office XP (which works perfectly well for my purposes and I don't need any new features of later versions!), and Powerpoint 2002 runs very slowly re-drawing the screen. After selecting a "Slide design" from the view menu, it takes a two or three seconds to redraw the background if I switch between slides, type some text in a text box over the background, resize the window etc. (No delays when switching slides during a slide show though.)It works very fast on my old laptop running XP. My Windows 7 desktop computer is a Core Duo E7400 with a GTX260 graphics card (latest drivers installed) so should be about 10x faster than the laptop!

My computer wouldn't shut down, even with holding in the power button, and so I just let it run out the battery. Then it wont turn on. I tried holding down the power button to clear out any charge that might be remaining. I have managed to get it back on, but I have to make a connection at the clip where you plug the power button ribbon into the mobo. Also, this is the second time I have had to do this. The computer works fine afterwards...or seems to anyway.

Lately my PC has been weird, whenever i launch any game my computer just turns off but in a verry unusual way, The Screen goes black, the pc fans stop spinning, nothing is working, but my power button is still bright blue (showing that the pc is still on but its not), i press the button, nothing happens and if i un-plug the power cable, the power button stays on for about 10 seconds, then when i plug the power cable back in the pc turns on just normally like every time, but i still get crash if i launch a game, this is my pc Configuration: [code] This has been happening for a couple months now and its getting verry annoying, i'm thinking of buying a gaming PC but that costs 3,000 and i need a good working PC while i save up money.I have reinstalled Windows a few weeks after the problem accoured, it did not fix it. Today some maintenance personnel were working on my bathroom in my apartment. I stepped out to take care of some errands while they worked. I put my computer into sleep mode (NOT hibernation - Actually sleep mode). When I got home, I realized that all of the clocks were flashing "12:00" and my computer was powered off.When I talked to the maintenance crew, they said that they had encountered a problem in the bathroom and caused a short. This, in turn, tripped the breaker that my computer room was on, which they then reset. This means that my computer, at minimum, experienced a hard power loss while running. It may or may not have experienced a surge (!), though it is on a surge protector. And the surge protector did not have its safety lights lit to indicate a surge.
Unfortunately, since using the computer I'm noticing a lot of oddities. I played some TF2 to unwind, and for the first time ever it crashed. My Video Card got stuck in "uplocked/3D" mode. Web browsing was slower than I'm used to, and overall it seemed like the computer picked up a lot of 'chugging' where it hadn't before.Is there some method to diagnose the general health and well being of my computer in windows? Are there tools beyond CHKDSK that I can run to locate problems that may have occurred as a result of a power surge? I'm concerned that the power loss damaged my components significantly, and I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem or determine if it's all in my head.

I had issues with my computer displaying symptoms of a faulty PSU. I was shutting down instantly whenever I ran intensive games for too long.Soon after those issues went away, I started getting random freezes, crashes, and BSODs. I finally tracked this down to a bad version of firmware on my SSD, and upgraded it by upgrading the firmware version, doing a 'secure erase', or something along those lines, as OCZ calls it, then installing a brand new copy of Windows 7.Everything went fine for a little bit. It's been 1-2 weeks or so since I upgraded the firmware.Over the past few days, I have noticed random ... near-shutdowns. Basically, my monitor was off, and my computer was unresponsive - but the lights and fans and what-not were on.I thought something tried to shut down my computer or something, and didn't think much of it. Maybe a weird Windows Update, iunno.Note: The hard reboot function on my computer (a tiny button near my power button) that usually works without issue does not work when this happens. My computer still has power, but it seems like it just... died. No monitor connection. No response whatsoever.A simple holding down of the power button and then pressing it again when it turns off seems to work, although the power up from that point takes a bit longer than normal.
Today, I have seen this first-hand 2 times. Just today. I was doing something, the sound started skipping - at which point my monitor disconnected, although for a few seconds after, I could still hear the guy I was talking to on Skype, and he could hear me. A few seconds and the sound dies down, and my comp is completely gone. Power still running as I already mentioned.Do note that this has happened both when I was running an intensive game and when I wasn't running much of anything - certainly nothing intensive.
I've already replaced my PSU, upgraded my SSD firmware, and reformatted my main HD (not data drive) and reinstalled Windows. I ran memtest a little while ago and it ran w/o issues, 2 passes, 0 fails.FYI, I've checked temperatures. My computer is not at all overheating.S This has been going on for months. I use this computer for gaming, programming, and work.
Edit: My computer just "died" again - for the third or fourth time today. I'd like to note that for 2-3 seconds right after this happens (i.e. right when my monitor goes dark and my computer stops being responsive), my fans get very loud - much louder then they normally would. After this, my fans go back to the normal volume level that they are usually at.The only thing notable in my Windows Event Viewer is that there was a generic, unexpected loss of power. I had a power loss while installing a windows update about two months ago. Ever since then my system will hang either on logging off or shutting down.I have tried making a new user (No Help)it hangs in safe mode also.I also do not have a list of prior updates in control panel since this problem.The system works fine other than that.

I just recently had to reinstall windows on my computer with an installation CD after my recovery partition had become corrupted. Anyways, after restoring Windows7, the computer was running fine and seemed to have no problems what so ever. I than downloaded all my usual software before updating, such as Firefox, Malwarebytes, Rkill, Avira and Spybot. No problems what soever downloading and installing all of those. However going to do windows updates that the computer now thinks it is a year or two behind on it blue screens when it begins installing them. I tried rebooting in safemode with networking to try and download the updates and they downloaded and installed with no problem except for the few that required to restart the computer, upon restarting the computer it makes it to 30% installing updates and blue screens again and restarts me to system restore and I have to restore to before installing the updates and I am right back to square one. I know this isn't exactly a virus question as I doubt Microsoft is realizing viruses in their updates, but I am shooting my luck as every tech has suggested I just reinstall windows which would make this the 4th Win7 installation on this computer, so naturally I am beginning to think installing windows 7 isn't my problem here. I recently have been getting blue shutdown screens on my laptop. I will give you plenty of information about my computer. I put all the information about the Blue screen dump files and my System Information file in an attachment. I hope this helps. I recently found out you could save the System Information file as a text and also as an .exe. This is how it happens, I will be using my computer and then the computer will become very slow and unresponsive. It is not completely unresponsive but it will be so slow that I cannot use it, then after about 3 minutes of this slow unresponsiveness the blue screen will show up and say driver power state failure and shutdown. I recently formatted the computer because it had been doing this before so I restored it back to factory defaults about one month ago.

Replaced my VGA cable with and HDMI cable because screen wouldn't leave power save mode due to lack of communication between tower and screen. HDMI solves that. Now I have no internet connection. No signs of life. Cable guy comes over plugs his laptop into the..box thing where the internet comes from... says the internet is working fine must be your computer and he leaves. So now that my screen is working I can trouble shoot - can't find a network adapter. I have no idea what that means, and it is not listed anywhere on my control panel list of drivers and things. Tried to reinstall whatever that is.. which is hard when your just guessing and clicking things. Bottom line is after using the drivers and devices disc and reinstalling everything that said "network" in the title there is still no signs of life. I don't have wireless so the whole adapter thing isn't making sense either.

one day it suddenly crashed while i was watching a movie. it displayed random patterns on screen. kinda like part of the image from the video is on the screen then a black strip and random colors. I restarted the unit to safe mode and left it on and browsed the net and downloaded some big files for how many hours and nothing happened.. there are also times when windows is still loading with the windows logo on screen, it crashes. there are also times when the login screen is displayed and it crashes. it just crashes randomly! so i tried to reformat it. i deleted the partitions and created a new one, formatted it then fresh installed windows 7 ( my previous OS is windows 7 by the way) and started installing the basic drivers and after a few hours, it crashed again...thinking that the driver installed might not be compatible, i tried another fresh install of windows (same execution, delete partition, create, install OS) and this time, without installing the drivers, it crashed again after a few hours... sometimes it crashes immediately after turning it on from cold start!

Blue screen and freezing. This is happening frequently but never has any regularity to it. Sometimes happens after a couple of days and sometimes after a couple of minutes. Also sometimes with only one browser window open and sometimes with 15 or more. Happens with both chrome and firefox. Has not happened with other programs as this lapy only gets used for surfing/email/forums etc. Sometimes happens while the computer is sitting idle right after boot. Very strange.

For the past day windows wants to install the same 4 updates over and over, I have windows update set to download and let me choose when to install.
I can't understand why I even need them, as I uninstalled net framework. Notice how the update at 8:17 AM., KB2656368, is the same as one of the 4 updates installed at 7:47 PM. Windows wants to install the same four kb files again.How do I stop this?

I was playing a video game earlier today and received a blue screen. When the computer restarted it got stuck on the windows splash screen. I have tried just about everything I can think of to try to fix the computer. I changed out graphic card, ram, power supply for different ones but no luck. Also tried booting to last known working setup. Even restored factory image and still no luck. The computer will not boot to any form of safe mode. I also have ran start up repair numerous times but comes up empty handed.

i bought this PC 2 years ago, i experienced a bluescreen now and then but at this time i didnt really care to look into it, as i didnt know much about PC`s Anyways, since about 2 months i bluescreen almost every second day.99% of the time i bluescreen while playing a game. (Such as TF2).I can tell when i am about to bluescreen, the sound starts to "crackle", with every third crackle i experience a little bit of a short lag (i would even say, its like a really short freezing but only just a milisecond). I ran Memtest and Checkdisk, Harddrive and Memory seem to be fine.My PC is free from malware.I started to read the minidumps out:They always show 2 or 3 different drivers causing the lag.One of them is ALWAYS ntkrnlpa.exe. The other drivers usually differ.Some driver that often shows up too is halmacpi.dll.

Out of the blue this morning my comp wont start up, W7 blue screens before the login screen appears and instantly reboots. No new hardware has been added. Here is what I have tried.
Change graphics card.
Change RAM.
Memory diagnostic.
System repair.
Safe mode (works).
LKGC.
Uninstall AVS video converter (only new software installed yesterday).
Uninstall Daemon Tools.
System repair from Windows DVD (fails - incompatible version).
All I'm left with is a format and reinstall if I cant solve this - safe mode works fine so it must be fixable!

I just purchased a new motherboard, processor, RAM, and power supply for my Desktop. I have been trying to boot the computer using my hard drive from my old setup which had Windows 7 on it. Whenever the computer boots it goes from the bios screen to the Windows Boot page with the logo but then it goes straight to a Blue Screen. When the Blue Screen comes up it only flashes for a tenth of a second and then restarts so I can not read it. The same thing happens when I try to boot the computer in safe mode.
