Currently my sidebar not working properly. I can choose the gadgets that I want but when I drag it to desktop it doesn't show correctly . I restarted my PC many times and it still not working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a M1530 on the cheap a few months and installed Win 7 x64 with a lot of research primarily from here. Everything worked perfect. The drive is a Teac DVW28SLC. It's a slot load and the only eject button is with volume and DVD controls above the keyboard. I needed to burn something to DVD. I decided to try Imgburn for the software.Installed it, popped a fresh DVD-R in. DVD drive recognized the blank. I usually reboot a computer before burning, realized I didn't so I rebooted. Now, the drive no longer works.
After the reboot:
-Drive is visible to bios.
-Drive cycles on boot up, checking for a disc.
-Drive is not visible in explorer
-Drive is not visible to diskmgmt.msc
-Drive is visible, not disabled and properly installed in the device manager.
-Card reader also seems to not be visible either but is showing up in device manager.
-Disc will not eject from keyboard button.
Things I've tried to fix it:
-Several reboots.
-Uninstall Imgburn.
-Uninstall Daemon Tools Lite.
-Uninstall Drive in Device Manager, then reboot.
-Uninstall Drive and ATA controllers then reboot.
-Delete upper and lower filers at HKLMSYSTEMCurrentCOntrol SetControlClass{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, no entries were present.
-Reinstall chipset drivers, though I don't think Intel installer changed or installed anything.
-Fixit does not work.

my wireless net is not working even though the icon and the properties say "connected" when i disable the net and restart, it starts working for 1 few mins, and works without interruption in safe mode with networking, i have windows 7 professional on my laptop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I stick a DVD (game/movie) into the drive it comes up with an autoplay box with 1 option, to open the folder to view files. In Explorer the DVD shows up just as a generic DVD - basically as if it were just a blank disc for burning. If I 'explore' the disc there are no playable files, just an empty folder and a notepad document. I can't play the DVD in WMP, or any other player and can't start a game from the disc. This happened once before after burning a CD, the system just wouldn't recognise DVDs. It sorted itself out pretty quickly last time, this time, again after burning a CD, I can't get it to work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter getting Windows 7 x64 installed, I was having a problem getting the Pandora Gadget to work. It turns out this gadget uses Flash, which only comes in a 32 bit version. The Sidebar is x64, and can't access Flash. I came up with a quick and dirty way to load the 32 bit sidebar instead which allows flash to work! I know there are several gadgets out there that use flash so this should be a fix for all of them.
Edit the following Registry Key:
HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRunSideBar
Change the key to this: C:Program Files (x86)Windows Sidebarsidebar.exe /autoRun
(The only addition is loading sidebar.exe from c:program files (x86) instead of c:program files)
This should get you by until Adobe gets their act together!
I always wanted to revert Seven back to Beta visuals, i already have the Fish wallpaper, and know apps to change the logon screen, but i discovered something that i can't figure out how to change it. It pops out if you point the mouse to the left of the screen where it is located. I just got my pc back from repair, so i'm starting over. I've tried the restore desktop gadgets installed by windows and got the message "There were no Windows or administrator gadgets to restore". I've tried deleting zones in regedit, turning the windows gadget platform off and on etc, re-registering the dll files using- regsvr32 msxml3.dll regsvr32 scrrun.dll regsvr32 jscript.dll.

On my desktop and quick start bar the icon for MS Word is only showing a generic picture. The shortcut is working. All the rest of the MS Office shortcuts have the right icon pictures.I'm running Win 7 Home edition and MS office 2010.

I made another toolbar, and placed it directly adjacent to the Programs toolbar, to obscure the eight folders and force it to be a dropdown menu.Trouble is, as soon as I lock my taskbar, right next to the arrow that displays the eight items of my Programs toolbar in menu-form, one of the eight items is showing up as an icon, as if the other toolbar isn't close enough to the Programs toolbar in order to completely obscure the eight items.

If I'm installing a game on my PC and I want to select a different location to install other than the default, I click browse (of course), and the window pops up for me to select a new location. However the sidebar (which should usually contain a list of the drives and folders of my PC for quick navigation and selection) is completely blank. This makes it incredibly frustrating trying select a location. It means I have to know exactly where I want to put the game before I load up the installer so that I can type in the location in the address bar at the bottom of the window. This also happens when I try to save a document through Microsoft Word and in fact, opening or saving any other type of file through any other type of program.
