View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter getting Windows 7 x64 installed, I was having a problem getting the Pandora Gadget to work. It turns out this gadget uses Flash, which only comes in a 32 bit version. The Sidebar is x64, and can't access Flash. I came up with a quick and dirty way to load the 32 bit sidebar instead which allows flash to work! I know there are several gadgets out there that use flash so this should be a fix for all of them.
Edit the following Registry Key:
HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRunSideBar
Change the key to this: C:Program Files (x86)Windows Sidebarsidebar.exe /autoRun
(The only addition is loading sidebar.exe from c:program files (x86) instead of c:program files)
This should get you by until Adobe gets their act together!
I always wanted to revert Seven back to Beta visuals, i already have the Fish wallpaper, and know apps to change the logon screen, but i discovered something that i can't figure out how to change it. That's the Explorer's sidebar on the left side which was blue back then and not silver like in the RTM.

It pops out if you point the mouse to the left of the screen where it is located. I just got my pc back from repair, so i'm starting over. The amazing part is I disabled it the first time when I got my laptop, but I can't remember how I did it. I have been going crazy trying to find answers. Usually I save any research tracks in finding answers, but couldn't find where I wrote it down the first time.

I've been looking everywhere for this but with no result. Does anyone know of a sidebar widget for Windows 7 that can play and loop through videos in a folder? I'm looking for something exactly like the Photo Frame widget, but for videos instead of pictures. There's already a TV widget for live streaming, but I want something that loops through videos in a folder instead.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy copy of Windows 7 (Ultimate, 64bit), has begun to do something very weird and annoying recently. If I'm installing a game on my PC and I want to select a different location to install other than the default, I click browse (of course), and the window pops up for me to select a new location. However the sidebar (which should usually contain a list of the drives and folders of my PC for quick navigation and selection) is completely blank. This makes it incredibly frustrating trying select a location. It means I have to know exactly where I want to put the game before I load up the installer so that I can type in the location in the address bar at the bottom of the window. This also happens when I try to save a document through Microsoft Word and in fact, opening or saving any other type of file through any other type of program. All this means, that, I need to type the location of whatever I'm trying to open or save, which can take a very.

Something happened and now the system just boots to Winodows 7 without giving me the choice to boot to either. When I use F6 I find that only Windows 7 is listed in the Operating Systems box.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNew laptop has Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I have two business programs that won't run on a 64bit system. Partitioned the hard drive to install Vista Home Premium 32bit to create a dual boot system solely to run these two programs. Can't get Vista to load. Followed tutorial meticulously. All goes fine until the "Vista will boot for the first time" step. After this first boot, the screen returns to the "completing installation" page. However, the process dies here and the progress bar across the bottom of the screen never moves, even after an hour. Reformatted the partition and started over with same results. Multiple attempts always die after the first boot.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had recently installed windows 7 on my laptop running windows vista. I did not remove the existing windows vista installation, and thus win 7 was installed in a dual boot combination. Now, i want to remove vista from my laptop and use windows 7 only. The problem is that during installation, win 7 was installed on logical drive and windows vista was on the primary drive. Thus, i cannot delete/format the windows vista partition. Also I cannot transfer the boot drive to the partition containing win 7 because the vista partition is the active one.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a legitimate copy of Windows Vista with key codes etc and I have a legitimate upgrade disk for Windows 7. I had Windows 7 installed on a previous system build which had a HD crash and now I am starting again from scratch (wiyh backed up data).
Like a dolt, I installed Wondows 7 before I remembered it was an upgrade edition. I've looked all over the MS site and don't see a method I can use to Activate Windows 7 from this point. way to use my legitimate Windows disks and keys without having to wipe the drive, install Vista and then install Windows 7 yet again.
It's aggravating to have legitimate software and not be able to use it without needing to trick the system - surely there is a way to not have to start all over?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWill Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium w/SP1 64-bit-System Builder License and Media - 1 PC take me from Vista 32 to Win 7 64?
With so many Win 7 products, upgrades its confusing. I onyl need to take 1 computer from vista 32 to Win 7 64. I'm trying to not buy the wrong item and waste $90.00.
I am trying to go from 32 bit Vista to 64 bit Windows 7.
The 32 bit Vista was installed by mistake. My system can handle a 64 bit OS. Now I have finally found the time to upgrade. But the 64 bit intallation DVD can't be read from my OS.
I have tried setting up my CMOS so that I can boot from the DVD but I have run into some issues. First of all, when I look at my keyboard during the boot procedure, I noticed that the little light which indicates that one row of buttons are to be used for F1 - F12 keys, the little green led light goes on and off. Sometimes, during the boot process, it is on, sometimes it is off.
The CMOS procedure tells me I can hit F12 and set the boot order. I can hit F12 but when I go into that menu, I notice my keyboard is dead. The CPU does not accept any commands from me. So I need to power off and power on and try again.
The CMOS procedure tells me I can hit DEL and that launches the whole CMOS utility. There I can set the boot order so that the DVD is run first. But when I save and exit, I notice my keyboard is dead again. This time, the screen is showing things being set and loaded and I am prompted to hit any key to show I am sure that I want to boot from the DVD. I hit the Y key and I hit the spacebar, but it becomes clear that my input is ignored since my keyboard is being ignored. And the ol' Vista OS is loaded.
Is there any way to set things up in the VISTA OS to force a boot from the DVD? I guess I can load the OS in save mode and format the C drive, but if I do that I might risk having a dead computer since the CMOS does not seem to be trusting enough to boot from the DVD drive even if you tell it to.
