Windows 7 Professional Install With Intel Smart Response?

Oct 19, 2012

I am trying to do a clean install of Win 7 Pro on a new Dell XPS. My laptop came with a 32gb mSATA drive and I want to keep the Intel Smart Reponse activated. Whenever I try to do a clean install with the SATA operation set to "Intel Smart Reponse" in the BIOS, it does not find any disks to install the software too. When I try to load a driver for the drivers, it says no signed drivers were found. I was able to install the Win 7 Pro with the sata operation set to AHCI, but that won't let me enable smart response.

Windows 7 Professional Clean Install On SDD?

Mar 24, 2011

I have a new Hp Elitebook 8540p which has had a clean SSD. I am going to install windows 7 Professional and had a few questions about partitions and drivers etc.The first is whether I should partition the SSD for the Win 7 install and then use a second partition for data. Is there any benefit with this on an SSD?I reckon that Win 7 will probably get itself sorted with all the drivers that it needs and HP Update will clear up the ones that it doesnt.

Windows 7 Professional Install Failure

May 25, 2012

I have just received an alienware m17x, and for my school network we need windows 7 pro installed. I used my action pack dvd and tried upgrading. It failed. I then wiped my main drive my booting into the dvd, and fresh re installing windows. I've done this multiple times, and everytime it comes up saying it needs to restart, then upon restart says 'completing installation' -

but then it comes up saying 'windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer's hardware' then restarts and says 'windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation' - then restarts, shows me a boot option of four windows 7's and a windows setup rewind or mething, then shows the windows could not complete message again.

Possible To Install Windows 7 Professional Upgrade From Boot?

Apr 15, 2012

My toshiba c650 laptop recently acquired a virus and now it will not boot. I was running windows 7 home premium 64bit at the time with ubuntu 11.10( I think) my computer crashed while I was running a mcafee scan and has not booted since ubuntu also does not boot due to the windows 7 system failure. Any way I was wondering if I bought a windows professional 64bit upgrade, could I Install it from boot? I also need to know if it would wipe all virus's from the hard drive. It would be best to mention that I have tried safe mode, safe mode with networking, my recovery discs and a blue screen repair discs all that happens when running these is a black screen with white cursor I left them all for an hour to see if anything happens but sadly nothing does.

Windows 7 Freezing Slow Response

Aug 9, 2011

My lap top is only 2 month old, I have kept it in great condition, not downloading tons or random movie and music files. It has been running perfectly. It is a Windows 7 HP Probook 4530s.Today my friend and I were downloading Java to play minecraft. The download went ok, and I proceed to boot up the minecraft program. When the program loaded the computer began lagging horribly. I quickly ended the program and attempted to restart it, the program ran with the same horrible lag.So I ended the program, but my computer was still lagging, all programs I attempted to run took for ever to start up, and when they did they froze. I restarted the laptop and after all the programs started up, I attempted to run Firefox, and it loaded, then froze, as did all other programs, I had to force the computer off. I spent the rest of the day cleaning up the computer, deleting old program files, music, I ran multiply disk clean ups, and attempted to defrag the hard drive. But these programs all froze.I restarted and ran in Safe Mode, and it worked fine, all the programs loaded and nothing froze. Me and my friend worked on it all day, finally we found out that the Minecraft program had installed wrong, or something like that, THe program files were installed in the wrong place. We deleted those file and restarted the computer. It started up, and All programs functioned for a while, and the lag was gone, it all ran smoothly, then maybe two minutes later everything freezes.

Windows Clicking Does Not Giving Any Response

Sep 2, 2010

The main reason I joined is because my windows 7 has a serious clicking problem. I drew the line when I tried to open "advanced network sharing settings" from the control panel. I clicked and clicked but it wouldn't open. This same problem occurs with lots of other functions with the control panel and the OS in general. I am an administrator and I can assure you it is NOT a hardware problem.

MS Office 2007 Professional Will Not Install

Feb 2, 2011

MS Office 2007 Professional will not install on my freshly-reinstalled Windows 7 system. It does not get past the splash screen 'Setup is preparing the necessary files', but hangs. The summary error message in Event Viewer is as follows:The device, DeviceCDRom0, has a bad block.

The detail is:

+ System
- Provider
[ Name] cdrom
- EventID 7
[ Qualifiers] 49156

[code].....

There does not seem to be a problem either with the DVD drive or with the actual installation discs; the program installed happily on my other Wiindows XP PC, and the DVD drive seems to be able to read other installation discs satisfactorily.

Install Home Premium On Laptop And Professional On Pc

Dec 28, 2009

I have a little while ago build up my pc,

and bought a new system development package of win. vista home premium 64 bit.

with in my foresight i had the new 7 totally for free.

Then i got my win 7 home premium, formatted my system and installed the upgrade just fine as a clean installation.

[WiFi] Windows Did Not Receive Any Response From The Wireless Router

Jun 19, 2012

I have a D-Link DIR615 router which I've been using for the past 5 months (no problems whatsoever). After i've got my laptop from the support service I can't seem to successfully connect to my home network.

My phone can connect with no problem to my router. My laptop sees other wireless networks. This is how it goes: when I try to connect it immediately says "unable to connect" when I run the diagnostics I get the "windows did not receive any response from the wireless router" message. I can only connect after like 30 mins of changing the wireless settings (usually SSID and security) from my router + rebooting it countless times. Even then, I usually check "automatically connect" and the next day after I arrive from work, it doesn't really connect automatically and can't even connect to it (unable to connect message). Even typing a wrong passphrase when it's secured it doesn't say "wrong passphrase" but "unable to connect".

Another very wierd thing is that my wireless network disappears from the network list after a few minutes, I still see other secured wireless networks.

I can connect to a wireless network made by phone (wifi hotspot) with no problems.

Unable To Install Windows 7 Professional Or Windows XP

Feb 27, 2012

I am coming across a problem with installing Windows on my new build. I am unable to install Windows 7 or XP on my new build. I own a Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Disc and the XP Disc is from my old PC. After choosing to boot from my optical drive, I receive a Windows Boot Manager scree that tells me that Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.

Status: 0xc00000e9

I have tried the following:

► Rebooting my PC and only having my SSD connected to my MB (no beeps)
► Rebooting my PC and only having my HDD connected to my MB (no beeps)
► Trying both of my HDDs connected to my MB (no beeps)
► Having both of my HDDs disconnected. (no beeps)
► Trying to install Windows XP, but I received a similar error (no beeps)
► Changed the SATA mode in my BIOS from ACHI to IDE - (my pc then made loud, rapid, and continuous beeps)

Do I have to send my drives back for an RMA or is my MB bad? Everything is powering on, but I do not know what the problem is. ould it be my SATA 6GB/s cables?

Build:

 Motherboard: ASUS P8 Z68-V/Gen 3
 Processor: Intel i5 2500k
