Boot Configuration Is Corrupt 0x460 At Starting Windows 7 Screen?
Oct 12, 2012Before doing anything what i did was to write zeros on the HDD because i wanted to format completely the hard drive and get rid of any virus infecting the HDD.The problem is not on my DVD, i have used it in the past to fix/format many computers and also tried running the setup from another CD of windows 7 and also a Windows XP one but it freeze on the same point.It looks like this.So if it is not a DVD problem, what could cause it, how do i fix it.The Computer has no OS installed since i wrote zeros on the HDD (FULL DATA ERASE) When i try to do this clean install thing it just freezes on this point after loading the necessary setup files.I tried changing the BOOT SEQUENCE to 1-> CD, 2-> HDD, 3-> Other Removable Devices.I tried disabling the FLOPPY DISK from the Boot Sequence and CMOS (seen this in another thread).I tried other DVD's, not working,

Jan 5, 2013my laptop will not load up. I can get it to the screen where it says repair computer, safe mode and all that. (advance boot options) but anytime I click any off them it goes to a screen where it says I need to put in the windows installer disk. I do not have any disk but I downloaded the repair disc from my other laptop. I put the disk in the computer and restart it and it just goes back to same screen. It does not automatic rebot, or ask me to rebot from disk.

Nov 5, 2011On my wife's laptop (i3 350 cpu) running Windows 7HP (Sp1 - UK ver.) The second hand on the gadget clock jerks around. It jumps between about 5 and 10 seconds at a time. I have run Norton & Malwarebytes' scans; replaced gadget settings; reloaded the clock; etc. but all to no avail. The whole process of adding and adjusting Gadgets appears to take longer than it should. At one stage gadgets were using the whole of one core! It appears that something in the background is slowing the gadgets up. I have gone into the Control Panel "Date & Time" and the second hand on the clock there works perfectly.

Oct 7, 2012When I turn on the screen of my PC I get weird shapes all over the screen. Some of them are coloured, some are grey but they appear on all programmes, including a Word blank page and the desktop page. Some of them flash, some of them change shape, ut they are all pixel shaped within the boxes. There are also some strange 'squiggly' marks on the screen. When I opened Windows mail, the left hand side of the screen was completely black and it didn't show any of my messages. As I'm typing this message, I've got grey boxes which change shape as I type and it's covering some of the text.

I have no password or user names.I cannot boot in safe mode or in safe mode with command prompt without encountering a logon screen.I have downloaded Password Unlocker and whilst this allows me to change passwords and add users I still get the same logon screen and none of my new user names or changed passwords help.I have no disks so cant do a reinstall.

Aug 3, 2009I've searched around for several weeks for a solution to this problem and have not yet found a solution that works for me...
I am running Windows 7 RC (Build 7100) on an extremely capable PC, but now, every time I start the machine up I get a completely black screen with cursor, and in the bottom right hand corner is the watermark,
"Windows 7100
This copy of Windows is not genuine."
I believe I know what caused this. When I first got the RC, I downloaded one of those patches that removes the watermark (Yes, I know I was stupid and shouldn't have ) and for awhile, everything worked fine. Then I found the above watermark sitting regularly on my desktop, as well as some "This copy of windows not genuine" Pop-ups from MS, so I clicked on resolve, and the MS website just said something to the tune of "This Windows OS is not yet supported" or something like that.
So I didn't pursue the problem any further. Now, every once in a blue moon it will let me access the desktop. When it does, everything is extremely slow, I can't use command prompt, and when I open control panel to look at my CD Key or to check that it is activated, in the spot where my CD Key should be, instead there is just this: ---
Sooo, I need to know how to re-activate Windows so I can actually use the computer again. Also, I can give any information you guys need. I really hope I can get this resolved soon, it has just been such a hassle.
WMP 12 Library - File Type In Lower Right Hand Corner On Album Art
Jul 7, 2012I have in my WPM 12 library where if an album has songs with two different file types they get there own album with the file type on the icon (for example I have Circus Animals by Cold Chisel shown twice one being m4a file type and the other mp3 file type). I have before fixed it so the file type is removed and all songs go in the one album but have forgotten how to do. How to change it?

Nov 15, 2012I'm having trouble with my very new computer (Lenovo Y480 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit), which I've narrowed down to the following sequence:
1. I restored computer to original factory settings (to rule out possible causes)
2. I ran msconfig, and checked the boxes 'Safe Mode' and 'Networking.' I got the following error message:"System configuration cannot save the original boot configuration for later restoration. Boot changes will be reverted. The system cannot find the file specified"
3. The default boot option disappeared from the boot menu (Windows 7, default OS, current OS).
4. When I restarted my computer, it would not boot and gave me the error 0xc00034, stating that the file BootBCD was missing.
I did not do anything else with my computer after restoring the factory settings, and I did not connect to the internet. I originally encountered the problem when I wanted to try installing Windows updates in safe mode after some of the installations failed. I have replicated the error several times, including after successfully installing all Windows updates.

Dec 6, 2011I put the XP disk in to have a look at the partitions before deleting them, but found the partition screen was confusing. My query is as follows:
2)There are 2 HDDs in the PC. When I got the PC, it had one Seagate HDD - W7 appeared in Windows on the C: drive and I placed applications there. Immediately afterwards I added a 2nd Hitachi HDD to hold data only, creating a single volume on it called G: data drive. This all seemed to be working fine until this current problem.
3) So, I thought I would see a C: �system� partition, or maybe a 100MB �system reserve� C: and another lettered part of that partition, and the G: partition/volume for data files (on the second HDD). However, what I saw on the partition screen via the XP installation disk was this:
476938 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR] D: Partition1 (System Rese) [NTFS] 100 MB ( 75 MB free)

The Hitachi HDD at channel 1 is the 2nd HDD, added by me after delivery to hold data files only, so I expected to see it below the Seagate HDD on this list.
5) Also, the Hitachi HDD was top of the Hard Disk Priority list on the BIOS Advanced screen. Again I would have expected to see the Seagate above the Hitachi in that list.
Wireless Zero Configuration On Windows 7?
Jan 25, 2011In XP, if one is playing something over the network on a wireless connection, there are usually (always?) little dropouts every so often caused by Wireless Zero Configuration service. So once its connected, simply disabling the service causes those dropouts to go away and playback is smooth and steady.Well, in Windows 7 I have those same dropouts over wireless but, no Wireless Zero Configuration service to disable. So what is the equivalent or what needs to be done to make it quite checking the connection so that playback will be as smooth as it is with XP?I've tried disabling a couple of sevices that were associated to wireless (WLAN Autoconfig) but so far I've only managed to completely bonk the connection.

Apr 27, 2011I am having an issue with my windows configuration as usual when a Windows update comes along I click shut down and it updates and then once I power back on I get to the Welcome screen and it configures the new updates. Well right now I am having trouble because I run the update and then once I turn it back on the configuration stays at 0% and I have to power down and enter in Safe Mode so it reverts back to it's former updates. I don't want to have to go through this endless cycle forever is there anyway I can find out what these updates are? It is 4 of them and if I can find out what they are is there a way I can manually install each one individually to avoid this configuration freeze?

Jun 10, 2012I have Win 7 Ultimate. I recently bought a usb turbotenna to catch wifi. It worked fine with the Ralink software. Ralink worked in conjunction with wzc as I set it up that way while installing the software. After a few days, I had what I thought was trouble so I uninstalled the Ralink software. I then plugged in the usb adapter and let windows load it's own drivers. Few days after that, I reinstalled the Ralink software and opted to "Use wzc as configuration utility" instead of using Ralink's. Ever since then, while I can still see and log on to networks using windows, the Ralink utility now shows NO networks. It now shows, "NIC or driver not ready". After several uninstall/reinstall, Windows will not relinquish it's primary control. I want to go back to Ralink showing networks and letting me connect through it's site survey.
Would uninstalling the Broadcom wireless connection be the solution? How do I get it to once again be secondary?
