Will A 32 Bit Key Work On A 64bit Version ?
Oct 27, 2009I got a copy of Windows 7 32 bit yesterday and didn't realize it wasn't a 64 bit. took it home opened it, installed it.. damn. now what im wondering is if i download a windows 7 64 bit .ISO can i use my 32 bit registration key on the 64 bit version? please someone let me know.

I have tried every suggestion posted, including the command "shellhwdetection", as well as configuring it in the control panel, and nothing works. The USB drive does work, though. In addition, if I insert a disc in the internal drive and then click on the drive in windows explorer, it ejects the disc, so I can't even see what's on a disc.

CURRENT OPERATING SYSTEM - Windows XP 64 bit
The problem with the above configuration is that when I try to install Windows 7, the machine freezes (hangs) randomly, I have tried formatting and installing for at-least 4-5 times now but what happens is the setup doesn't work and stops during installation, last time the setup was successful but it hangs the workstation without any reason. I have also tried installing the same CD on other system and it works fine.
