Highest Resolution Was 1366x768 Now 1024x768
Dec 9, 2011Today I purchased a new laptop for school. Upon starting it up i was prompted to update my drivers then to restart my computer. So I did. Now my resolution has changed from the highest being 1366x768 (I believe it was 768) to 1024x768. It wont let me go any higher and everything looks sort of stretched out. It's an ASUS model: X53U

Jan 29, 2012So the laptop in question is a 15,9" ASUS K53SV (I think, not 100% on the exact numbers/lettering) with an i7 2630, with integrated graphics chip AND a Geforce 540m. I suspect that the reason why I cannot increase my desktop resolution further is because that integrated chip insists on running instead of the dedicated GPU. Through Nvidea's control panel I have set the 540 to the preffered card, but this only seems to be applied on applications. I think I confirmed that by accessing advanced settings through the screen resolution menu, which clearly lists that integrated chip and not the 540.I also think it is questionable that my actual screen would not be able to support anything higher, since my 3 year old mid-range 15,9" HP laptop seemed to have no problem at all reaching 1680.

Nov 14, 2012I've tried 3 different installation setups but none work.The problem is after running the autorun file and entering the keygen code and accepting the terms and conditions it shows a window saying that directx 9.0c is required and that its not found in the system. But i have directx 11 installed already. (checked using dxdiag from start menu) also to be clear i've also run the directx setup file that comes with the installation package. It installs successfully but then again the same message. My laptop is a recently purchasesd sony vaio core i5 processor, windows 7(64-bit), 4GB RAM and 2GB Amd Radeon 7650 series graphic chip.When i go to technical support on the installation window, it shows that my OS is unknown and under the result it is displayed as fail and so is my display memory. Sep 23, 2012Now, just 3 days ago It started the BSOD issue.I realize that my GPU was the cause of this issue. When playing games or open 3d applications the temp goes 30C to 72C (In 15 seconds) then 82C - 85C constant (in about 30 seconds).Now I've been using MSI afterburner to check my temps and at fulload my GPU will be at 62-72C max temperature but now it's 10C even higher then before. No, I haven't fiddled with the voltage I set the GPU voltage to 1.037v which is the safest (been running this almost 8 months!). The GPU is the GTX 560ti.Is there a way to set the GPU on default settings or reset GPU settings in cmd or other professional way. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalling GPU, disabled GPU, disabled PCI-E slot and so on by using device manager and the issue still persist. Yes, I also have clean the GPU perfectly and still the temperature goes up to 82 seconds at 30seconds-45seconds. Yes, I have checked everything is set correctly and so on, I am a PC Tech.
Is the GPU damaged? Yes I have looked at this thread: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Mainly, I know its the GPU straight away, I tried checking old drivers, new drivers, another GPU overclocked software such as GPU tweak and EVGA Precision. I am thinking it's the GPU is damaged or the PCI-E is damaged (I have another PCI-E slot on my system and the issue still there). It might be the PCI-E frequency? but it's set to 100 which it meant to be, I just hope is software related because I don't have the money to buy a new card. Did the dump files help?

Nov 3, 2009i have Windows 7 ultimate x64 and the drivers to run my ATI Radeon 4870 work and have already been installed when i switched to windows 7 from windows vista.
I try to download the control center where i can overclock and change settings for my PC and whenever they start to install i get the blue screen and my comp restarts... What can i do?
p.s i did go to windows 7 x64 on the drivers list on the ATI wedsite and didn't accidentally click another OS
