This includes the clock, and all system tray icons.All I have to do is open the task bar properties and click OK and then it comes back. This does not happen after a reboot, it just happens suddenly for no reason, and a couple times a week.

May 9, 2011I have recently downloaded 'paint.net' to windows 7 and the icon keeps disappearing. Not necesarily on a restart but just over night or during the day at random. The program is still listed and works and it is on my start menu when I click on the windows icon in the bottom left corner. I have tried refreshing and still can't keep the shortcut on the desktop.

Dec 7, 2009No big deal, but would like to understand what might be happening.
Have "ClipTrak", a cliboard extender on my PC, and an icon to open it up was placed automatically in the area on the bottom of the screen, extreme right.
Not sure of what this area of the bottom taskbar bar is called; start-up, perhaps ?
It stays there for hours, works as it should, then totally disappears until the next PC
shutdown and subsequent start up again.
What might be happening ?

Feb 22, 2010I had my new desktop with Windows 7 Home 64bit for about 2 weeks now and so far im loving it. The one and only problem im having is the volume icon in the taskbar.Sometimes when my Windows boots up, the volume icon is missing from the taskbar. I take a look in "turn system icons on or off" and the Volume, Network and Action Center are greyed out (cant click them.) It does this once every 2 or 3 reboots. The only way to fix it is to reboot. Its not a huge problem but its very annoying having to reboot 2 times.

After I was done, anytime I clicked on the normal volume icon, either right or left click, it pops up the "Line In Properties" dialog.On left click, it also shows the normal volume adjuster, but hides it after about 2 secs, preventing me from sliding to adjust volume. Jan 13, 2013I don't remember the exact date, but before, whenever I startup my laptop, I always have the Dolby notification icon in the bottom right. But now, I don't know what I did, the notification icon never appears for Dolby. The settings for that icon is set to "Show" but whenever I click on it again, it says "This notification is currently not active" Eventhough, I'm pretty sure it's on.I tried reinstalling, but I keep getting error messages once it's reinstalled. Files get downloaded during the night on one computer and then need to be transfered to another. Usually I am doing this by hand, but then though maybe I could get the task scheduler to do it for me.I understand how to create a task, however I am having trouble with the action tab. I was thinking that I should start windows explorer (where is explorer located for win 7 x64 machines?) under the action tab, but once I do this I am not sure how to tell explorer to check the source folder, select all the files in it and then move it to the target folder.

Mar 28, 2012so i have a blue yeti, and i'm an online animator/voice actor. whenever i record audio on my blue yeti (or any other mic) i record about 4-6 inches from the mic, and turn the gain down enough that the audio doesn't peak as i yell or whatever. this is what you're supposed to do if you don't want your audio levels peaking and making your recording sound horrible and corrupted. however, afterwards, it means i have really quite recordings. not a problem right? now that it's recorded right, i can boost the volume of the entire clip afterwards right? wrong. i'm not an audio expert so i must be missing something. but why in gods name would the audio distort and peak after it's recorded successfully? it's all there, it's all clean audio. if i turn the volume on my speakers all the way up it sounds crystal clear! all i want to do is do that inside the computer so that when i upload it to Internet people don't have to turn their speakers so far up. but if i increase the clips volume in the computer, it distorts! it sounds awful! why?! i tried in sony acid and audacity and they both do the same thing! i can take sound effects, and recordings made by other producers and crank them up nice and loud, but mine just fall apart!

Sep 24, 2012I have installed this game, Singularity. The game worked fine for a week then suddenly It would crash as soon as it was opened from the desktop shortcut. The game is patched to it's latest version, I have direct x all other runtimes and PhysX installed from the CD. The shortcut it set to run as Admin in compatibility. No matter if i try with the desktop shortcut or from the exe in the folder or from the shortcut in the start menu the game will crash asap. The only way this game runs is by pulling up task manager and selecting New Task then browsing to the games exe. Malwarebytes reports no viruses or any malware. Tried reinstalling, and it didn't help.

I had already setup a task to run upon logon when I noticed that the PC's name was all jacked. So I changed the pc's name and rebooted. After reboot the task disappeared from the task scheduler list but still runs. Is there anyway to remove this ghost task when it is no longer visible in the task scheduler?I thought about changing the name back temporarily to see if the task would show up but I have no idea what that name was, so that is not an option.

Mar 1, 2012I just received a new keyboard today: Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate. I went from a Logitech G15.
First thing I did was connect the keyboard and install the software that came along on the CD, it probably also installed the correct drivers. First after this did I uninstall the software and drivers from the old Logitech G15. But before that, and now after, the volume buttons on my new keyboard is still not adjusting the volume when I press them.
