I have a new laptop I've owned since Fall. Its specs are provide below. A while ago its volume adjustment buttons (fn + volume up or down) stopped working. I've been using the desktop toolbar to adjust the sound which is of course very inconvenient. Now in the last week, the volume icon will not show up in the toolbar and I have to reboot often to get it to show, even though the icon and notification are both enabled.I have run malware bytes and super anti-spyware and the latter removed some malware. recently I used a software AVG PC Tuneup and it has never been a problem for me until a couple of days ago when I decided to install it on my DELL. Now, I went to system advisory and did a system scan on recommended settings, I pressed 'fix selected' and my Wifi was disabled, I tried everything. I can't get my wifi to work without plugging in my modem directly ot my pc. I noticed my wifi radio was disabled, so I pressed the F2 button but nothing worked. I am trying to re enable my wifi radio / wireless radio connection button but it won't work.
My program intel my wifi utility tells me my wifi is disabled but I can't enable it.

Had an automtic update occur last night for Win 7 PC and this morning the Excel Logo on the Excel Button is missing. I use to be able to associate the program with the Logo in XP, but do not know how this is done in Win 7.
I reinstalled a Windows 7 OS, and now the volume icon has disappeared from the taskbar. The only way I can adjust the volume is to go into Control Panel. I found the "turn system icons on or off" window, and although the volume icon says "show icon and notifications," it's not on the taskbar, so I don't know what more to do.

I had my new desktop with Windows 7 Home 64bit for about 2 weeks now and so far im loving it. The one and only problem im having is the volume icon in the taskbar.Sometimes when my Windows boots up, the volume icon is missing from the taskbar. I take a look in "turn system icons on or off" and the Volume, Network and Action Center are greyed out (cant click them.) It does this once every 2 or 3 reboots. The only way to fix it is to reboot. Its not a huge problem but its very annoying having to reboot 2 times.
On my desktop and quick start bar the icon for MS Word is only showing a generic picture. The shortcut is working. All the rest of the MS Office shortcuts have the right icon pictures.I'm running Win 7 Home edition and MS office 2010.
I was working on changing the three audio jacks into 5.1 surround outputs. After I was done, anytime I clicked on the normal volume icon, either right or left click, it pops up the "Line In Properties" dialog.On left click, it also shows the normal volume adjuster, but hides it after about 2 secs, preventing me from sliding to adjust volume. I am also inhibited from opening the Playback Devices, Recording Devices, and Sound options that show up with a right click of the icon.As it is extremely frustrating to have to navigate through the Control panel every time I want to change sound levels?
my windows button work but it does not do the shortcuts that it used to do earlier??? like windows + 1,2,3,4 etc not working. i have a packard bell easynote TX86
On windows 7 64 bit the start button(orb) does not load Right click does? I have scanned for viruses and restarted in last good configuration When I reboot I get one go at the start button and it works but never again I use a Toshiba Qosmio laptop.
I have tried and set the menu properties back to the default settings and it still doesnt work. I've looked up if there could be another problem and found out it may be a problem with the registry, however i can't get into the start menu and run the elevated command prompt so i can check it and make sure.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC; for some reason the function button 'f12' for Wireless on/off is not working. My wireless is currently off and therefore I need a way out. Right now f12 is in orange colour indicating wifi is off! I've checked for key issues n found tat the key works fine except to turn the wifi on!
You can join a domain on Windows 7 Home Premium x64, sp1, but the button to change domain name you can not use. How do I find where this is coming from as I don't know who my server is or how to access some user accounts in it?
