I updated my windows and I have a custom built computer, on occasion when I move my mouse arrows in certain areas (mostly over things that have typing as well as well as a web browser) my mouse turns into a group of colorful pixels and I have speed up mouse reading and everything I have checked my video cards and everything, I would like to know if it is a bug in the update (witch it better be fixed asap) or something.

View 8 Replies View RelatedYesterday night I turned off my computer by pressing the power button and now my mouse and keyboard do not work anymore(in Windows). I wanted to see if it was just the mouse/keyboard itself, but I noticed nothing detects when I connect a USB device. I tried plugging it in every port and it's the same. I thought it was a hardware issue, but now I realize that it is not.
I restarted my computer and tried to get into safe mode; it worked(I was able to go up and down to select which mode I wanted to enter). Once inside safe mode and windows is loaded, the keyboard just freezes. It does not work at all. I then decided to go into bios to see what is up and everything seems right. I even screwed around and messed up my overclock settings.
So now I know my keyboard still works and it's probably a Windows issue. I wanted to see if my mouse would work. I went into Windows Repair(I might have gotten the name wrong) and voila, my mouse worked!
after reformatting my windows 7, my sony laptop came up with a weird screen problem. I have updated/re-installed graphic cards etc and even reformatted and same problem. Before the reformatting it didn't use to happen.Basically this happens:Right after "Starting Windows" boot screen and animation finishes, It flashes a bunch of small colored dotted distortions at the top of the screen. It only flashes this once right before the Log in Screen. No other problems occur after that.Tried "No GUI Boot" still didnt fix it.I assume the backlight/inverter is failing?
View 5 Replies View Relatedwhen my computer goes to sleep after it's on for a while when I move the mouse to get the screen back up it shows the backround no icons or anything to click. Same if I turn it off and turn it back on. I have to turn it off and on many times then go to safe mode and shut down then turn it on again for it to work. Just now I had to turn it on/off 4 times for it to show the icons and task bar. Usually it is left blank with nothing to click having no choice but to turn it off. Norton says no viruses. My computer is HP with windows 7. I bought it in 2011.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's been a month i bought a genuine Windows 7 Pro 64bit and lately i noticed that my DVD movies are not playing in a perfect quality, the picture is not smooth at all blocky pixels everywhere. I have used a non-genuine Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit before this (i know that's illegal that's why i got a genuine) and the movies were displaying awesomly.I own a Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra 10 and still no quality enhancements, i have all the newest drivers for all my hardwares. I used shark007 codecs it dindn't help much.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI believe it to be hardware related but cannot get error returns from any program I've tested with, so is it software.?I can play games that run direct x in full screen and never see an issue, never encounter a crash or BSoD, never see artifacts.If I browse the net I can usually create the issue over some time, using a program such as premiere pro usually causes the issue and BSoD within 20-30 mins especially when rendering. If using vmware machines I can make the issue happen after some time as well. If I continue browsing the net when the issues begin to happen my browser will start to crash for no apparent reason as well. Windows Explorer will also crash randomly once it gets bad enough.After I began to encounter issues I took the laptop apart and cleaned it out very well, how ever there was very little dust inside it and no vents were even partially clogged. I did do a re paste about 3 weeks ago both cpu and gpu.
I have Installed the Latest Bios on the Motherboard, Video Card, Hard drive.I have tried doing a system restore to factory settings, a full format and clean install using a windows 7 disk and all ends up with same issues, which is why I believe it to be a hardware issue. (Sorry I did not make backups of the dump files prior to the formats)I have ran Memtest86 for over 3 hours, 3 full cycles. Prime95 for 2+ hours. Many hours of other various test programs such as BurnInTest. None have ever failed or returned an error message.
There are random pure green pixels appearing and disappearing on my DVI-D monitor.They only appear when something is moving such as a video, or the Minecraft main menu background, but I know they aren't dead, because they move when I move the window.If it matters i also have a VGA monitor hooked up to the same PC, and it is working fine, I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, I tightened the cables and everything, My GPU is two AMD Radeon HD 6530D Graphics chip, and the monitor i'm using with the DVI-D worked perfectly with VGA.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe Screen on my laptop (ASUS K53ta) turn white while updating to the latest amd drivers off the official amd website.
During the installation the screen turns black and flickers (like its supposed to) and then all of a sudden the screen darkens and pixel by pixel start turning white. restarting the computer in normal mode and during the boot screen the same thing happens. it darkens then pixels turn white the only way to get it only way to get it out of this mode is to go into safe mode and uninstall the driver. i have tried re-installing the driver and reformatting the computer and installing windows again. NOTHING HAS WORKED!
This computer is not overclocked!

> shutdown /r /f /t 1 . And upon the reboot, all I get is a black screen, no cursor, with ~4 rows of rainbow, garbled pixels at the very top of the monitor (certain pixels occasionally change colours). This occurs before the windows splash screen. I have left the computer as is, hoping it will eventually boot on its own with no luck. This was just a routine check. Some more information, I dual-boot with Ubuntu. I can mount and access the windows partition from Ubuntu, and I even ran ntfsfix in Ubuntu (which has some analogous functionality to chkdsk), but it didn't notice any problems.
My computer qwill freeze for a few seconds followed by system lag which seems to get worse (freezing every few seconds/taking 2 seconds to recognise a click etc.). If i reset my computer it resolves the issue but i was hoping you guys may be able to give me more insight as to what the issue may be.It nearly always happens when i am browsing in firefox. Have never had it happen to me during gaming etc. which is why i'm hesitant to believe it is to do with my GPU or it's drivers which are always kept up to date.i have included pics of the cursor and what processes were running at the time of the freeze/lag
View 9 Replies View RelatedLately I have been having an annoying problem with my wireless mouse. For some reason the pointer will lag, and be very sluggish and jumpy. I've had this mouse on this computer for about a year and I've had no problem. Out of nowhere this problem is happening. I've tried re installing drivers with no luck. I tried uninstalling intellipoint and re-installing it, but when I tried I got the BSOD, and then it completely disabled my mouse and keyboard so I had to use wired peripherals to go in to safe mode and do a system restore. Now everything is working again, except my mouse is still jumpy.

When I then (when Win7 is already up) plug the USB mouse out and 10 seconds later back in again then it is not working any more.
Another USB mouse on another Win7 computer does not have such problems.
How bad is turning off UAC?To install the scalix connector for windows 7 we have to turn off UAC i understand that this will also disable virtualization. Will this impact a users performance? And what if any are issues that we might run into by disabling UAC?Should we turn UAC back on?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe upgrade from Vista to 7 was a smooth one with one exception; my internal bluetooth adaptor is not working.I have a Dell XPS M1330, and I tried enabling it via BIOS, but it does not want to turn on.The BT Tray icon is not showing up, which is the way I normally turn it on, and Fn F2 isn't bringing up any Bluetooth options. It's not in Control Panel under Network, either.There's got to be a way to turn it on.

My computer lately has been lagging or momentarily freezing when I open a program or window. The most disturbing problem is that my laptop shuts off whenever it feels like it. I had to do a System Restore just to get it to turn on yesterday. Luckily I have come acrossI have a working knowledge of computers, enough to get me by so far, but this is way out f my league. In case the info is important I use AVG for anti-virus and also Windows Advanced Care (recommended by a friend). My computer is used mainly for gaming so I would love to get this fixed ASAP since shutting down mid boss fight is highly irritating.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavilion DV7 laptop... The volume slider keeps turning itself all the way down, even as I try to turn it up. Its been happening for a while now. I've tried:
1.) Completely removed everything attached to the MOBO, only the LCD, DC Jack, RAM and HDD. Issue still persists
2.) Same as above only added battery, and unplugged the ac adapter and ran off battery. Issue is resolved.
3.)Plug power back in the issue happens again.
I tried many combinations of removing and adding hardware components and they all have the same result.
4.) I update the drivers, then uninstalled and download new drivers. Installed the software and disabled the software. The issue persists
5.) Tried updating windows and then disabling the sound software along with HP Smart software. Issue persists.
6.) installed a new HDD and clean installed windows 7 with only the provided drivers. Issue persists
7.) Replaced the Sound/Smart Media Power panel. Issue Persists
8.) Changed the RAM. Issue persists.
9.) Disabled the sound devices in the "Sound" control panel. Issue Persists.
10.) Flash the BIOS, already has the newest revision so I re-flashed it. Issue Persists.
11.) Tried switching AC Adapters. issue persists
12.) Changed DC Jack & AC Charger.
I have a home network with two desktop PCs and three laptops, all running Windows 7.I mostly use a desktop PC with Windows 7 Ultimate. I have installed the same version on my girlfriend's laptop. (All other computers use different versions of Windows 7. All 5 copies are legal.)However, when she turns her laptop back on, I get a BSOD on my desktop PC. This doesn't happen when any other PC is turned on.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI can turn on a pc from another machine on the same home network, but can not from the Internet.I am doing this Wake-On-WAN experiment at home by using two machines each connected to the Internet through different ISP.The problem must be somewhere in the BIOS or the router setting for the machine to be turned on.I reviewed the BIOS and found the relevant option was enabled by default. As for the router(D-Link DIR 655), I set the portforwarding for the machine with a arbitrary port number assigned. I did not see anything else relevant but I might have missed something.To send the magic packet, I am using depicus GUI. I also tried one at dslreports website.

I have tried a few of the fixes online such as restoring, checking task scheduler, and running the startup fix on the Windows disc. The pc will also randomly shut down once it loads Windows (put itself through the proper 'Windows is shutting down', not the sudden shut down of a hardware failure). Tonight I also got the bizarre happening of a black screen shortly after startup, with a small in the task bar saying something like 'This Windows version is not genuine'.
