View 1 Replies View RelatedI just built a new computer running Windows 7 64-bit and I’m loving it. However, I have one problem that I just cannot seem to fix. I have two printers - HP Deskjet 5550 and an HP Officejet 6210, both of which I cannot print to.
When I send a job to be printed from ANY program (IE, Word, notepad, etc), the job in the print queue immediately says 'Error-Printing". When I run the printer troubleshooter it says there is a 'print job in the queue that is preventing the printer from working' and the troubleshooter will restart the print job which doesn't fix anything.
If I go into the Event Log I can see that windows is logging Print errors. Please click here to view the error:
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f77/mattd860/print_error.jpg.
Basically, the error says Spooler Operation Failed with Event ID #372. Searching for this error and event ID on the web has yielded no viable solutions.
Here's what I've done so far to try and fix this problem:
Uninstalled printer/reinstalled
Stopped and restarted spool service
Made sure spooling was set to AUTOMATIC (and it was)
Tried alternate printer drivers (from different printers)
I am running a fully updated Kaspersky Anti-virus so I've ruled out the possibility of a virus.... although I guess this might still be the problem?
To me it seems like something in the /windows/system32/spool folder is corrupt but I don't know where to begin fixing it. I guess I could delete the whole directory and copy the .../spool folder from my laptop running windows 7 but I don't want to risk messing up my otherwise perfectly running machine.
I just switched form Win 7 32 bit to 64 bit. I performed a backup and was able to get 64 bit installed and working properly, however I can't find my backup of MS Office 2010.I've looked through my backup and also Windows old file and can't seem to find it. Will I have to reinstall Office from the disk?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently formatted my Dell Inspiron Duo netbook, with Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. I installed all of the software which I run on it without any problems. When I try to update Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus (32bit) Windows Update only finds a few updates, and after they're installed it doesn't find anymore updates. It doesn't even find Office 2010 SP1.{Note: I had no problems with other updates like Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 or other Microsoft updates.I tried uninstalling Office 2010 and installing it again but nothing changed. The privacy settings which show up the first time you run an Office application I set it as "Recommended settings".I also tried downloading Office 2010 SP1 (32bit) and when I tried to run it an error came up saying something like version mismatch (I presume that you need to install other updates before running the setup & I also tried to download an other update but the same error came up.)

New Windows 7 (64-bit) HP PC freezes at startup when HP Office-jet Pro L7680 All-in-One printer is USB-connected. If the USB cable is disconnected, the PC unfreezes and continues booting correctly, and the printer functions properly with the exception that the scanning function causes a freeze-up. There was never any of these freezing issues when the same printer was connected to my old XP machine. I have uninstalled and re-installed printer drivers to no avail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. My problem is: Whenever I try to print something (word, pdf, or any other file); printer spooler stops working and when I check the Devices and Printers all the printer drivers seem to be disappeared. I checked the Print Spooler" in the Services tool; and set the "Recovery after subsequent failures" option to Restart the Serviceā. Therefore all the printer drives coma back after 1 minute. However the spooler stops immediately again when the uncompleted printing job starts; hence I can not print anything more than a page. Earlier in this forum, someone posted that Microsoft issued a hotfix for this problem ( hotfix 2388142) which can be downloaded from article: [URL]. I downloaded this hotfix and tried to install, however it gives an error message of: The update is not applicable to your computer¯ and quits installation. I did uninstall and reinstall all the printer drives, but this did not help either.
