When I attach a file of any type (.pdf, doc, jpg,) to an email using Windows Live Mail 2011, my PC start freezing and loops for 5 to 10. However, if I copy a file and paste it in the email text windows, the icon of the file is created as usual. The PC does not freeze and the posting of the email ok. If I use gmail or windows Live Hotmail 2011 I have no problem to attach and send email on the same PC, a Dell XPS L501x with 4096MB (2x2048) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel, French Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 BIT). When I got this new PC in February 2011, WLM was working OK. Besides the standard updates, I do not see a major software modification. The hardware is still performing like at the 1rst day and I have no others problems to report. Of course, I have reinstall WLM 2011 but no improvement.
When I create Excel douments using Excel 2003 on my Windows 7 system it saves them as 'OOBE.' documents. If I try to open them from 'My Computer' it says it cannot open them (the Open With option does not suggest Excel). However if I open Excel first then go File Open, then document is fine. When attaching these files to emails they don't look like Excel files then either.
I am running Kaspersky Antivirus 2012. I've attached a zipped file containing a RAMMon html report, CPU-Z screenshots, and all diagnostics from the W7F diagnostics tool.
Setup: Win 7 Home premium 64 bit? I periodically get some kind of crud that seems to attach to the mouse pointer. It looks something like the kind of `v' you might make to quickly draw as a representation of a flying bird. But there 7 or 8, maybe more, stacked vertically. I'm not sure what makes it go away but it does after a while. (usually)It appears to have something to do with the right bottom corner area of my screen where I have the clock just to the left of icons of the system tray. And finally a sort of patch or rectangular square that will make the desktop appear.I just found today that if I rub the mouse around in that area, the crud gets many more vertical stacks of `vee', until finally its a little block about the size of a postage stamp, just a little shorter and square, and looks something like a speckled sheet or one with many bits of herringbone pattern. The block has only happened after passing the mouse there many times. Usually it's just a single column of the these stacked `vees'
what sucks about Windows Live Mail is that Micosoft "simplied sending photos without clouging one's inbox" That did away with attaching photos in body and replaced with the annoying variations of a photo album. The majority of folks now have highspeed so clouging and inbox is not really an issue. I want to send emails and attach photos to the message (and see the photos I recieve) just like how it used to be in Outlook Express.
So I just built my new computer and fired up my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit disc. The setup files load, the Windows logo video plays, the pretty blue screen with the flowers in the corner appears and my cursor has the rotating green circle indicating something is happening.
Then the circle stops spinning and disappears. At this point it appears the installation freezes. Pressing any keys or moving the mouse does nothing. I have to restart the computer. Same thing happens. Any off-the-bat suggestions before I start troubleshooting hardware?
My hard drives are in a RAID configuration per the M/B controller and a mirror volume has been created on the disk. I have one IDE DVD rom drive (the only part of the computer that's not brand new) and one additional HD audio card installed. The system is stable in the BIOS.
I've been having problems with windows journal when a note file reaches 2mb or more. I use an (older) tablet pc with a core duo CPU running Windows Home Edition and I wonder whether this may be the problem as upgrading my RAM to 4GB didn't help at all. One way around this would be to have smaller files with different chunks of the data (diagrams and hand written notes) but I would have thought a 2mb file wouldn't cause such problems. I've been considering upgrading to a brand new tablet but if the problem is with the software then I don't see much point yet.
Im having screen freezes every couple of days. My whole computer just freeze what its doing.Been
-on word -on a game -watching movies -transfering data
So no specifi thing sets it off.Cant alt-cnt-delete.Its like a screen shot of my computer and watching a picture. I am trying to forward an email with photo's that I received from a friend.I am using Win 7 and windows live mail 2011. I tried sending it as a gmail and as a hotmail and as a Verizon email. All do the same thing.I get an error message that says "one or more of the pictures cannot be found do you want to send the message anyway"
How can i remove av protection 2011 and av security 2012 from my computer? first thing i have the malwaire bytes antimalwaire, super antispyware free and avast free version installed on my pc.
i tried to use TDSSKiller like what someone here once told me but the scan took about two minutes and said no threats found. i scanned like 5 times and no luck.
i not too experienced with safe mode. will avast free, malwairebytes antimalwaire free and super antispyware free remove the virus?
whenever i access the internet , the avast program pops up and says avast network shield has blocked a harmful site and then it says the object is the site im on which is mostly yahoo email , facebook, yahoo answers. , and that the process is the internet i use which is google chrome or firefox. the thing is i only use mostly email, yahoo answers, and facebook on my pc so i doubyt those sites can give a virus. are they related to the av installed on my pc. this pisses me off cause the notice takes up a good portion of my monitor
Me and my friend go this virus two days apart, and she'd been able to fix it quick within the day, I'm still having problems.I see fixes for it using MBAM, which I've tried. It's installed, but no mater what, I can't run it even if I name it mbam.com, or anything of the sort. Also, my computer won't go into safe mode. I can run it normally, but when I press F8, I can pick to boot off my SARA, or my CD Drive, but piking either of those just takes me to system restore, where I wipe my hard drive which I"ll only do if it's a last resort.
I run Windows 7 on a Dell laptop and I want to uninstall AVG 2011 Free Edition. For some reason I cannot complete the process. I'm using the Windows uninstall program from the control panel because its the only place the program actually shows up in the menu to be uninstalled. After the program runs for a few mins I get an error code 0xC0070643 or a general internal error. It says AVG Watchdog could not be stopped. I've tried to go into the Task Manager and shut down all processes having to do with AVG but they dont stop!
I have Revo Unistaller on my pc but it doesn't even recognize the program. In other words, AVG doesn't even show up in the list of programs that can be uninstalled. I simply want to get rid of this and install Microsoft Security Essentials.
Last night while bring windows 7 home premium down it indicate 16 upgrades. The system appears to load the upgrades and the computer shut down. This morning I turned on the computer and I get to the screen "Preparing to configure Windows. Do not turn off your computer." It has been stuck here for over an hour. How long do I let it go before I turn it off?
I've got a home network with Homegroup working fine across three /four machines & printers.I've just installed a small test server and loaded Windows Small Business Server 2011 (SBS2011)I've tried connecting to this server from two Win 7 pc's and having no joy. Also, cannot even see the server on my network from the pc's.If I try to use the sbs2011 connector software (as recommended) I enter url... and get a software download from the server. This is supposed to make it easy to link the pc to the server and run backups and so-on.However it fails and gives me an "unexpected error" after trying to log me in (I think).I cannot see the server at all from the pcs other than by using remote desktop protocol - network search and network sharing both fail to see it.I've removed my pcs from the homegroup in case that is the conflict but still no joy.BTW, the server CAN see the other pcs on the network when it performs a network search.
I thought I would pass on my recent adventure of removing Win 7 Security 2011.After wasting about 4 hours of my time reading and trying to remove what I thought was a serious infection, I ended up using old relieable, Malwarebytes.1) Downloaded Malwarebytes to a flash drive using another computer.2) Copied Malewarebytes (via flash drive) to the infected computer.3) Rebooted infected computer in "Safe Mode With Networking".4) Installed Malwaebytes.5) Updated Malwarebytes.6) Rebooted computer in "Safe Mode With Networking".7) Ran Malwarebytes, deleted infection and rebooted. All done.
MS keeps updating Windows 7 to ensure that we can no longer delete or reset the index.dat files. The result is that no matter what fix is posted here, MS does something to ensure the fix no longer works. Here's the laundry list of solutions that no longer work. Malwarebytes (various problems -- says file is open in Malwarebytes, is hidden and cannot be found even though Windows options have been changed to show hidden files) CCleaner (ineffective) index.dat Suite (currently completely disabled for Windows 7) index.dat suite (to find all files) combined with Eraser (to erase the files) (comes back wtih error message) Red Button (can't remember specifics here -- just that it doesn't work) Mil Sheild (can't remember specifics on this one either -- just that it doesn't work) and finally the instructions in the most recent thread on Index.dat which involve booting in safe command and going to the root file to delete index.dat. (I receive an error message that the file does not exist even though I can find 15 separate index.dat files with index.dat suite.
my computer went haywire last night, the explorer.exe keeps shutting down if i try to access My Computer and it is also not registering my second hard drive, it shows that it is there but the files are inaccessible. up until last night everything was working fine and i didnt have a single problem, on Wednesday night i put the computer to sleep and didn't touch it again until about 9pm Thursday night. when i turned on the computer it tried to recover on its own and it froze up, so i let it try and do its thing for about 20 min with no progress so i shut it off. i don't see why this problem would suddenly occur especially if nobody has even looked at the computer.
PC TuneUp Utilities 2011/2012 TuneUp Utilities 2012 So what you all think about this software on WINDOWS 7 all versions. Is it worth installing.Won't it hurt the registry or any other kind of weak point in Windows 7?
I tried installing both matlab 2009 and 2011a on windows 7, however after finishing installation,a message came saying software not installed correctly
New computer came with Windows Live Essentials 2011, plus I have a large Windows Update for it waiting in the wings. I would like to uninstall all the Windows Live programs and possibly keep Windows Live Mail in the event I might one day use it...or not. I also have MS Outlook on my computer. Is there any reason why I need to keep the Windows Essentials 2011 family?
be sure to use a version internet explorer to when trying to download Windows virtual pc 2011.if you use google chrome to as the microsoft webpage this download is the genuine Windows Validation Process may or may not work due to an Windows Validation plugin for now does not work with google chrome
The cropping tool in wlpg 2011 does not work correctly. Tool is not relable and does not function as it should. I have an indentical PC with wlpg 2011 which does work correctly. I have reinstall twice with no luck.
I got 2 partitions and the 1st partition is bigger then the 2nd. So when I try to restore my backup OS from the smaller partition to the bigger one it does not load properly! My Os is windows 7 32bit.It loads and say preparing your desktop then the desktop is blue and no icons, nothing. Just blank! I restart and enter into safe mode and still nothing just a blue screen, where you can move the mouse and press alt-del to get task manger loader but that is it.I am wondering that it might be that you can restore your image by Acronis on drives that are bigger or smaller. You need to partition it.So is this the reason why windows will not load properly cause I am restoring to a bigger partition? I tried many times and failed. Ironically when I use the same size partition image it restores perfectly so not sure what is this?
just had the live mail update to 2011, in the old live mail you could change the background of your outgoing emails both color or with an image. personaly I had a feint rose as my default background for all my emails, now its plain?
All i want is my ability to send pictures via windows explorer with the right click feature, then to resize them and then send them. Now when it gets ready to send it says some stuff about Skydrive, about some photo album and wants me to log in somewhere. I don't want any of that. I want the old tried and true method I had under plain jane Windows Mail before. How do I make WLM 2011 behave like the old WM? I just want to select, resize and send the way it used to work under WM!!!!!
I have recently upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and my Windows Live Mail 2011 software was moved into the new Operating System. It is working perfectly except for a few minor problems like the following one. When opening the screen for a NEW MESSAGE, and then clicking on TO in order to select a contact from my List of Contacts, the following message will appear.WLM can not open this contact. I try again twice or more times, and my list of contacts will then open allowing me to select the contact or contacts I want.
